Hi I have a Sonos s16 amp (2018) squirrel blew transformer (yeah would you believe it) hence power surge poping my amp. traced it back to L1 resistor/ diode on main board. can someone help me with what should I replace it with. Kind Regards Noel
This is really a question for Sonos, but I was wondering if the community had any thoughts on this too. If Sonos is in favour of the ‘Right to repair’ directive coming to the EU (I believe), do they plan to make service manuals available to help users repair their devices (I’m struggling to triage an issue with my Sonos S16 Amp which is out of warranty). Would be great to have a fair chance of fixing it rather than consigning it to landfill…
Hi, I have sonos AMP S16 blow-up IC chip locate on power supply board at U3, please see pictureI can’t read the part number. does anyone know the part number for that chip?Thank you
I have a Port wired to my Yamaha RX-A6A using RCA connections. The sound out of stereo speakers is loud clicking with no music. I have numerous ones, a sub, two Era 300 speakers and two ports streaming music to my porch and garden in my system that work very well. I have just discarded the 7.2 channel system in my living room as the sound is unbearable. It would be nice to be able to play streaming music on Yamaha receiver.
I have just build a passive house and it is a sealed home with an air handling unit. Each room is sealed with a membrane. How do I fit a ceiling mount Sonos speaker without compromising the sealed ceiling. This is going to be an ongoing issue (certainly in Europe with passive houses) Note: self sealing ceiling downlight housing are already available. Any thoughts as my home is all flush speakers.
Hi. I have the following set up in my living room (part of a larger multiroom sonos system):Sonos Port connected to my 2 active meridian speakers. I simply (!!) want to connect my TV to that set up so I have better sound quality through the Meridians than the TV speakers. I am NOT bothered about surround sound.I did this before in an old house with an old TV which had RCA audio outputs…. plugged those into the port (actually a Connect in those days) and hey presto. However I now have a newer TV which only has an optical digital output. I tried connecting it to a DAC and then old fashioned audio cables into the port. This lead to a MASSIVE audio delay…. completely useless I’m afraid. So anything I can do to get the audio synced apart from by an old TV with RCA audio out??Thanks
I just had my outdoor covered patio wired for 4 in ceiling speakers to play sound off of a TV as well as music via a Sonos amp. I was looking at where they dropped the wires to connect to the amp and noticed only 2 sets of wires (black and white). When I went to look at the wiring outside I noticed the speaker closest to the house has a black and white wire while the rest just have a black traveling from the speaker closest to the house. After some googling it I think they wired this in series wiring which is not what I want, rather I want parallel for my use case. I’ll be driving 4 8 Ohm speakers (Polk 90-RT) and fear this is going to result in a loss of sound quality. They are about to close the ceiling tomorrow so I think I need to halt them and have the electrician re-wire the speakers If it’s a parallel run then I should end up with 4 wires not 2?Can someone confirm my suspicion / hunch?
Hi all!Just received a long-coveted Yamaha Enspire piano DU1 ENST. A “real” accousitc piano with digital features and output, among other nice stuff...Have a large Sonos system (Amp + analogic speakers, 3 Play1s, 2 Move-s, 2 Era100s...), as we’re a (boutique) hotel.Just acquired a new Port to plug the piano to the whole system (RCA-RCA).Port functions properly (checked with an iPad through a jack-rca).When connected to the Piano, depending on the piano configs, either nothing happens or sound is VERY degraded (sound level + quality).I suspect I need a preamp.Any tips, given that I do not want to denaturate the Piano's musicality? Many thanks to all for this.
We just picked up a Victrola record player that has built in Sonos connection. Any way to have the output connect to Bluetooth (Skullcandy) wireless headphones?
Hey Guys and Gals - new Sonus user here so go easy 😂I just bought a house with 6 pairs of 8ohm speakers connected to an Episode ESS-6 switch with impedance protection for an amp. I understand Sonus only recommends driving 2 pairs of speakers per Amp.https://www.snapav.com/shop/en/snapav/episode-reg%3B-speaker-selector-with-amplifier-protection---6-pairsWith amp protection on the Episode will the Sonus Amp safely drive these speakers concurrently? Thanks!Pete
Hi,after last update my sonos zp90 is unlistenable. I only use it as a source for streaming Deezer (coaxial output). Something is wrong. It is hard to describe, something like "out of phase sound". If i go between the speakers and move a little bit to the one side i can hear only music playing outside one speaker. I can't hear second one and there is no music between speakers. In the past there was a one update which i remember have an sound issue (weak bass etc.) Has anyone experience the same issues? As i know there is no way back and i cant downgrade it :/
Hii have needing using Sonos amp with wireless Sonos beakers and a wired set of ceiling speakers the cables go into the back of the amp.i use to select the ceiling speakers when I wanted to use them now they do not appear as an option ? tried turning on and off the Sonos amp but it makes no difference Tried adding speakers but it just looks for wireless speakers Many of my wireless speakers have been lost but the beam with my tv is still available and I can select and play Spotify through it any suggestions as to what I should try cannot understand if the cable goes from the amp to speaks why it cannot find them
Hello,I would like to get some inputs on the speaker setup for my new house. I have attached the layout of speakers which I have in mind. Few questions - is it too many speakers (~6) for 1 sonos amp? does the layout looks good? My first plan is to setup the family room and dining area → movings towards patio next → and maybe other rooms in future.
