Hi all,I started renewing my 5.1 system as follows: The AVR Yamaha MusicCast drives as front channels a pair of PROAC Response 3.5 through pre-outs and two Audio Research finals, the central channel always PROAC, the sub and surround Jamo. Now, to simplify use, I thought of replacing the AVR and the central channel with ARC, and the current sub and surround wired with SUB 3th gen and a pair of ONE SLs.Up to here everything works quite well. At this point I bought an AMP with the idea of using it to drive the pair of PROAC 3.5 as front channels but with great surprise and equally disappointment I discover that AMP cannot be integrated with ARC in a 5.1 home theater configuration !!!It seems incredible that this possibility was not foreseen. It would be interesting to understand if the problem is of a hardware nature or simply could be solved with a firmware upgrade.
Hello to everyone, I just got a playbar and connected to the TV and I works great. My problem is that I'm not able to connect to my account from the app. I can connect well from the website but not from the app, meaning I can't use the services like napster or Spotify. It keeps saying that the email or password is incorrect and I don't understand why. I've tried changing it twice already but I still have the same problem. Any idea why ? Thanks a lot Romain
Has anyone else noticed their loudness toggle while using the Arc not working since the 14.18 update that fixed the trueplay and sub issues after the 14.12 update ? Mine hasn't worked since and I've been hoping updates after would fix it but none have, I've contacted support today but he said all he can do is pass it on for further investigation.
Dear Sonos community,Let me preface by saying that I have searched this website as well as the vast space that is Google and the rest of the web to find out if anyone has had my problem. I couldn’t find anything. I keep wondering if I’m searching for the wrong thing – so if my question has been discussed already, I apologize. My setup: I own a LG TV, an Apple TV 4K and a Sonos Ray. I use only the Siri Remote to turn on the TV and use the Apple TV, I never enter LG’s interface.I connected the Sonos Ray through this instruction on Sonos’s site to my TV (the section which says “Optical or optical adapter”)My problem is: When I change the volume, both the Apple TV’s and the Sonos Ray’s status light will “light up”, indicating that volume has in- or decreased. Also, on the TV there is an interface indicator which shows Plus and Minus signs, telling me if volume has de- or increased. But sometimes, when I hold the remote wrong (or the front part is covered by my leg or something), and increase
Hi, My grandpa uses Sony Bluetooth headphones to the Samsung TV, which is equipped with a Sonos playbar and two speakers. The problem is, the second the Bluetooth turns off, the TV sound then goes through the TV speaker and Sonos, which creates an echoing sound. This is also visible in the settings from the TV: Bluetooth shuts off when the headphones are turned off, the optical sound turns into TV speaker. Does anyone knows a solution to prevent this from happening without having to change the settings every time?
Hello- I have had an arc+sub for about a year now with LG C1 tv… since I have had it the arc will often not come out of standby and wake up when I turn the tv on… most noticeable in the morning after things have been shut off for the night but it seems somewhat random and intermittent.when this happens, usually the tv will revert back to tv speaker and if I switch back to HDMI arc nothing will happen.Other times, the tv output will stay as HDMI arc but the arc stays in standby as far as I can tell and no sound. If I try to change the volume, the tv shows a volume icon with a line through it like a mute symbol. Also, switching tv sound output to something else and then switching back to HDMI arc does not change anything. The only way I have found to get sound back is to unplug the arc and replug. Any ideas what could be going on? very frustrating issue that I have been just putting up with… but i am about ready to just ditch the Sonos. thanks
Hello, I couldn’t find a similar topic yet. I currently own a Beam Gen 2 which I am very happy to have. I will be moving in a few months where my living room will be bigger. We’ll be watching movies from about 4 meters in a room that’s about 20 m2, maybe a little less. We’ll be listening to music as well. Should I 1: sell my beam gen 2 and buy an arc, and in a few years add a sub (mini) and 2 one’s for a surround system? This will take me some time though. 2: buy a sub (or sub mini) immediately and later 2 one’s for surround. Maybe to ask a simpler question if above is not clear, since I’m actually asking a few questions at the same time: Is a Beam Gen 2 sufficient with a sub? Or is an Arc better? I can add a sub later probably but this will take me a year or two. I also am in doubt between a sub or sub mini. I have difficulty choosing. Hopefully I’m not making this too complicated. Thanks a lot!
Hi, Mostly in the question, I am attempting to connect a Samsung ‘The Frame TV’ to the Sonos network and it isn’t anywhere near as simple as one would hope. I am trying to play it out of a Gen 2 Play:5 and a Roam SL. Has anyone successfully tried this? I also have a Roam SL that we are using as a mini soundbar, does anyone know if I can connect this via bluetooth to the TV? Seems a little crazy that there is all this tech and innovation yet connections are still as convoluted as cables! :D Thanks in advance,I just want to enjoy the speakers!
For the love of the sweet BABY JESUS, will you please fix the audio sync issues with Sonos products. It is a known issue on every community board in the universe. I spent $1500 for a Sonos Arc, 2 One SL’s and a Sub mini. They are grouped together. They are plugged into an ARC port on my VERY GOOD Sony Bravia XBR 55’ television and I use an Apple TV 4K (2022 Newest version). That’s it! One TV, One Apple TV and your speakers plugged into a great TV and the audio sync (video is faster than the audio) exists in varying degrees on every Apple TV app: Youtube TV, Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, Disney Plus. All of them have audio sync issues. By the way, the TV audio sync adjuster in the Sonos App does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. It doesn’t change the sound sync at all. It doesn’t work.If you’re not going to fix the problem, SAY SO! That way, I can just return the entire system and try something else..Bose maybe?
