I'm considering buying a Sonos PLAY:5.

Since this speaker is a year or two old , I wanted to know what's the life cycle of a sonos product , when might another play speaker be released?.



For how long does the company continue churning out software updates for their products? for example an android phone will only get software updates for a year or two and then nothing.

4-5 years. And every software update that Sonos releases is still backward compatible with and upgrade all its products ever made, with the exception of two own made controllers, that aren't made/sold for some years now.
