Feature Request: DHCP Option 60 - Vendor Class Identifier - Population (e.g. "Sonos...")

Hello!

A thing that might help out a number of people with larger or more complex setups to correctly and automatically group their Sonos gear logically together from an IP Addressing perspective, and possibly assigning specialized options as well, would be a very minor tweak to the DHCP Client on the Sonos appliances.

Simply populate DHCP Option 60 (for IPv4, and Option 16 for IPv6), with text that starts with “Sonos”.

Many DHCP servers have the capability to change their behavior for IP and option assignment based on values off of those values.
