Everything used to work fine since years but recently I can't connect to Mixcloud with Windscribe VPN activated through Sonos. It works only if I disable the VPN. Same problem on iOS or macOS. Mixcloud native application works well with the VPN activated, and also when using Airplay2 as a workaround, but not through Sonos. This problem is only related to Mixcloud. No issue with Apple Music and YTM. iOS Sonos 14.0 iOS 15.3 / macOS 12.3iOS Mixcloud 32.4.2
How to Auto switch between Music/radio sound and TV sound in a Arc-ONE SL-SUB, Connect Amp, and ONE configuration?
Previously I had the following Sonos Setup:A Sonos One in the kitchen and a old Sonos Connet Amp S2.The Amp was connected via to the digital input to the digital output from my tv and the Amp's analog audio input was connected to my radio and the left and rigt speaker terminals was connected to my Beolab 8000 speakers.Due to the Amp's prioritization between input on digital and analog the amp would automatically switched between radio sound and TV sound, i.e. TV when the TV was turned on on and back again to radio when the TV was turned onand vice versa when the TV was ternede on again. Now I also have a Sonos Arc and 2 Sonos ONE SL's and a Sonos SUB all configured in the TV room. The Arc is connected to the TV's HDMI arc output, and TV sound is working fine.My Sonos Connect Amp S2 is now only connected to my Beo lab 8000 speakers. When I play music/radio via my Sonos app, I select output to go to my Sonos One in the kitchen and my Sonos Connect Amp S2 in my living room (which in fact als
Symptoms: device powers up, but doesn’t show on either network and refuses to factory reset. LED remains white no matter what.I have cracked it open following this teardown https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/1zf9n9/sonos_playbar_teardown/ but nothing obvious stands out. The power supply is fine, based on everything I can see.I am aware of wifi card failure, but I assume when that fails the wired network will still work, and that factory reset should also be available.By the way, these things contain some serious mechanical engineering. Respect. And also they were a bargain in their day.Suggestions?
I have looked at many answered questions but am still confused. I have, as my wife says, a Sonos addiction. I have over 20+ sonos speakers, boost, amp etc. I have trouble playing all at once or multiple rooms. Many of the speakers are combined etc. I own a boost, have 2 speakers connected via ethernet in an asus mesh system. I am still losing audio or it takes 1-4 minutes for speakers to come on line. I have read many articles of SONOSNET vs WIFI how to use my boost etc. I consider myself a little bit of a techie but still having trouble. With that many speakers, amps, connects etc. What is the best way to set this system up. It didn’t seem to be a problem until the the app update and the new line of speakers came out. Thank you in advance
Hello everybody,I write this post before contacting Sonos support. I purchased a Sonos Arc + Sonos Sub (3rd gen) in December 2021.After 3 months of use, I am not very happy with the Sub in particular. Because the bass is not heard! I've done all possible configurations, but the subwoofer is as if it's turned off.I try to explain better, the SUB is correctly turned on and configured, I can also change its settings from the Sonos app but the sound of bass is really non-existent.I have made a comparison with another sound system with a much lower price range (300 €) and it sounds much better and it’s impossibile!I need help because my subwoofer can't sound right. It seems as if the frequency used is not low but only very high. What can I do?Thank you a lot!
This is a very strange situationMy computer is connected to the same netgear switch as my SONOS play 1.I have another ethernet cable connected to this switch to my main router.Last week i noticed my laptop was dropping the network connection for a few seconds every 5-10 minutes.I diagnosed it today as my laptop connecting to the internet via my SONOS PLay 1. To do this i disconnected the main network cable going to my router and the laptop still had an internet connection - all be it around 10% of my expected speed. When I discconected the LAN cable of the PLAY 1 it was fine. Anyone else experienced this?
I know there have been discussions on what ports are needed for the Sonos controller app to work, but I have the opposite questions, what are the minimal set of ports to block the Sonos app. My use case is for a vacation home and AirBnB. I want my AirBnb guest to be able to the Sonos via AirPlay, Pandora app, and Spoitfy connect, but I do not want them to be able to use the Sonos app to mess up my services / settings. I use to have this working, but I think some ports changed somewhat recently. Thanks all.
Alright, here’s a new one: I recently moved and am getting set up in a new house, with a new network name, but all the same Sonos gear. Ideally I’d love for everything to reconnect EXACTLY AS IT WAS… including Sonos playlists! Obviously my Sonos account is still active, and I still have all of the speakers (and the Boost and Sub) - I just want to know if there’s anything special I need to do in reconnecting to preserve everything that I already had! Bonus points if anyone can confirm the Samsung remote control IR blaster will still work with the Playbar, haha Thanks!
Hello, I am in the process of renovation of my apartment, For my living room area I would like to have 5.1 sound system. My plan is to add 2 inceiling sonance speakers above the sofa connected to sonos amp, the room is only 4m wide.1 sonos arc1 sonos sub The sonos amp would be in technical cabinet speakers connected with audio cables. From my understanding you have to connect the arc to the TV thru HDMI arc port and set the in-ceiling speakers as surround speakers and it should work? if I want to have also a video projector how will it work? would I have to unplug the HDMI to plug it to the projector? Also can I use all speakers when playing music from the sonos app directly? Thanks for your answers. For now i mostly want to choose my set up and know what cables/wires to route in the ceiling and walls to make sure everything works fine once i purchase the entire system.Mael
I am updating my home system that has 2 ceiling speakers in the kitchen with an in-wall volume controller and 2 ceiling speakers upstairs with another in-wall volume controller and a Connect Amp. The 4 speakers are now Sonos Architectural in-ceiling speakers (definite up grade on sound quality versus previous speakers) and have a Sonos Amp on order from Sonos. I am replacing the 2 in-wall volume controllers and need advise on how many Watts each volume controller should be (100W, 150W, 300W are various available controllers)? Thanks.