Hi, i’m looking for some advice on a modification to my home theatre set up. I had until recently my tv set up with a Sonos playbase and a Sub (gen 2). I was very happy with how that sounded.I recently changed the configuration of my set up and put the tv on the wall, this has made the playbase and therefore the sub redundant. So i want to replace the playbase with a soundbar but i do not have the budget to buy an arc and think the original playbar is too chunky so was looking at a Beam or even a Ray. Would someone be able to tell me if the Ray would work fine with the Sub (gen2) i think i might have read somewher that the sub would be too powerful for the ray. If that is the case would the Beam work fine instead? Would i get away with the 1st gen Beam? Things to consider, my tv is a relatively new 55 inch LG but does not have Dolby Atmos. Many thanks in advance.
Hello,I planned to connect my projector (XGIMI Horizon Pro) to a Sonos bar and 2 satellites. The projector comes with an optical output, so I’ll probably buy a Sonos Ray or reuse my existing Playbar. The problem is that the projector is placed on one end of the room, while the bar will be on the opposite side, and I cannot run a long optical cable from one end to the other. Is there any solution to this?Thank you in advance,Davide
I purchased a home that has an HTD MCA-66 with CAT5 cables running to every room. I have 6 zones, each with the corresponding HTD wall volume control. The HTD has a 4 pin Phoenix connector AND a corresponding CAT5 connector for each zone.I’d like each speaker pair in each of the 6 zones to operate separately via a Sonos Port (one Port for each Zone).Question: Where am I hooking the RCA from each Sonos Port to? Audio in on the MCA-66? Or do I set it up as a sub zone within each zone? Can I remove and bypass the wall power and volume controls and only use Sonos for everything? Lastly - how can I make the speaker pair in my living room operate as RL and RR for surround with my Sonos Playbar? Do I need a Sonos Amp for that? Or would one of my Sonos Ports suffice?Thank you for your help!
TV to Arc via HDMI, Arc wirelessly to Sub, SL’s (one room) and Amp (another room) and passives wired to Amp. The sound is echoey when the Amp is on and grouped with the Arc. Is this because of delay and how do I fix. My network is super fast and the Arc and Amp are within a couple feet of each other. If indeed the wireless setup is the issue, what’s an alternate setup?
Hi all,Just bought a Sonos arc and I’m having a bit of trouble setting up a TV. My current set up is an HDFury Arcana that has a Chromecast plugged into it and then one output going into my projector and one arc output going into the Sonos Arc. Things I’ve tried:> unplugging everything> checking the arcana module about CEC problems> don’t have a CEC TV to set it up with> skipped through the TV set up in sonosPlease advise, absolutely stumped on how to use a Sonos Arc in this setup!
Hi all. So I was finally able to isolate the issue and recreate. Currently have a Sonos beam connected via arc to my LG TV. Everything works and sounds great……until I set a reminder on my echo show which announces on several other echo devices AND my Sonos Beam through my tv. What happens is, once the reminder is communicated through my Beam, the volume on my Sonos Beam is altered (significantly lowered) and my 100% volume is not very loud at all. Normally I can’t hardly stand next to it at 100% volume but after this reminder I can crank it to 100% no problem. sIm struggling to figure out if this is a Sonos, Alexa, or TV issue? Only when I unplug the tv, beam, and fire stick will the audio revert back? Any ideas? ThanksRick
When I first got my arc for 2 years ago I had a problem. Sometimes the sound just disappeared. After a updated everything was ok. But now after firmware 14.20 this seems to be back. Only difference is that now it is enough to toggle tv on and off. The first time I had to pull the plug. Hopefully a new firmware update will fix this issue soon. I think there is way to much firmware problems with my sonos system, and I start regretting my latest purchase, two fives and a sub. Her I have problems with trueplay which only works on left speaker and sub 😢
Hello,I experience massive problems with my beam gen 2 when watching Multichannel PCM 5.1 content. While Multichannel PCM 5.1 content is playing I get crackling and popping sounds out of the beam sporadically but constant. The issue occurs with Multi PCM 5.1 format only.No issues at all With Dolby Atmos / Dolby TrueHD / DTS / Stereo / Dolby Digital.I tested Multichannel PCM 5.1 Content with:Apple TV 4k -> Cracklings and popsPS5 -> Cracklings and popsWhat i’ve tried:Changed HDMI Cables -> no effectTried different settings in the sonos app -> no effectRestarted everything -> no effectchanged sonosnet channels -> no effectMy Setup:Philips OLED807 SeriesBeam gen 2 with two surround speakersSettings: Multichannel bypass on TV with eARC turned onSonos connected over ethernetHere I have a diagnostics code: 412271189There are other people on the forums who experience the same issues, so i think its more of a software problem rather then a hardware issue. Some say that this prob
I’ve not be able to find instructions on how to connect the Amp wirelessly or if it is possible. I have a theatre room upstairs and my modem is downstairs. I have one Amp, which is going to power two sets of wired speakers. I just need to know the correct way to connect the Amp to the network wirelessly.
I have two Playbars both bought from the same shop a few weeks apart in 2016, connected via Optical cable to two TVs. One with a new Samsung TV worked immediately with the TV remote to control the volume of the Playbar. The other was on an older Panasonic TV and the Playbar volume never worked with the Remote. The TV sound came out of the TV speakers and the Sonos Playbar, but you had to control the Sonos Playbar volume levels through the Sonos App. I assumed this was due to the age of the TV. However, I have now moved the Samsung TV to the other room and connected it to this 2nd Playbar and the Remote still does not control the Playbar volume. It still has to be controlled on the Sonos App. I am now thinking there must be an issue with the Playbar. They look identical on the system, same version, hardware, series ID. The only difference in setup is the one not working on remote hasn’t got Trueplay tuning set up as everytime I try that, it errors saying I’m not moving enough eve
