Let's talk about Sonos Connect, Connect:AMP, Sonos AMP, and setups using Sonance architectural, or your own speakers and components.

I have a nice surround audio system operating on Onkyo TX-NR609 receiver. Would love to hook a Sonos connect to be able to control and stream via sonos app. My Onkyo TX-NR receiver, however, is not under Onkyo’s “works with Sonos” list. Does it mean that there is no way I can have my current audio system work with Sonos connect? Please assist as I truly wish to have the Sonos streaming “cooperating” with my system. Thanks!
Is it possible to pair a sonos sub to a connect amp in the same way when pairing to a playbase?
I have connected my play 5 to at-lp60 turntable. It does play but is pretty quiet compared to when I play tracks normally. I’m not saying it is unbearably quiet or unclear, just a bit quiet for my liking. Is is this normal? Any suggestions how to make the audio louder. Sorry for basic terms. I am a novice thanks
What is the watts output on the Sonos Sub?
HI, I am wondering if the new Sonos amp bought in USA that has 110/120 voltage work in Europe with 240V? In other words is it Dual voltage?
I have several Play 1, PLAYBASE and a Boost and a friend gave me an old ZP100 as I wanted to connect my garden speakers to my Sonos system. However, I have connected and factory reset and I can't update the firmware. Once I remove the ZP100 from the system it all works perfectly as before, when I do connect it start the update process but won't complete it. I suspect the version it is on may be to old to communicate with my controller, any ideas would be great as I am not in a position to go and buy a new Amp yet. Thanks in advance.
I just obtained a pre-owned PlayBar and the cloth is fraying at the ends. It looks like maybe it has rubbed against something on both ends and the cloth is frayed and curling. I suppose just cutting the frayed ends is the best fix or does anyone have any other suggestions?
Hello, The house I moved into has 4 previously installed Bose (wired) surround sound speakers, so I plan on hooking them into the Sonos Amp to keep things clean. I also now have a Sonos Beam connected into the HDMI (ARC).. I have 3 Questions.. Apologies for so many, but this is a pretty purchase and I wanna make sure I do it right the first time. 1) Because I'll have 4 speakers hooked into the Amp, will I still be able to eventually hook in a Sonos sub to that Amp or am I maxed out? If maxed, do I have any options to hook in a sub down the road? I read somewhere that you can't connect 2 AMPs to a surround sound set-up, so I'm not sure my options. 2) I also have 4 outdoor (wired) speakers which I plan on hooking into another Amp. Will I be able to do this since I already have an amp utilized for my LR (within question 1). I guess my main confusion is where I read about not being able to use multiple amps in a set-up. I'm guessing I can since they sell racks, but I want to make sure.
I'm selling a pre-owned ZP90 on eBay (in order upgrade to Connect:Amp) and a prospective purchaser is asking the age of the unit. Can I tell the age of my Sonos unit by the serial number or hardware version?
I have an existing system that I have been very happy with it. I am about to add the Sonance outdoor speakers powered by a sonance amp linked to my existing system via Sonos Connect. I'll be using in-ground speakers with 14 gauge 4 wire in-ground speaker wire I'm pretty clear on how to set this up and really only have one technical challenge I am hoping others have solved and can provide some advice on. My specific question - in a house with no basement or crawl space and limited attic access, what is the best way to get my speaker wires from my amp inside the house to the outside area where the speakers are buried? The good news is that all my equipment sits on an exterior wall inside the house and on the other side of this wall (i..e outside) is the perfect spot to begin running my speaker wires for the in ground speakers. So I just need to figure out the cleanest and most structurally sound way to pass those speaker wires from inside to outside. Most of the videos I have
Hi Does anyone know if it's possible to put some sort of In Line Volume Control when running 4 speakers from the new Sonos Amp Setup is 2 speakers in Kitchen and 2 outdoors. Issue is would like to be able to adjust the volume of each pair separately as the outdoor ones tend to be turned up more but then it's too loud in the kitchen. Any ideas? Cheers
I have a Sonos Amp wired to 4 ceiling speakers. I also have a TV installed on an adjacent wall without the ability to attach an HDMI ARC to the amp. Is there technology, or a solution to link my TV into the AMP wirelessly to create my ceiling speakers as a sound output for the TV. (im thinking HDMI ARC wireless adapter) or something similar? Appreciate any pov's
I currently have in my living rooms a sonos playbar, sub and 2 ones, but I bought a sonos amp and 2 ceiling speakers to give it a cleaner look. Will it still be true 5.1 surround sound or should I put the ceiling speakers in another room and leave my current set up?
