Apple Music "Recently Added" items in Sonos App are not updating

Apple Music “Recently Added” item in Sonos app is not updating, it is stuck on what it was last week. The result is the same on iOS and iPad OS versions (both 18.5). Worked fine last week.

Logging out of Sonos, deleting the app, removing and adding Apple Music service does not help.

This is a pretty crucial feature for me, to the extent that I will have to find a different platform if not fixed. Any ideas?

Interesting. Possibly an issue with Apple, then, but I’d recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of recreating this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. Don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here, they get sensitive about GDPR.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution. Or point you to Apple.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

Two potential concerns here.

If you’re talking about ‘locally’ stored music, you may want to check the update process for music libraries, to ensure that is firing off on whichever schedule you have determined, in your controller, and that the ‘source’ device is available to the network when the Sonos system is trying to update it.

Less in your control if you’re talking about data stored on Apple’s servers, Sonos relies on Apple to push that data to your Sonos. You may want to reach out directly to Apple in that case, as it would be their servers not properly feeding your Sonos.

Finally, it wouldn’t hurt to remove the Apple service from your Sonos, wait two minutes, then reconnect it, which would force a new ‘handshake’ between your Sonos client and the Apple servers.

Just to be clear, tapping Apple Music then Recently Added isn’t to see what was recently played, it’s for playlists you’ve recently added. Are you wanting to see what you’ve recently played?

Yes, "recently added” albums and playlists, not "recently played”.
