Hi,

I have Sonos Beam gen1, two Sonos SLs and the Sub Mini in my setup. Everything connected by WiFi.  I have Apple Music and YouTube Music connected in the app. Recently Apple Music has essentially stopped working and as far as I can see from the other topics there is some issue related to the lossless support that was added by Apple. The app displays that it is playing a track, the lossless icon is present but no sound is played, it can play for a few seconds and then sound disappears. Via airplay all Apple Music tracks play just fine. YouTube music works well. Having looked at all the topics related to this issue on the forum I see there were some recommendations to reconnect the system, etc. That did not help. Is the Sonos (or Apple ?) team working on the solution to the problem? Just want to understand if it is something related to any of my Sonos components not being supporting l lossless or is the issue on the other side? Thanks.

So apparently it was a networking issue. I connected the Beam and it played Apple Music fine. Then repositioned the router so that the antennas are not overlapped by the monitor and now it seems to play ok. So apparently the lossless is more demanding to network conditions.

I had the same issue with Apple Music not working.

It was driving me insane !

I tried different thing and it appears that if I delete the music from my phone juste leaving it in the library it worked again…what kind of twisted logic there is behind this is beyond me.

I do not know if it will help others but I thought it would be best sharing it.

I am having the same recent problem playing Apple Music on my Arc. It worked perfectly until June or July. I am able to play all Apple Music tracks on my iPhone, but not on the Arc using the Sonos app. I have a Google Nest mesh WiFi network.

So far, I have tried:

  • Uninstalling and reinstalling Apple Music from my iPhone
  • Removing and then adding Apple Music from “Content Services” on Sonos
  • Rebooting the router
  • Turning off the Arc and powering back up
  • Re-authorizing my Apple Music account

Does anyone have any suggestions? I’ve spent hours and hours trying to figure this out. Apple doesn’t seem to understand what is going on either. So frustrated and at my wit’s end.

TIA.

Odd. I’d probably try a call to Sonos Support directly to discuss it.

When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

I have similar issue with Apple Music and Sonos.

I have  two Sonos System, one for S1, Other for S2.

The S2’one had Sonos One and Sonos Move2. Move 2 works fine. One play fine Amazon music, or Sonos Radio, or other services, but do not play any song from Apple Music: the song don’t start, try to start endlessly.

some help?
