Makes sense, with the ‘app’ being only a remote control, that you’d experience the same thing, under the assumption the network difficulty you’re running in to is between the speakers and the network.

I’d start with a full refresh, by unplugging all your Sonos devices from power, then reboot your router. Wait two minutes, then plug back in the Sonos devices.

If that doesn’t fix the issue, and I think it will, I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. Don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here, they get sensitive about GDPR.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

So I actually hardwired the optimum extender 5 to my Altice router and got no drops for 30 minutes, than started getting audio drops again.

I then turned off TV AUTOPLAY in the S2 app on my android phone.  So far no drops.

Let you know more tomorrow.

BTW the 3 Play 5 speakers are in our Scottsdale house which is 100 miles from our second home which is where we are now.  Not sure how they are showing up.

Speakers at current location.

Living room - Arc Ultra, 2 300's, Sub 4

Den room - 2 older Play One's

Ok after turning TV AUTOPLAY off in S2 app , and still using EXtender 5 hard wired to my Altice router, I have no drops of audio.

Did experience one Era 300 and Sub 4 go missing in S2 app.  Power cycled both and both showed up in S2 app.

Will be testing all day today.  Then I will try putting TV AUTOPLAY back on and test,

Will also test without the Optimum wifi extender 5 as well, with TV AUTOPLAY on and off.

Ok 5 hours of play.  No drops, no speakers going missing from rooms requiring power cycles off to on.  Perfect audio, lossless and Atmos playing perfect from apple music within S2 app.

TV Autoplay turned off.   Continue to use Optumum extender 5 with my Altice router.   SONOS ARC ULTRA hard wired to router.  On my hisense U8qg 65 inch tv, made tv not stay connected to network when powered off.

Comments are appreciated.

Great that you have your Sonos working!

FYI, yours was a network issue. Turning off TV Auto Play has no influence upon Sonos speakers dropping or not being found in the app.

Maybe there are others that can try what I did.

Everything is working now, afraid to change anything to test further.

Ok when I turn TV autoplay on, music tracks drop.  Turn it off plays flawlessly.

Replicated 5 times.   Say what you want, it works with TV Autoplay off, drops with it on.

Anyone else experienced this???

Hmmm

I have 3 Arc Ultra’s all with TV Auto Play turned on. I use iOS and Android devices. Not experiencing the issue. If you are so inclined I recommend contacting Sonos Tech Support to discuss the issue after running a diagnostics within 10 minutes of the occurrence. Make note of the reference ID; but do not post it in the community for privacy concerns.

Ok I turned tv autoplay back on, but turned off HDMI-CEC in my Hisense u8qg 65 inch TV.

NO ISSUES NOW WITH DROPPED MUSIC.

Ha Ha

So you traded Sonos functionality for one issue and got another one in return. Now you’ve lost CEC functionality. Maybe check for an update for your TV and/or contact Hisense tech support. Let us know the outcome.

I turned Hdmi CEC back on, as I lost sound to my Era 300,s on surround.   Turned off TV autoplay, and I am good to go now.
