For information, Google, Alexa and Sonos Voice Control can be used on most of Sonos’ recent products.
+18Maybe I’m opening a can of worms here, but what is so complicated about setting up Sonos.
+18Gemini might replace GA in the not to distant future, but GA still works on Sonos’ older stuff or can command Sonos via a Google Nest Mini.
If it replaces GA I would hope Sonos will work with either Gemini or another assistant with a wide range of languages available. GA works with all my smart devices (Hue, Tahoma, Samsung, iRobot, Navimow) and it works in Dutch, my native language. SVC is only English and French and Alexa does not do Dutch on Sonos.
Losing google integration is probably the biggest drawback of owning this system. I'd like to see it back soon.
You’ll need to convince Google, then. Sonos wanted their newer speakers to be able to access the same systems as their older speakers, but Google said no, and changed the requirements.
