Hi guys, I have 2 VLANS, 1 for my IoT devices which the sonos products are on and 1 for my personal devices like phone, laptops, tablets. My current firewall is setup so that any traffic from the IoT vlan to the personal vlan will be dropped. I also enabled multicast dns on my network settings. Originally my iPhone was able to cast to the sonos speakers via spotify. However the sonos s2 app was not able to find my sonos system. I created a firewall rule “source: sonos device IPs → destination: any device on port 1400, 3400, 3401, 3500, 1900, 1901. I found those ports on this page: Configure your firewall to work with Sonos. After I created the rule, my iPhone is able to find my system. When I try to use the MacOS S2 app found here on my personal network, it can’t find the sonos devices.QuestionDo the desktop / MacOS apps need additional ports configured in the firewall for them to work with sonos systems in a different vlan? Hi SONOS community,We have SONOS in a luxury lounge and we need to stop playing the music and play emergency announcements when facility management broadcast them.Is there a solution for this requirement? I was hoping to have some input channel and maybe together with IFTT setup a flow.Thank you in advance for your comments…Ciao,M
Is it definitely possible to pair a Beam (Gen 2) with two Roams, and somehow use the equalizer to get only bass notes out of the Beam, if this makes sense. I've been told that it is not possible to use the Sonos subwoofer (or the possibly-upcoming mini-sub) with the Roams. All three speakers would be in my kitchen (not connected to any other Sonos system), and I first simply need to know that it would be technically feasible to pair a Beam with 2 Roams, and second if it would be possible to set up the Beam to primarily output low (bass) notes.I've looked through the Support questions, and I haven't seen an answer. Any knowledgeable, informed response would be appreciated. if there are any alternative solutions, I’d love to hear them as well. ty
HiI am facing strange issue with DHCP. In my network i have two piholes running as DNS and DHCP server. All clients seems to be ok with this setup except sonos devices (arc, sub and 2 ikeas symfonisk)Devices simply refuses to accept offered ip address. Here is the example of communicationSep 28 23:04:53 dnsmasq-dhcp: DHCPDISCOVER(eth0) 54:2a:1b:65:67:14 Sep 28 23:04:53 dnsmasq-dhcp: DHCPOFFER(eth0) 192.168.2.31 54:2a:1b:65:67:14 Sep 28 23:04:53 dnsmasq-dhcp: DHCPREQUEST(eth0) 192.168.2.31 54:2a:1b:65:67:14 Sep 28 23:04:53 dnsmasq-dhcp: DHCPNAK(eth0) 192.168.2.31 54:2a:1b:65:67:14 wrong server-IDIf i disable one of those DHCP server everything works as expected.DHCP servers have the same static leases and of course dynamic ip ranges does not overlap.I think that for some reason sonos device doesnt expect to get 2 ip offers at the same time and replies with “wrong server-id”Can you please let me know if this is something that can be fixed. Thanks & RegardsMichal
I have a Sonos sub and it’s connected to the TV output. Playbar and 2 x play 1’s. I have a pair of play 3,s that I normally use to play my music on. Is there anyway to pair the sub to the play 3’s temporarily. Like a preset then allows them to go back to the TV once I decide. It’s just a lot of effort to unpair and add to the play 3’s and then add to the TV again.
Everything used to work fine since years but recently I can't connect to Mixcloud with Windscribe VPN activated through Sonos. It works only if I disable the VPN. Same problem on iOS or macOS. Mixcloud native application works well with the VPN activated, and also when using Airplay2 as a workaround, but not through Sonos. This problem is only related to Mixcloud. No issue with Apple Music and YTM. iOS Sonos 14.0 iOS 15.3 / macOS 12.3iOS Mixcloud 32.4.2
I feel like I’m way off base here.My Mac remained connected to the internet despite wifi turned off, the mesh access point being unplugged from an 8-port switch.A dumb way to troubleshoot, but I’ve been getting 5mbs down on my Mac and lots of other network issues. I go and basically unplug everything one by one until finally my Mac lost internet. The Sonos Port *seems* to have been acting as a terrible network access point for my devices on the 8-port switch. There is no way that’s possible right? Now that the port power is unplugged, my network is going strong again. The only things plugged in to my switch are 2 Sonos Ones, 1 Sonos Port, printer, Mac. The printer is not connected to wifi, neither is the Mac, at least it is turned off in the UI.
Hello,I currently have quite a few Sonos products for my house.•Arc•Sub•7 One’s•Move•2 Ikea Symfonisk Shelf I just bought a new home that we move into in Sept. This house has in-ceiling speakers throughout the house, I didnt count, but looking at the photos I think its around 6-8 total. These speakers are all setup under one zone, so there is no separating them. I would like to add those speakers to my Sonos system as a zone. I am not sure what the best way to do this though. The wiring from what the current owner said, is in the living room and setup in the wall, but from what I can tell, its only one channel that they are all on (which is why its only one zone). From what I can see, I can get a Sonos amp, but it says only 4 speakers. Does anyone have a thought from the brief info that I have. Once I move in I will be able to tell more, but if it is an easy setup, I would like to buy everything before I move in. Thanks for your help!
I will be using the Sonos amp’s RCA Line In from my home theater preamp’s Height channel outputs. They will be connected to my In ceiling speakers to be used as Atmos height channels. Because height channels cannot be repurposed as a stereo pair for music, would the Sonos amp solve my problem and automatically switch between network airplay and the line in height channels ?
Hi,I am looking for help. Would it be possible to connect two TV’s to a single Sonos AMP by using a Switch? If so, is anyone aware of an auto switching Switch that could do this? For context, I have an LG CX 48” for PC and above it I have an LG CX 65” for movies. I only use one of them at the time. I would love to find a solution where I could connect them both through the HDMI ARC port and not have to introduce extra steps when switching screens. Thanks for looking.
