Just set up Google assistant on my Sonos Beam - assistant recognizes my commands like add Milk to shopping list, but when I ask it to play a artist on Spotify it tries and then says - "device isn't available right now" . I can play Spotify music through Sonos app on all speakers including the Beam. I have removed the Google assistant from the Beam and added it back just to see if that fixed it. I did change the name of the device during the process of setting it up. Has anyone run into this error and figured out how to fix it.
Until 2 days ago I did not experience this problem. When I ask Google Assistant to play something on Spotify I first get a conformation it will play it. Followed directly by a message that it cannot play because my Spotify Premium account is not configured correctly. It’s not ‘same same’ in the Sonos app as it in in Assistant according to the error message. The thing is… it is as far as I know. On Sonos we have 4 accounts (mine, wife, kids), the last one used is mine. And on Assistant it is mine.I’ve disconnected and reconnected Assistant, Spotify on the Assistant and Spotify on Sonos. But I keep getting this message.I can still voice control the playlist I put on manually with the app. It will pause and resume the music for example.I saw an older topic also mention this, but that it just ‘fixed itself’.
Hi just got my first Sonos product, a Beam. I’ve got google assistant speakers (Google Home and minis) set up a group to play music all together. I’ve tried to set up my Sonos Beam into this group to play music etc… all together so Google home Max, Nest minis and Sonos Beam together but cannot seem to include my new Beam. Can I please get some advice, this was one of the key reasons for me purchasing the Beam so that I could add it to my existing Google Home group of Speakers. I’m really quite disappointed now. Thanks
Hi, wondering when Google Assistant support is coming to New Zealand? It's available in Australia... seems strange to not be available in NZ. When purchased my Sonos gear was under understanding that Google Assistant support was coming - would be great if roadmap for NZ could be provided. Cheers
So over the last year Google Assistance on sonos (regarding spotify in particular) has been pretty buggy.. now it's completely useless. The response to any/every question I ask now, mainly regarding spotify, is "I'm sorry, I dont know how to help with that" I have 3 other google devices, if I ask them to play spotify on the sonos, no problem, works perfectly. Any way to fix this? Pretty frustrating that the $50 google speaker works flawlessly compared to this $600+ speaker
If I ask google home mini located in the kitchen to play a specific song in another room, ie living room, it says that the content isnt available and it cant perform that action. Cant remember the actual words used. But if I go into the sonos app and search the song, it is available and can be played. Is there any way around this?
I've only been using Google Assistant on Sonos for a couple of days, but I'm noticing that there's a frequent and variable response delay. Often why I say "Hey Google" plus a command to do something, like turn on a light or play some music, there's a delay of up to 10 seconds before it responds. Other times the same command will respond quickly, similar to the speed I'm accustomed to with my Google Home speakers or with Alexa. This delay is unpredictable but happens quite often. There was no similar delay with Alexa on the Sonos One, and the speaker has a good WiFi connection. There is one common pattern to the delay: normally the white LED on top of the Sonos One brightens as soon as I say "Hey Google", stays bright while I speak the following command, blinks for a second or two after I finish speaking as the command is being processed, then then action happens while Google Assistant speaks the response. When there is a delay, the white LED stays bright when I finish speaking and d
I am having an issue in sending a broadcast message from my Sonos One Gen2 and from my Sonos Beam. Whenever I try to send a broadcast from Sonos I receive the error “looks like there aren’t any other speakers connected on your home network so I can’t broadcast your message.” However if I send the instruction via the phone App or via Google Hub, the broadcast works just fine and sends it to all my speakers (delayed but works). I have done the following:Google Assistant on all speakers Default speaker selected for all speakers Address set for all speakers Latest software update for all speakersI have also deleted all the voice assistants from the speakers, unlinked the Sonos account from Google. Rebooted everything and put it all back and still no luck. So working fine on Google side to send and receive but on Sonos can only receive?