Can I drive two pairs of Bose Free Space 51s with One Sonos Amp?
My son (7 months old) managed to grab my Beam and drop it on the floor, resulting in some major scratches (see pic). Any ideas on how to remove them, or at least make them less visible? Perhaps a pen will do, but what color code is the black Beam?
I have a connect amp and a playbar. I had a powered sub plugged into the amp and everything was great. I decided to add 2 bookshelf speakers to the amp as well for surround. I hooked it all up and did the surround setup in my browser. Now I only show one Sonos component and have no more signal going to the sub. The surround is working though. I'm about ready to toss this whole system and got back to a wired setup. The sound is great but it's been a pain in the ass. If anybody can tell me how to my sub back I'd sure appreciate it.
Hi, Please could you tell me, is it possible to connect a wifi vinyl turntable with play one without connect or other equipment. Thank you
My Sonos Connect will no longer power on. Tried multiple outlets
Im very satisfied with the Sonos hardware and wireless streaming technology throughout the house, but the content of what we can play on out speakers is thin. It would be great if Sonos had an AM/FM tuner that could send local radio broadcasts to the speakers around our house. (Think NPR broadcasts from our local public radio stations that aren’t available to stream online.) Yes, I have a connect, but it’s connected to our stereo system. And I f I want to play the radio through the stereo and Sonos there’s a terrible delay. No good. The only solution at this point is a second connect and a dedicated radio tuner.
Hi, I rather like the included banana plugs with the Amp. I am using an Amp with a set of ceiling speakers and want to selectively switch out for a set of stand-mounted bookshelf speaker. Where can I buy a second set of the stock Sonos banana plugs? George
I am looking to have speakers out by the pool and I have the Sonos Connect amp, a TIC GS50 passive sub and two Polk SAT30 speakers outside by the pool and looking to connect them to Sonos. But with the sub being a 125W RMS/250 peak with 8 ohm standard and 4 ohm with satellites, and the satellites being 8 ohm compatible 100 watt..... I am seeing that I need to get an external amp to power mainly the sub. Any help on how much of an amp I need ? I have found some external amps that can provide that are fairly inexpensive (under $100) and will automatically turn on and off....but just not sure how much of an amp I need.....?? I am assuming I only need the additional amp for the sub as the satellites would go directly to the Sonos Connect Amp. If the RMS for the sub is 125 W, and the Sonos Connect is 55 per channel, would I then only need 60 watts from the external amp ? Not sure if it makes a difference for anything but the wires coming from the sun are L +- and R+- (so four wires).
So new user to Sonos but have some history in previous home audio setups. My current setup is a PlayBar hooked up to the TV to play audio which I will call "zone 1". I have purchased the new Amp product with the intention of using it to power 2 Klipsch outdoor speakers which I will call "zone 2". Seems pretty straight forward on the setup. My question is around attaching an existing Klipsch sub that I have to save the big $$ on purchasing a Sonos sub. Can I attach my 3rd party sub to the Amp AND then have that sub part of the interior "zone 1". (i.e. I want the sub to be played inside as part of the TV setup in zone 1 and not come on when zone 2 outside is played). Thanks in advance for the help.
"SONOS - Have you sorted out the problems that people are obviously having the the Virgin Media Superhub 3? It seems neither you nor VM are actually providing a solution. Just pointing people at a link with a complex work around is not satisfactory."
Will the phantom center speaker, produced by the Sonos Amp, be of lower quality if the Amp is fed only a stereo input signal, compared to if the Amp is fed a true 5.1 surround input signal?
I currently have a PlayBar, Sub, and 2 Play1s configured in surround mode. I am moving to a new home soon that has 4 ceiling mounted speakers that seem to terminate in a built-in cabinet below where the TV will be mounted. I'm wondering how to best utilize those speakers in a new configuration. Should I get a new Sonos Amp to drive those and let them "replace" the Play1s (if that can even be configured that way)? Could the Sonos Amp live in a cabinet without any problems with heat? I'd appreciate any advice the community can provide. Tony
