So I had a cunning plan. I was going to rip all my old CD’s and play them through a couple of Sonos speakers. The speakers are great, but I am struggling to find a device to play them through

I tried a Brennan, but the poor UI, lack of a dedicated app, and limitations of file format and slow ripping performance has meant it is less than optimal. I could but a NAS on there, but I would like a box that contained online access with physical controls (and if it could connect to internet radio and streaming services, even better). I’m am looking at the WiiM Ultra, but Sonos dedicated support seems to be still in Beta, or unclear.

Has anyone got any better suggestions?

I use the music library for my ripped cds from my NAS, and the Sonos app for streaming.

Just couldn't see the expense or hassle of adding a device that needed a second controller or going to it and pushing buttons.

I’m happy with an NAS, to be honest I could put one together myself. My wife however is a bit less tech savvy and still likes the physical controls and interaction

To be honest I’m a bit surprised there is nothing on the market

My spouse feels the same about Sonos moving to touch controls and no buttons.

I am regularly called on (being polite here) to "Come deal with this stupid Sonos I can't shut up!" She also refuses to dust them for the same reason.

If you do want to use the Sonos database, remember it has a 65k limit.
