Hi everyone, through an HDMI switch connected to AMP, I stream content from different sources to the TV, ps4, intel NUC 7th generation, satellite decoder and more. When I use Netflix on the NUC, even though 5.1 audio is enabled in the PC audio settings, the PCM stereo audio format icon appears in the smartphone Sonos app.One would think there might be an audio driver issue however if I connect the PC to the ARC, the data stream is recognized correctly and the PCM 5.1 icon appears on the app.Could this be an AMP firmware issue? Thanks
In my living room, I have two TVs mounted next to each other (because football). And I have a Sonos Arc as my soundbar. One TV has an HDMI 2.1 eArc port that supports Sony Atmos, the other TV is older and only has an optical sound output. And then my Arc, of course, just has one input for sound.I often have a football game playing on each TV, and would like to switch between which TV is outputting sound with just the push of a button a remote. Is there a way I can accomplish this setup with my current TVs and my Arc soundbar with it's single HDMI input? Or even if I had 2 TVs that have an audio port that is 2.1 HDMI, is it possible to make that work (I'm not sure that there are HDMI switch boxes that support eArc tech)?
Hello everyone, when I play a song through Spotify application from Sony smart tv, the sound is perfect and can go very loud if you want, but when I play a song from Spotify application on phone or from Spotify app inside Sonos application, the sound from Sonos beam cannot get very loud at all..
I’d like to play music from my Arc while watching TV. However, when I do, the Audio from my TV does not switch back to the TV’s speakers and instead I only hear music. Is there a way to have my TV automatically revert back to it’s standard Audio if I’m playing music on my Arc? My Arc is connected to my TV via HDMI ARC. If not, is the solution to purchase another Sonos product, so that I would be able to play music from that device and keep the audio from my TV coming out of my Arc?
Hi,I am trying to connect a Gen 1 Beam to an older style display monitor that has analog RCA out (and no HDMI ARC), to an Analog to Digital Converter to the small digital audio TOSlink/HDMI adapter (that comes with the Beam) to HDMI cable into the Beam. Display RCA Out => ADC convertor => Beam digital audio/HDMI adapter cable => HDMI cable => BeamNo success.I definitely have an RCA out signal from the display. I have tested this by connecting directly to an old Receiver. The Beam setup does not find the signal.Has anyone successfully used this configuration? There are no success (or unsuccessful stories) I can find online.I can’t understand why it wouldn’t work (however messy it may seem). The older style display monitor is of excellent quality and is a shame I can’t use my Beam with it for some decent sound. I use an Amazon Firestick in the Display to stream Netflix, Prime, Spotify and the local terrestrial TV channels that are available via each station’s App installed t
I have a Sonos Beam Gen.2 hooked to an LG TV and I use an nVidia TV Shield Pro for streaming. Everything works perfectly when I’m watching regular TV or playing on the Playstation 5. I can see in the Sonos mobile app various TV channels operating in Dolby Digital 2.0 or Dolby Digital 5.1. On the PS5 the sound is DTS Surround 5.1. Both TV and Playstation sound work flawlessly. The problem starts when I watch Netflix, Prime Video or Plex from the nVidia TV Shield. Occasionally, about once or twice per hour, the sound just stops working out of the blue while the video keeps running. The temporary fix I found is to cycle the sound output of the TV back to internal TV speakers, then after 1 sec of sound on speakers, the TV switches automatically back to Audio Out (Optical/HDMI ARC) and, magically, the Beam sound works again. Until it happens again 20 min later. I also detect sometimes a bit of skipping or small cracking or popping, but it’s very mild. Usually these smaller things happen mor
Hi, I recently bought a Sonos Arc. And I’m wondering if the settings are correct. I have a Samsung Frame (2022) with a one-connect box which has HDMI e-arc, which I connected the Arc to. Now watching most streaming services I end up getting Dolby multichannel PCM 5.1. Unless the show is offered in Atmos, then Atmos will show up in the app. So my question is why I don’t get Dolby Digital plus instead. I’ve checked my TV settings and I can’t choose ‘passthrough’ watching built-in apps like Netflix. My setup is:ArcSub (gen 3)2 SL Ones Curious to hear what you think. Thijs
I've recently purchased a Sonos Arc and installed . I did this by simply connecting the arc to my TV via HDMI arc. The setup is pretty straight forward. However, after turning the television into standby mode (off), it disconnects from the Sonos arc and I have to reconnect it all over again. There are many users reporting the same issue. SOme people came up some solutions, such as unplug chromcast, changing some settings etc. I have tried everything other people suggested. So far nothing has worked for me, very frustrating. Any suggestions? I will call technical support tomorrow. If the problem cannot solved,, I will return the product.
Hi all, I've been having an audio related issue with my sonos arc using a Sky Q 1TB box. In the past month or so, when changing from a HD channel to a SD (standard def) channel, I suddenly lose sound altogether. The only temporary solution I have found to rectify this is to turn off the Sky Q box via the remote, turn it back on, then the audio comes back again. This does seem to happen infrequently, but when it does it's incredibly frustrating as you can imagine. My audio setting on my Sky Q box is set to Dolby Digital. I really do not want to have to change this to normal. My in built TV Netflix app supports dolby atmos without any problems. I have updated all software, including on the Sky Box, my TV, my App via play store, to no avail. My TV for reference is aPhilips - 65PUS7556/12If anyone else is having a similar problem please let me know. Any help is appreciated. Many thanks,Harrison.
Hi all,I started renewing my 5.1 system as follows: The AVR Yamaha MusicCast drives as front channels a pair of PROAC Response 3.5 through pre-outs and two Audio Research finals, the central channel always PROAC, the sub and surround Jamo. Now, to simplify use, I thought of replacing the AVR and the central channel with ARC, and the current sub and surround wired with SUB 3th gen and a pair of ONE SLs.Up to here everything works quite well. At this point I bought an AMP with the idea of using it to drive the pair of PROAC 3.5 as front channels but with great surprise and equally disappointment I discover that AMP cannot be integrated with ARC in a 5.1 home theater configuration !!!It seems incredible that this possibility was not foreseen. It would be interesting to understand if the problem is of a hardware nature or simply could be solved with a firmware upgrade.
