Hi all,

With the latest update, alarms are now available in the Sonos app. You’ll need the latest version of the Sonos app and speaker firmware to have them show, and steps are posted in the Sonos App Redesign AMA, which are:

  1. Update your app to:
    1. iOS: 80.00.08 - available now in the App Store
    2. Android: 80.00.05 - available now in the Play Store
  2. Update your firmware to 79.0-52294 - available now via the Sonos App:
    1. Tap the settings gear in the top right
    2. Select “Manage” next to your system name
    3. Select System Updates
    4. Select Check for Updates
  3. Launch the Sonos app twice in order to guarantee we fetch the latest feature flags:
    1. Start the Sonos app
    2. Force quit the app
    3. Start the Sonos app again

Once you’ve performed the above, you’ll find alarms in the Sonos app under System Settings (⚙) → Manage → Alarms.

You can view the current roadmap on our article for Future Feature Updates in the New Sonos App and also in the Release Notes for Sonos software updates.

If you have any further feedback to share, please continue to share it the main topic for the New Sonos App linked below or any relevant threads on the community:

For reference, this is how you access alarms in the app:

Forced to update to 80.04.05, and there is no alarm setting in my Manage menu.

It’s there for everyone else. Did you also run a System Update too? And re-start the app?

Thanks Sonos, super duper quality control, I use the alarm functionality every day, and because you had to launch a set of mediocre headphones you decided to ruin my system.

If you are using an ad blocker like a pihole or nextdns Sonos doesn’t like you blocking their data collection so no feature updates will work. 🤣

If not try deleting then reinstalling the app.

I do run a pihole, and holy hell, are they really that desperate for spying on their users that they actively remove features to track us?

New firmware and application (UK, Android) and alarms are present and manageable but none actually work, either chime, stream or radio - new or pre-existing just silence!

(I do have correct timezone and daylight savings set too and have tried variations...)

Well I take it back, 3 days since update and no alarms including this morning... Posted the above and gave it one more try by changing the time on an existing alarm (no other change) and what do you know it triggered 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hopefully it will remain working... 🤞

Mine also reverted back to not triggering, despite all the options being set up to do so on the mobile iOS app.

The thing that got them working again was setting up a new alarm via the Sonos Mac OS app that I have on a laptop that doesn’t have the same VPN / Firewall / AdBlocker as I have on my phone.

After that alarm was set and activated, other existing alarms have started to function.

This really is weird sh*t and no way to run a product.

They must have seen your post and instantly sorted it for you! 😉

Dear Sonos,

Your new app has, to date, wasted at least 227 people's time, totaling over 56 hours. The layout is poorly designed and unintuitive. Please consider making wiser, more user-friendly updates without drastic changes. This app wasted 15 minutes of my time, and I am sure many others feel the same.

Alarms still not working for me

When will it be possible to set alarms without being logged in as system owner?

I would like to have this option back as in previous s2 version. Members of the household need to be able to set their own alarms, without being a system owner.

timer functionality should be accessible for users
