Problems with Google Assistant on Sonos One

Hello, I've owned a pair of Sonos One for about 2-3 months now and they are amazing. Especially since Google Assistant launched for Sonos speaker in the Netherlands last month. The first few weeks were very good and I had little complaints. But since 1-2 weeks Google Assistant stop responding to even the most basic questions. Only when I stand next to the speaker that has the voice enabled and I talk really slow she sometimes understands what I mean. We have our Google Assistant in English, since my girlfriend is Swedish. Even tho there is bilingual support in Google Assistant there is no way to name rooms/devices in Dutch and Swedish. So we choose the middle ground and set everything in our house in English. I've already tried the following: [list] [*]Setting it too Dutch. It's now in dutch and it's far from perfect. But she does seem to respond a bit better now. But this is not a solution. Google Assistant wont play Spotify music.

Verbally asking Google on my sonos arc to play music results in this response: "Sorry, it looks like you haven't set up Spotify Premium on your Sonos app. To play from Spotify Premium, link the same account on both Sonos and Google Assistant."I've tried looking at other posts but I haven't seen any working solutions. I've done exactly as Google said as well as reinstalling apps and reconnecting Spotify to Google assistant and to Sonos. But I still get the same message every time.

Sonos not playing broadcasts

I've tried on my Beam, a Sonos One Gen 2 in my kitchen and my Sonos One Gen 2's as surrounds in my living room. None of them will play a broadcast message no matter where it originates from. I've checked for updates, everything is up to date. All of them will send a message but non of them will play any. Otherwise, the GA seems to be working fine. This is quite inconvenient though. Hope there is an update to fix this soon.

Google Assistant room assignment PROBLEMS

I have Google Assistant on all of my Sonos devices.  And for the past year everything has worked great, including my integration with my smart home devices.   I can say things like “Google turn off the light” and it knows what room I’m in and does the right thing.   Today I moved a single ONE to a different room.  Re-assigned the room in the Sonos app.  Then re-assigned the room in the Google Home app.  Total chaos followed.  Now NONE of my devices know what room they are in, and turn lights on in the wrong room, or for the entire house.   I unlinked Sonos from Google Home, started over.  Didn’t help.   Then I tried moving things around to different rooms, experimented with a few things.  Didn’t help.  Unlinked a second time.  Didn’t help.    Any ideas?   It seems like when I re-link my Sonos to Google, Google still has a memory of the bad set-up.  Is there a way to totally wipe the Sonos configuration from Google and start over?  Unlinking didn’t help.

Hi,   Is it possible to group speakers through Google Assistant? For example saying “Hi Google, play x in the kitchen and the living room”. It doesn’t seem to work for me.

Will Sonos ever enable Google Assistant voice calling?

Clearly our Sonos Beam has mics and the ability to output sound. It also has Internet access. Are there any actual hardware limitations preventing voice calls being enabled, or is this a business decision by Sonos and/or Google? Will Sonos ever enable Google Assistant voice calling?

Sleep Timer doesn't work with Google Assistant

I just set up Google Assistant, and I'm largely happy with it, except that sleep timers don't work. When I have spotify playing, if I say "Sleep Timer for 10 minutes", Google Assistant responds "Sleep timers can only be set when media is playing". Is there any way to get this to work?

If i wanted to switch back to Alexa or vis a versa , Alexa to Google on my Sonos one app, what is the correct and easiest way to do this? must I reinstall the voice service again? thanks

Controlling the Google Assistant audio (not speaker)

Hello, I've actived the Google Assistant on my Sonos one which is working great so far. However the audio que and the answers Google gives are way louders than the current volume (5%) should allow for. It's next to my bed and esp. at night this is quite annoying. Is there any way to control this? Also maybe it's an idea to introduce the feature that Google Home speakers have for some time now, the ability to set a max volume at night hours.

I can't reach the internet right now

I am constantly getting the “I can’t reach the internet right now” from Google Assistant (GA) running on both my Sonos One speakers.  GA on my phone has no such issues and neither do three Google Home Minis in my home.  The speakers themselves have Wifi connections because I can use the Sonos app to play musing on them with no issues.   Suggestions?   This is quite annoying.   I bought two One’s in December 2017 only because of the promis of GA availability in the near future, then had to put up with the constant delays from Sonos to the point where I had forgotten all about this.  A few weeks ago I realized that GA for Sonos is finally out and installed it, only to get these issues.  Have no interest in Alexa, Amazon already knows way too much about me to give them yet more information.

I have three Sonos devices in my current setup, all connected to Google Assistant (GA). Two are Google One: gen 2's and I'm seeing some interesting behavior on one called "Master Bath." To be clear: [list] [*]GA works most of the time on each of them [*]In each case, GA is fully responsive through the target speaker, but says the device itself is "not available right now." [*]"Master Bath" is a unique name on the network [*]Master Bath is visible to the Google Home app and to the Sonos app when this happens [*]There is no outage currently reported at [url=https://status.sonos.com/]https://status.sonos.com/[/url] [/list] Several times, I have started music (e.g. Ok, Google, play Led Zeppelin or stream MSNBC, etc.). Then, when I say, "Ok, Google, stop," it replies, "It looks like Master Bath is not available right now." Other times, it has been quiet (I stop the playing through the Sonos app in order to get it to stop), and I say, "Ok, Google, play Jack White," and it might also reply

Google Assistant and Apple Music

I got Deezer and Spotify working with the sonos and google assistant. But when I try to have my sonos play apple music. It said playing apple music then a few second later it saids apple music is not supported by sonos. Only way to play apple music right now is still with the app. Is this normal?

