Question

Is there a way to adjust group delay?

Is there a way to adjust the group delay on the Sonos Connect S1s? I have 2 Polk Soundbars and they echo because there's no delay option on either of them (dumb of Polk).

No, the 75ms delay is ‘built in’ to the firmware for any line in on the Sonos software, to allow the Sonos system to synch all rooms.

Unfortunately, there is no way to synchronize the CONNECT with any other company’s soundbars to make surround speakers.

Hi, Bruce mean to say for multi room audio not surround speakers. I can't adjust the lipsync or audio delay on the bars themselves as they don't have it and seems the Sonos app has no correction for this problem.

The same delay applies; it’s inherent in the way Sonos devices work.

As @kdowling suggests, line ins of either type can only increase, not decrease. Digital line ins (HDMI-ARC and optical) tend to be short delays, analogs are longer. You pay that full delay of 75ms once you the signal a home theater room, though.

I’m lost on this one. You have two (2) Polk soundbars. How are you integrating a Connect (which I assume S1, means the Connect is a Gen 1) with the Polks? Do the Polks have a second Audio-In in addition to the Audio-In from a TV? Or...Are you just using the Polks as stand-alone speakers.

Since it’s Halloween in the US ...what type of FrankenSonos are you building 😂