I am remodeling my den and changing out my in-ceiling speakers to Sonos Architectural. My bedroom sits above and I am doing some soundproofing. Part of that entails putting the speakers in enclosures. I am trying to decide if the Sonance Acoustic Enclosure will fit the Sonos Architectural ceiling speakers. Everything tells me yes, but it would be great if someone has done this.Enclosures:https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sonance-acoustic-enclosure-for-select-sonance-visual-performance-6-5-round-speakers-each-unfinished-wood/6290835.p?skuId=6290835&ref=212&loc=1&ref=212&loc=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4Lb1_q6x8wIVsWpvBB0UtAEGEAQYAyABEgIKCPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.dshttps://www.sonance.com/in-wall-in-ceiling/visual-performance/accessories/visualperformanceseriesacousticenclosuresThe CAD drawing of the Sonance Enclosure calls for a 8.20” cutout while the Sonos speakers call for a 8.25” cutout, which I don’t think is an issue. The Sonance speaker is 4.72” tall, while the Sonos is 4.84”,
Hey, everyone!I use a USB plugged into my router to play a few songs on my Sonos. I used to be able to connect this via Music Library Setup - Add Shared Music Folder - //192.168.0.1/volume9*voume9 is just the name my usb takes when plugged into the router* Now, when I try to do this (on my iPhone), I get this message “The computer 192.168.0.1 refused to let the Sonos Product connect to it.” I also tried it on my Mac and get “There is no shared folder ‘volume9’ on the computer ‘192.168.0.1’.” I logged into my router and ‘volume9’ is still there, is not password protected, the sharing feature is enabled. I also removed the USB and reinstalled in on my router just to make sure that wasn’t the issue. So, how do I fix this? UPDADTE: I changed the wifi I was connected to on my phone to 2.4ghz and it found the USB!
Hi I’ve been into Sonos for a very long time. I’m reasonably familiar with both the S1 and S2 apps. I’m currently running 2 Sub Gen2, 1 Sub Gen3, an Arc, a Beam Gen1, a Beam Gen2, a Playbar, 2 Play:1, 2 Play:5, 4 Play One SL, and 2 Play One. In an 1100 sqft apartment lol. I only seem to recognize my illness when I type it out. So again, I’m reasonably comfortable with the company’s products. So I’ve decided that I need to thin out the herd.My Arc is bonded with the Sub Gen3 and 2 of the Play Ones. Really really nice setup. I love the sound. I’m not messing around with this. I currently have my Beam Gen2 bonded with 1 Sub Gen2. I have them in my small studio (I’m a painter). I have them for movie / YouTube while working. “Maybe” a 12x12 room. It’s not an Arc, but it’s good. I haven’t decided about the 2 Play One SLs. It’s such a small room. I don’t want to hamper ATMOS.Finally, I prefer to listen to lossless music. Now the problem space. I have a something like 13x20 Lounge / Living Room
I purchased the Amp outdoor speaker combo from Best Buy and now want to add a pair of sonance rk63 rock speakers. I know you can hookup up 4 8ohm speakers to the Amp. The RK83 ohm ratings says 8 ohm nominal and 6ohm minimum. Can I connect all 4 of these in parallel without any problems? Speakers that came with the Best Buy kit are MAGO6V3. Thanks!
Hi allI use a Synology NAS as my main music library through my MacBook, however, i back up all my music on my Sony NW-A55 mp3 player. If my NAS failed, how could i use the Sony as a music library until the NAS is replaced? Is it something simple that i just can't see and where would i point Sonos at to link the library? Thanks in advance for your advice
This is a very strange situationMy computer is connected to the same netgear switch as my SONOS play 1.I have another ethernet cable connected to this switch to my main router.Last week i noticed my laptop was dropping the network connection for a few seconds every 5-10 minutes.I diagnosed it today as my laptop connecting to the internet via my SONOS PLay 1. To do this i disconnected the main network cable going to my router and the laptop still had an internet connection - all be it around 10% of my expected speed. When I discconected the LAN cable of the PLAY 1 it was fine. Anyone else experienced this?
Hi all,Listening to music on the Beam/Ones/Sub setup is not great. I really enjoy the HT experience, but even when setting the “Surround Audio > Music Playback” to “Full” it’s just not as good as the 2.1 setup of Ones as left & right plus the sub. However switching between the two modes requires breaking the HT config, creating a stereo paring, and, then breaking that go back to HT -- but even worse it loses the True Play which has a huge impact in our room (a combined kitchen / living space). It’s frustrating, and I am looking at other non-Sonos options for music listing in the same space, just so as to leave the Sonos HT config alone.Does anyone know how things are going on the Sonos software features side that could allow for this?Have they announced anything? Is there at least beta testing underway?
Hi,I currently have an ARC soundbar, Sub, and Set of Ones surrounds setup. (Via eHDMI)I have some unused in-ceiling speakers as well. If I buy an Amp and connect these via banana clips...will the original setup still function the same too?Or do I loose the functionality of the Ones in order for the Amp to work with the other in-ceiling speakers? Note: this room is only used for watching TV, no music playing Thanks!
Symptoms: device powers up, but doesn’t show on either network and refuses to factory reset. LED remains white no matter what.I have cracked it open following this teardown https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/1zf9n9/sonos_playbar_teardown/ but nothing obvious stands out. The power supply is fine, based on everything I can see.I am aware of wifi card failure, but I assume when that fails the wired network will still work, and that factory reset should also be available.By the way, these things contain some serious mechanical engineering. Respect. And also they were a bargain in their day.Suggestions?
