Has anyone tried the double twist app on android to airplay your music to the Beam 2 and are there any problems with it. I've downloaded it but I need to pay £15 to be able to use airplay. Any feed back would be appreciated.

I am not familiar with the Double Twist App, although with a quick search, it seems that they experienced issues a few months back in regards to the functionality of AirPlay.
One way for you to listen to content from your Android phone/tablet would be to purchase a Bluetooth-capable Sonos product (exclude Sonos Ace), add it to your Sonos system and then use the group feature with your Sonos Beam (Gen 2).
With my response your thread moved to the top of the latest activity list, maybe other users who use this Double Twist app can share their experience.

Thanks sorry only just seen your reply yes I've since ordered the roam 2. Wasn't sure about the app so went for the roam 2 and got it with discounts for £107 so hopefully I'll be happy with it, be picking it up today. Thanks for your reply.