Hello Community,Does anyone have experience simultaneously connecting two non-preamp turntables into the Sonos system? I understand there are multiple Sonos options to connect one non-preamp turntable/ one RCA cable set, but I am hoping for a resolution to fully integrate both of my Technic SL1200 turntables. Thank you!
I am undertaking a self build in the UK. We are approaching the stage of first fix electrics, at which point I was planning to wire in audio cable for a number of in ceiling/in wall speakers powered by Sonos amps. I now find out the in ceiling speaker is 250mm Deep? The standard for new builds has a 45mm service batten and 12.5mm of plasterboard mounted on top. This leaves a total void of 57.5mm to install the speaker without having to drilll into the PIR insulation underneath, which is against building control regulations. A stud wall is 90mm, which gives 102.5mm total for a wall mounted speaker. Is this just me, or am I simply going to have to go down a different route? Surely somebody at Sonos or Sonance thought about this when designing these? P.s. Sonos tech support were clueless on this, simply saying the 12.5mm plasterboard would hold the speakers in place.
My sonos is connected wirelessly and once per three songs it will cut out the music and then resume playing. My diagnostics report is ****. What is up with the connect:amp?*Moderator Note: Removed personal identifiable information from original post*
Hello, searched the previous listings. Hopefully not repeating. I have BT whole home wifi premius disks, wifi extenders. Would really like to be able to us my Sonos Play 1 (I know a bit old but still work). out of wifi range of the main router.I can connect my sonos to the main router. Hi All! Hope this message finds you well. Hoping to get some recommendations on the number and placement of Sonos ceiling speakers in my family’s new construction home. The image below shows the open concept 9 foot ceiling design: Living Room (23’ 2” x 18’ 11” – Cathedral Ceiling), Dining (12’ x 14’ 11”), Kitchen (10’ 8 ½ ” x 14’ 11”) & a hallway down the side. Additionally, Screened Porch (16’ x 17’ 11 ½" - Cathedral Ceiling). We’re considering a 55” Samsung Frame TV (red box location) mounted to the right of the fireplace with a Sonos Sound Bar below. Considering either ceiling speakers (sonos architectural speakers) in living room only (4 architectural speakers with one amp) in addition to sonos sound bar below tv or throughout main living space for music/surround sound throughout (6 architectural speakers with one amp). Of course, this can get pricey and open to other options to save money. Any suggestions on proper placement based on dimensions and where to place/quantify et

I have had my set up for less than 3 months and my Sub Woofer has quit working. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong with it or things I need to check to see why it is not working? Thank you
Buckle up because this is a real doozy:I received the Roam for Father’s Day and have been playing a lot of music through my home theater setup (Arc + 2 Ones) and my Roam at the same time. Today, after briefly playing music through both my home theater and my Roam via AirPlay, I noticed that my home theater wasn’t playing audio while my Roam was. I tried reconnecting via AirPlay to the home theater, but received a generic error message on my iPhone. After a lot of troubleshooting including resetting my router multiple times, contacting customer support, unplugging and replugging the Arc, I ended up performing a factory reset. During the post-reset setup, I had to connect to my Arc to WiFi, but I kept getting an error saying that my WiFi password was incorrect when it was not (I cannot stress this enough). In lieu of writing an even longer post, I ended up hardwiring my Arc into my Xfinity xFi gateway and by some miracle, everything worked seamlessly including the initial setup.I would pre
I have just bought a Sonos Port to be able to stream from my CD player. I have since before 2 Play speakers (L/R) created in ”Living Room”. Now I have added Sonos Port to ”Living Room 2” and then combined these two rooms. Now to the issue:When I am streaming directly to Play5 speakers (L/R) from my Iphone everything works fine but when I try to stream from CD via Sonos Port there is only sound in one of th Play5 speakers.Anyone who have the same problem?Have I done something wrong while setting up the Sonos Port?
Bought an Amp I think within the last six months and it was working fine. Upgraded from ZP100. Now it randomly takes down my system and nothing works I usually manage to get it up and running again by disconnecting the power to the amp. Happens more than it should. This time I’ve pulled power and Ethernet cable and can’t get it to work. At the moment all my other speakers have disappeared into lala land and only the Amp (unused) not registered shows. any suggestions besides factory reset. off to bed to dream about this now lol
I am purchasing a SONOS Arc with surround to connect to a TV. Can I also output sound from a Stereo (with turntable and CD Player) to the SONOS Arc system? Can I do that with a PORT? if yes, is there a PORT setup option to play on SONOS Arc? Thanks.
