Anyone else having issues with volume. Sometimes I have to set volume to 84 just to hear faint sound???

Hi - it is from Spotify, Napster, 


On what speaker are you having the volume issue or is it across all rooms?

How are you initiating the music? From within the Sonos app or the native music service app?

Using Spotify Connect, it was confirmed recently volume normalisation is applied which has resulted in the volume being reduced for the majority of tracks.

Also check that you have not set a Volume Limit on any impacted speaker/room.


it is on all speakers and I am playing/initiating music within the Sonos app.  I will keep playing with it, sounds like it is not some big known issue but definitely one of the new mysteries from the “new app hangover”

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having volume issues with your system. While it is true that we’re using volume normalisation now with Spotify tracks when using Spotify Connect, having your system volume at 84 and just hearing ‘faint sound’ wouldn’t be the result of that. Plus, you also have faint audio with Napster which, to my knowledge, hasn’t had any changes.

If you’ve checked that a volume limit hasn’t been placed on your speakers like ​@Mr. T suggested, then I would recommend submitting a diagnostics (recording a video if you can) and reaching out to our support team. They have the necessary tools available to look into your system and help you troubleshoot this issue.
