Do I have to use the USB-A to USB-C cable provided with the Sonos Roam? I'd prefer to use a USB-C to USB-C cable connected to an Apple 20W USB-C Power Adapter. Will this configuration harm the Roam in anyway?

No, it’s just that a significantly larger number of people have USB A chargers than they do USB C chargers.
There’s no reason why you can’t just use the USB C charger directly. Part of the USB tech now checks for charging speed, so it shouldn’t harm your Roam.
