grouping by album artist - Android

The app on my phone is up to date and I can now save the queue to a playlist but I still cannot  configure the app to sort my music library by album artist (which was supposedly reintroduced in the early December update).

Any thoughts on why this seems to be missing?

I’m not sure what you mean, @User117655. Could you please post a screenshot demonstrating what’s wrong?

Sorry @Corry P , I was referring to the old issue of compilation albums failing to return as results when searching for the album artist like the desktop app does... nothing new…

And issues as discussed here,

Just belabouring the point at every opportunity 🤓. Coming up for 2 years since it worked and went pear shaped now... 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hi @User117655

Ah yes - I remember that coming up before, and my checking and verifying it.

To be honest, I don’t know if that is expected behaviour or not, as the documentation I have available does not cover it - I recommend starting a new feature request thread to have Search look through the Music Library content Album Artist tags too.

I hope this helps.

Corry P:

I understand that there are few that have a local music share.  So the Sonos focus would be mostly on how well streaming services work on Sonos.  Would this be the case?

As I recall when this compilation album problem first occurred that Sonos eventually fixed it.  So at least, with the way I tag my albums, everything here showed  properly once the issue was fixed and it still does show correctly.

Hi @MoPac

In general, yes, but it depends on how egregious an issue is - if it is particularly so, it may get addressed sooner. It also depends on how complicated the fix is though - if it takes a longer time to fix, then yes - the fix will obviously come later. I think we did just do a lot of work on Music Library, however, so we may still be wanting to get it behind us sooner rather than later - I really don’t know.

Glad to hear it - I still have one album with 3 entries, but I want to leave it alone to see what happens when the fix comes in.

Sonos does seem to have higher priorities but getting a Feature Request accepted and/or a phone call to support both appear to be good ways to raise the priority of any issue.

Is the issue where Amazon Music user created playlists do not fully load into the queue something that would be better resolved by calling support?  I’m referring to playlists under 500 tracks which seems to be the Amazon limit.

Calling support is not going to miraculously resolve the known issue of Amazon Music playlists not loading fully.

It’s now been at least 6mths and counting waiting for that bug to be resolved.

That figures.  Fortunately I can use SonoPhone to load the queue.  Then it all shows in the Sonos app.

Calling won't fix bugs but it may get them more priority.
