In the manual it says: “Note that Line-In is disabled on Era 100s that are being used as surround speakers in a Sonos home theater.”
What about a simple stereo-setup with two 100s?

As long as they’re not set up in surround mode, both should be fine.

+14They will work fine. I have a pair of Fives. One is connected to my turntable and the other is connected to my CD player. I just pick which line in I want to use and then the music plays through them as a pair.