Hi all I have recently been experiencing problems with my Sonos One with GA. Everything was working fine until around a couple of weeks ago when Google does not always respond when saying "Hey Google" or "Okay Google", even when the chime sounds. The problem appears to have been getting worse. Also recently, when setting timers (say for cooking etc.) when the time is up and we tell Google to "stop the timer" or "cancel timer" etc., it stops for a bit but then starts beeping after a few seconds. As you can imagine this can be infuriating and the only way to stop it has been to switch off the Sonos from the mains. All in all, i.e. general responsiveness of the Sonos to GA commands seems to be fairly laggy when compared to our Google Home minis which are a lot more snappy and responsive. I'm wondering whether these are just teething issues which Sonos is working through and whether anyone else has experienced patchy performance? Thanks TT
Recently purchased a Sonos One Gen2 to replace a Google Home in my bedroom and I've noticed that the GA support is highly suspect on the One. There are multiple issues that I'm wondering if others are experiencing: 1) No matter what volume I set the speaker, the GA's voice is the same (loud volume), how do I turn her voice volume down? 2) Can I set an alarm volume separately from the speaker volume (similar to what I can do with my Google Home). 3) This is the big one, I often get no response from the Sonos for simple GA commands like what time is it, etc, and eventually GA responds with "There was a glitch, please try again in a few seconds". Is GA on Sonos really this unreliable? It reminds me of my GH when I first got it who knows how long ago (but it runs fantastic now). Appreciate if anyone can provide feedback, maybe I somehow have a defective unit and need to replace it, but somehow I doubt that's the issue. Thanks Sonos community! PS: I also have a Play:5 and a Sub and love
Hi all There have been a lot of requests for the ability to group Sonos devices via voice command to Google Assistant. Whilst this isn't supported yet by Sonos, there is a way of doing this if you have a Logitech Harmony Hub type remote. Here are the steps I've tested: 1/ Open the Harmony Hub App>Harmony Setup; 2/ Add your Sonos players as devices; 2/ Next create an Activity - As an example, lets call this 'Group Sonos'; 3/ Click on Sonos Speakers and then using the link select the specific Sonos devices that you want to group. You can also set the default volume at this stage; 4/ Please link your GA and your Harmony Remote accounts under Add Device>Works with Google>Harmony. If already linked then please Remove the link in the Google Home App and relink. During this process you have the ability to define 'Friendly Names' - there doesn't seem to be a way of doing this any other way. I created 'Group Sonos' and 'Sonos Everywhere' as friendly names; 5/ Save the Act
I was excited to see integration with Google assistant, however when I try to add sonos, the following happens: 1) I go to voice services and add Google Assistant 2) this takes me to the Google screen where it authenticates me using the same email address that's on my sonos account 3) this then redirects me to the sonos authentication 4) after authenticating on sonos, it says I need to register my speakers to my account, so I click Go to Sonos App, and the process starts all over again. This doesn't make sense. My speakers are registered to my account. When I go to the sonos website, and sign in with the same email address, I can see all of my speakers. Elsewhere in this process it says if I go to More > Settings > Account Settings and I don't see "Account" I need to update my sonos system. I do not see "Account" - I see my email address as the linked account and then I see Transfer account. Where is "Account"? I've also confirmed my app and speakers are all up to date.
I have a few recurring issues with google voice and my Sonos ones. Either when I ask to play a radio station the response is OK playing xxx radio station. Sorry I can’t find what you asked for. Or sometimes when I ask to play artist name I get Sorry I can’t do that here but you can ask me to play it on one of your other devices. And sometimes this commands work… wondering if Alexa might be more helpful? We use Google WiFi and have a WiFi point in the neighbouring room to one of the Sonos ones and I wondered if this might cause something funky to happen as I don’t think this was a problem until I upgraded the WiFi points and now have one which is voice enabled. Can anyone help? Please!
