I have a customer who wants an outdoor TV with outdoor speakers. I'm thinking of using a Sonos Amp for his TV audio and extending HDMI over Cat6 to his mechanical closet where the Amp is in the dry. My question is will ARC work over an extender? The run is about 60 FT.
I did a Google search, and came up with this page:

https://www.firefold.com/blog/how-to-run-hdmi-long-distances/

It suggests that HDMI will run at least 50 feet.

I'd be pretty careful about any repeaters, and I'd stay away with any of the HDBaseT systems, until you confirm that they are compliant with the latest version of HDMI, which would include the CEC (and ARC) process.
There are some out there that work with ARC and CEC but they’re not cheap.
Heh. That's true with about anything. You can get it, if you're willing to pay :)

I'm not an installer, and am not familiar with these kinds of devices, so have no worthwhile input. I can, however, use Google to search for data. Then all I have to do is analyze whether or not I think the data is correct/significant/worthwhile.
