Just purchased Starlink Gen 3 and my Sonos (Player 1) will not connect (cannot be detected).  I am not tech savvy and I am looking for help with an explanation in non tech language if possible.  I have used TP-link router prior to Starlink for my other internet service.  Can my Sonos system be “found” using Starlink network somehow?  Thank you for any help, step by step is best.

Hi @Libpatts, welcome to the Sonos Community!

Sorry to hear you’re having issues connecting after changing to Starlink. Unfortunately, satellite connections aren’t a supported network type for use with Sonos, our system requirements page lists this as unsupported and has more information about what you do need.

While Starlink isn’t supported, it doesn’t mean it wont work, just that we are unable to troubleshoot and offer support for these types of systems. I’ve found a few threads from other community users that might help you getting your Sonos system working with Starlink:

I hope this helps!

Thank you.  I had read this might work but am unable to find the ethernet adapter in the Starlink shop at this time.

Not sure it’s much help, but my friend, who was using StarLink gen 1 products didn’t have any issues hanging his mostly Spotify use Sonos system off the WiFi generated. That system (I monkeyed with it for non Sonos reasons) did not have an Ethernet port on it. An oddity, I thought at the time.

I’m not very familiar with their gen. 3 product, but I’d certainly try set up with output using any network security first, and once it’s proven to work, then update to whichever network security protocol you may want to use.
