Connecting Vinyl Player to Sonos Beam with Sonos Port

Hi,

I’m looking to connect a record player (which has a built-in preamp) to my Sonos Beam and One SL’s. I heard that I could purchase a Sonos Port and connect the Port to my Beam via Wi-Fi to be able to play records over my sound system. Would this work?
