CDs are making a comeback! We all know it.
Will Sonos make a dedicated CD system like they did with their turntable? I’d buy this in a heartbeat.
it would be awesome so have that feel of physical media with my Sonos setup, and be able to skip tracks etc. from any room ❤️.
The R&D dept. can have this idea for free just build it!
Sonos doesn’t make a dedicated turntable system. They partner with Pro-Ject to sell bundles, but Sonos has nothing to do with manufacturing the turntables, nor is there anything special about Pro-Ject turntables that make them more compatible with Sonos than any other non-bundled turntable manufacturer’s units. I imagine if CDs start to have a resurgence like vinyl, Sonos would look into partnering with a CD player manufacturer. But that, like the turntables, doesn’t mean Sonos are manufacturing the units.
+14I have a stereo pair of Fives. One is hooked up to my turntable and the other is hooked up to my little CD player. You can do this easily with most CD players so long as they have the relevant connector
A Port is also an option, but as the others it adds the analog conversion.
Something like a Victrola Stream turntable for CDs might sell as it would keep the signal as HD digital.
Someone might promote this to the Victrola folks if you have a contact there, they might be interested.
