Alexa Guard

This is pretty cool. Wonder if it will be supported by Sonos One/Beam?

I saw the announcement but I didn't think this was released by Amazon yet?

I would guess not right away, but whether it gets implemented in Sonos depends on how it works, and if Amazon releases it to other devices besides echo.

Speaking of how it works, I'd think it would need to work one of two ways. The first being that 'suspicious sounds' becomes sort of like a wake word. Meaning the echo is listening/processing the sounds locally and then sending audio to the cloud for further processing. The second way is that echo just send every sound to the cloud when it's in alarm mode, not bothering to process it at all. I'm not usually overly concerned about privacy, but if it's the 2nd method concerns me.

I'd also wondering how it handles a dog barking and similar sounds.

    Hi Danny

I understand the privacy concerns but the fact that you can turn it off and that you have to trigger it specifically, addresses that IMHO. The other interesting feature is Hunches and if this will also include Sonos use as a profile.
