Why is my Sonos ARC SL make a call to googlesyndication-cn.com?

Hello all

I received an alert of my router that my Arc SL soundbar tried to connect to http://pagead2.googlesyndication-cn.com:443/.  Thankfully, the router did it’s job and blocked the request.

Why is my soundbar attempting to reach google servers in China?  What possible reason could there be for a soundbar to attempt to contact a website irrespective of the fact that no one was home and no media was being played through it?  I bought the Arc SL specifically for the point of it having no microphone and was ostensibly more privacy focused.  Turns out, this may be misguided thinking...

Hi @CrimsonTide25

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

I would like to look into this for you. Could you please log into your router, find the relevant log, take a screenshot, censor where advisable and post it here? Please also submit a support diagnostic and reply here with the number given. Thanks.

Also, f you ever get a similar notification from your router again, could you please submit another diagnostic immediately afterwards (or as soon as you can if you are not at home), reporting the number given here again?

Incidentally, I don’t think that server is located in China - https://check-host.net/ip-info?host=pagead2.googlesyndication-cn.com - but I think we probably agree that’s beside the point.