How do we get ambient sleep sounds to play via Google Assistant/Google Home?

After 5 minutes with Google Assistant controlling my devices in the house it’s already a mile ahead of Alexa who was always rather clunky. And the app was terrible. However one of my favorite things to use my bedroom Sonos One for was to ask Alexa to play Thunderstorm sounds while falling asleep. When I ask Google assistant the same thing all I get is “Alright, Playing lighting and thunderstorm sounds on Google Play Music...Sorry it looks like the subscription to your for* Google Play Music is not supported.” A standard google home device plays ambient sleep sounds without a Google Play subscription. Alexa was kind enough to do the same. But does this mean I’d have to pay for a Google Play Music subscription in order to simply have ambient sounds? I don’t think it’s too early to start having basic expectations of our smart home devices. Turn on lights, tell me the weather, play white noise seem like they should be basic freebies to me. Sonos as default speaker for music?

After the outage earlier today I finally have everything working and I couldn't be happier (I can play, pause and change volume on my old Play 3s with my voice which is all I wanted for two years now). But it's a little unfortunate that in a room with (1) a Google home and (2) a sonos speaker, I still have to append "on the kitchen Sonos" to my requests to begin playing music (otherwise the music plays on the answering Google device). The Google home app lets you configure what the default device is for playing music, and it lists not only my various Google speakers but also my vizio TVs on the network, etc., but it strangely doesn't list my sonos speakers. Is there a way to make this happen?

Google Assistant is experiencing temporary issues today, the 20th of August '19. You may find that you are unable to initiate music playback. My wife has fixed the Google Assistant voice volume thing

I’ve seen tons of complaints on here about the Google Assistant voice being too loud. We had the opposite problem, it was too soft. I mentioned this to my wife yesterday and she sensibly said “just tell the Assistant what you want it to do”.We have determined that this seems to work, addressing the Sonos:“Hey Google, make your voice volume lower” “Hey Google, make your voice volume louder”.On quick experimentation, the voice seems to have four or five volume level settings (it’s hard to discern this at the loudest end).  You can only go up or down by one level at a time. (At the loudest level, I tried “Set your voice volume level three levels lower” and it didn’t understand.)I don’t know if this will also work to adjust volume for alarm tones. It does seem to work for the ‘acknowledgement tone’ that we have turned on.  This is all running on a Sonos Beam.Hopefully not a fluke for us and works for others too. [Maybe this is not technically a question - How about we count the question as

Radio 4 voice command stopped working

I used to be able to start radio 4 with the voice command "OK Google, play BBC Radio 4" now this just leads to Sonos playing Radio 4 Extra. Has any one else seen this to know how to fix it?

How to remove old Speaker from Account and Google Assistant

Hello,   Have some old speakers on my account still, as a result they come up in Google Assistant when linking my account. Any ideas how to remove them (other than the answer I have been able to see online which is they have to be registered with another account).  Or anyone have any ideas how to remove them at least from Google Assistant as a device (they get pulled from the Integration with Sonos, which I assume if from my Sonos account online).

BBC Sounds - Google Assistant

Hi,Now that BBC sounds is on Sonos, does anyone know how to change the Google Assistant default from TuneIn to BBC Sounds? My Google Home Mini uses BBC Sounds. There’s still some BBC stations that aren’t are on TuneIn like Radio 1 Relax and Radio 1 Dance

Any way to play my own music uploaded to Google library?

I'm not surprised that I can't play the music in my local (NAS) library with the new GA/Sonos integration. However, is it also not possible to play music that I've uploaded to my Google Music account? I can do this using the Sonos app. If I try "Hey Google, play (artist) in the office" I get "OK (artist) from Google Play Music playing in the office. Sorry looks like the subscription tier for Google Music is not supported." I've also added "from my library" to the command and that doesn't help.

Google Assistant slow to respond Sonos One

Is anyone else finding Google Assistant very slow to respond? I have a Sonos One in Australia and with Alexa it would respond to a question in around 1s. Ever since Google Assistant was released here i find that the Google Assistant would take 3-5s to respond. Its much slower than Alexa and also compared to the Google Mini i have. Does anyone else have this issue? or a solution to it.

Sonos with Google Home Perhaps not as good as Alexa

So I have a playbar with a sub and a 1st gen Play 5. I successfully linked my sonos account with my Google home account. The Sonos speakers show up as devices, but when i try to give a google home command based on the name it says in my sonos, Google home doesn't know the device. Using Alexa before had no issues with these devices. Can someone explain what the issue is.
