Intermittent AirPlay Bug as of iOS 26.2

Is anyone in Sonos support aware of the following intermittent AirPlay bug that has been introduced as of iOS 26.2? There appear to be quite a few people experiencing it, including me on two independent, physically disjoint Sonos systems.

While it is likely to be a bug introduced on the Apple side of the connection, with networking you never know for sure, so perhaps Sonos support should reach out to Apple about it.

Over in the Reddit forum where this issue is being discussed, it was just reported that the issue is fixed in iOS 26.3 beta 3 - so most of us should just wait for 26.3 to be released.

I’m having the same issue. I’ve reported it to Apple since beta testing 26.2 and no fix yet. I did receive a message from Apple saying this was fixed in the latest update (my guess 26.3 beta which I am testing) but the issue still not resolved.

Same issue here. Every track change goes silent. Move 2 w/ Apple Music. Very frustrating.

Hi

I tested iso 26.2.1 in the hope this was resolved (mainly because there wasn’t much detail on what the ‘bug fixes’ in the release were) but unfortunately this remains unresolved.  Now all I can hope for is 26.3

Thought I would update you in case you were hoping it fixed the issue.

Hello again,

I have one question, is the issue appears also with a Sonos system connected with an Ethernet cable ?

Kind regards.

Hello - I have upgraded to 26.3 and this bug seems to have been solved.  Tested it out several times yesterday and it played all tracks consistently, allowed me to intersperse “next up” tracks and continued playing.    I’ll post again if there are any hiccups but this seems resolved! 🥳

to be fair it doesn’t seem to care how your Sonos system is connected, but instead how airplay is sent to your system (which is over wifi).  Bluetooth, for example, to the same speaker works well, but you can only do one at a time.  But the good news is, following a previous post I made, that iOS 26.3 seems to have sorted this bug out!

Hello Everyone,

I have had the same problem today, just one time but one time more.

This is really frustrating.

Kind regards.
