microphone activation on beam

How do i get the microphone to activate. when i connected alexa on my sonos one speaker the microphone light came on.but when doing it on the beam there is no light or alexa.

    @UKMedia. already tried those suggestions and never cured the problem. so im starting to run out of ideas now. maybe i should just return the beam and sonos one and get amazon devices.

    I should have done that 1st.
    They got me to use my Nvidia sheild as the controler and it worked first time.
    The problem looks like it was saved cookies on my ( samsung s7 edge) directing the linking up of alexa voice back to the sonos app and not directing it to my amazon account for link-up.
    So after linking my "Sonos Beam" with alexa voice using the Tablet the microphone activated instantly and alexa was working fine, I then switched back to my mobile phone cleared all browser cookies in my Chrome browser and completed the setup of alexa voice control to my "Sonos One" speaker with no problems at all.

    Hope this bit of info helps some of you guys out as well.