I have both Alexa and google assistant integrated into my house. I’m disappointed that there doesn’t seem to be a way to set up a stereo pair of Ones with one speaker doing Alexa and the other doing google assistant. It fits with what was described as one assistant per speaker. This would also solve the problem of both speakers in one room going off at the “Alexa” or “hey google” wake work. I currently mute one of the two mics because of this repeatedly happening. Would be nice to be able to use the other speaker with the mic muted for google assistant. Am I missing something?
I've been waiting for Google assistant to come. But when I set it up it won't play any of my Google play music. When I ask it to play it says it's not apart of my subscription. This happens with my own music that the sonos app can see also. But I was hoping it would play my Google music that I can play with thr Google home minis. Is this normal?
Mvh HH
Hi all, I recently bought the Sonos arc + sonos one (gen 2). Just added the sonos 1 to play as a rear speaker and want to play together but right now its just either or.. Anyone know how to have the choice thru Google asst to play all? Cheers 👍
I’ve been using Google Assistant on my Sonos One pair ever since it became available, and I’ve been hoping that sooner or later some of the problems and issues will be resolved, but I’ve just about given up. I haven’t seen Sonos fix a single problem since the initial release. Did their one contract guy working on Google Assistant quit? It’s just getting very frustrating to see the same annoying problems over and over again. My Sonos One frequently freezes for 30 seconds or more when I ask GA to do something, and half the time it fails with “there was an error/glitch”. I can see in the Google log that it got the right command, it just didn’t do it! I can then walk over to my Google Home Mini and give it the same command, and it always executes immediately with no error. Lately it’s gotten worse, with Routines almost never completing successfully when I attempt to run them from Sonos GA, leaving the Sonos speaker stuck frozen and unresponsive for a minute or more! Is this ever going to g
Is it really that bad? Because at this point, it feels that bad. I have a stereo pair of sonos ones (the main speaker being the second gen, the other 1st) and a sonos move. I have no other google speakers in the house and to lessen any confusion from my Google assistants part, I even disengaged it on my phone. I have problems nearly 100% of the time with google. Simple commands such as, "pause," "play some music", or "skip this song" or mainly everything music related I get a constant, "Sorry, something went wrong, when you're ready, give it another try." Or, my favorite one is, "Sorry, I can't do that here, but you can ask me to play it on one of your other devices." This happens all the time. If it does work, it's usually on the second or third try, and by then I'm so frustrated I wish I never invested in these speakers. Spotify is my main squeeze, but anything streaming related seems to be a nightmare. I've tried rebooting google assistant but nothing works and now I feel lik
When I go through the steps of adding Google Assistant in the Sonos App it says: “Your Google Assistant is ready to use with Sonos Include the room name when you ask the Google Assistant to play music.” Except it’s not showing me any of my Sonos speakers. So what’s going on here? When I go into the Google Assistant app itself it shows every one of my devices. Also when I go back into the Sonos App under services it does not Show Google Assistant it simply shows Add a Service as though I never connected the two. I’ve tried telling the Google Assistant to play things in the kitchen for example and I get the response, “Sorry, the requested media content isn’t available for your Google Play Music subscription tier.” or I will tell it to play Lithium on SiriusXM in the kitchen and get the response “ Sorry, it looks like SiriusXM isn’t currently supported on the Kitchen.” I have both Google Play Music and SiriusXM accounts paired to my Sonos and they work just fine via the Sonos app. Go
Anyone else having an issue with Google Assistant and Spotify? Google assistant works fine when I use it but, no one else in my house can get it functioning. The error they receive is that the Spotify account must match on both Sonos and Google assistant. I have Spotify Family so everyone can manage their own playlists. Sonos does not seem to recognize multiple Spotify accounts, therefore only my account is logged on the Sonos. Anyone figured out a work around?
Is there a way to control Sonos room groupings via assistant? Understood you can’t group google groups with Sonos groups. In my case I am strictly interested in controlling Sonos groups. I have common groupings id like to configure. Instead of setting them up manually I’d love a way of setting these groups up on command
