The Sonos Windows App

Can I update the Windows app to the current version and be confident I will not lose the Sonos playlist editing functionality in my current version?

My Windows app seems to be the last place that can still edit a Sonos playlist.  I am reluctant to apply any of the more recent updates to the Windows app unless I can be confident that:

  • The newest version of the Windows app has a full set of Sonos playlist editing functionality

             ---- OR ----

  • That I can rollback to my current version if it turns out that the current version is unusable for Sonos playlist editng.

The Windows and Mac apps have been frozen in functionality for years.  Nothing is being added or taken away from them, at least until they are fully replaced by the web app.

Long live the Sonos Windows (and Mac) app.

Hear, hear. Up until now, nothing has beaten the good old and faithful Sonos Windows Desktop App.

FYI: Even though it wasn’t expicitly stated, I interpreted the response as saying “It is safe to apply to updates” and I did it.  Everything worked! No problems at all!

Thanks for your input and let’s hope that our venerable Sonos Windows app conintues to provide a bridge until the “New App” issue are resolved.