Hi allI use a Synology NAS as my main music library through my MacBook, however, i back up all my music on my Sony NW-A55 mp3 player. If my NAS failed, how could i use the Sony as a music library until the NAS is replaced? Is it something simple that i just can't see and where would i point Sonos at to link the library? Thanks in advance for your advice
I recently moved and decided to invest in 5 new One SL speakers. I also took my old system with me, consisting of two Play:1’s, a Playbar, a Play:3 and Play:5. The system was running on S1 because of the old Play:5. I am ditching the Play:5 because I want to move to the new S2 system. I tried to set up the new system by plugging the old Play:1 with an Ethernet cable in the modem. The S2 app told me to switch to the S1 app. I disconnected the Play:1 and used the One SL instead. This worked well, I managed to set up the One SL’s in the new S2 app, and those speakers work. But now I want to add the Play:1’s, the Playbar and the Play:3. But the problem is that the S2 app now suddenly cannot find them. Is there any way to make those speakers visible again?
We wish to connect a CD player to our Sonos 5, but due to its location, a direct connection is impractical. Is it possible to connect a CD player to a Bluetooth transmitter, then connect a Bluetooth receiver with RCA outputs to the Sonos 5? I know this sounds jerry-rigged, but it’s the only workaround that would fit within our room constraints.
Hello, I’ve setup a VPN to connect my mobile device safely to my home network. It’s a set-it-and-forget-it thing. On my mobile device my VPN stays on 24/24 7/7. I can reach my NAS, and literally do all the things I do at home when I am at home (!) and when I am away. Since dataconnection through 4G or 5G is mostly unlimited (Belgium) there’s no issue on that topic. Since I have perfect 4G coverage at home, I don’t need wifi on my mobile device either. And certainly… I don’t need tweaking around my phone when I leave home, starting my car, starting to navigate, or whatever thing I am planning to do. The only thing that doesn’t comply… my Sonos system. I’ve seen a lot of coverage on this forum and Reddit about Sonos and VPN. Mostly posters point in the wrong direction of it being “not Sonos’ fault”, or as in “bittorrents are illegal, so you shouldn’t use a VPN”. Answers totally missing the point about what a VPN in 99% of the cases is and what is used for daily. I still

Hi I have an existing Bose lifestyle cinema surround sound for my tv. I was recommended to buy a port so as I could upgrade my existing system & speakers by adding Sonos, sub & speakers to the existing system for listening to music & enhanced cinema sound.I have managed to link the old & new speakers for music, but I am struggling for TV.
Hi, I have 4 sonos amps hardwired running 4 independent zones in my house all in one Av rack that are daisy chained via a hardwired switch, now I’ve just added a ubiquti ap to the same switch so I can throw the WiFi down the garden to reach my pub, where I have a new 5th sonos amp which is obviously not hardwired it’s running on the ubiquiti ap. im having problems as the ‘pub’ keeps dropping of the system (my WiFi is set to 2.4ghz) does this all make sense ?please help
I have a decent size setup (~13 amp, 2 beam, 2 ARC, 2 playbar, 3 sub, 1 boost, assorted smaller older units) as well as Google Wifi. It's set up in "wired" mode - the boost is the only thing currently hardwired, the rest is on sonosnet (channel 6 currently). Most of the Amps are in a single room (powering speakers all over the house), along with the Boost. I have read plenty of horror stories of Google wifi and sonos causing spanning tree storms. I have very occasional wifi problems, which may or may not be related. However, I would like to endeavor to reduce wifi congestion, as I currently have 113 devices on my wifi network. I understand if I connect the amps that are all in the same room to the ethernet, but don’t disable wifi then they have the potential to cause some pretty complex spanning tree problems, but my question is this - if I use the "disable wifi" setting on my amps (and any other units that I hardwire), does sonos remove them from the spanning tree so the two spannin
Have a 3 car garage and converted the single into a home gym. I’ve got 4 One SL’s hooked up and a Gen 3 sub on top of the water heater in the opposite corner. Can anyone tell me why I’m only hearing that true deep bass in certain areas of the garage and not all over? It’s really disappointing to be honest, but hopefully there’s a solution? thank you very much in advance for any advice.
I have tried to connect all my components, two Sonos Play 1s, a Playbase and a Connect, to a new, closer and stronger network. The sonos Play 1s were a pair. One of them switched, the other did not. The Playbase switched but the other Sonos Play 1 and the Connect amp did not. The top button on the Connect, not just the little light, is flashing red no matter what I do. How may I get all these back to factory specs and start over with the connections?
I’m an authorized Sonos dealer. Installed a system 6 months ago in a cabin 100 miles from my office, configured system with S2 on my Android tablet, system working fine when I last left it. Customer does not use cabin during winter.I wanted to know how to completely delete the current Android configuration created with my company credentials and start with a clean install on customer’s iPad. Sonos agent wasn’t sure how deleting configuration would affect Sonos upgrades or any other effects. As another option, I had questions on transferring the system to customers account that’s to be created next week on their iPad. Needed to know if a 1 - Boost, 3 - Amp configuration created on a current Android tablet to an iPad will transfer without a complications. I’d prefer to delete and start from scratch but need a possible back up.Complete frustration with call - escalated and told best they could do is email transfer instructions (Android to Android?) just before call dropped. Both conve
