I have a new NAS on my network and it uses Samba 4.I get the highly informative ( ) error code of ‘900’ when trying to add it.I see threads and questions going back 4 years in this community asking for better Samba support from Sonos. The stock repsonses are simple promises to pass on the question to development teams.I don’t know how difficult it would be to add support for more modern Samba implementations but I do see there is a demand for it.What is wrong at Sonos that you ignore your users so readily and don’t even provide an explanation as to why you refuse to implement this apparently simple request?Your stock response seems to be to let the thread go until people stop reading it and then close it with a weak excuse. What sort of company are you? That said, I expect someone to respond with a weak answer and for this question to be closed with no action. THAT’s the type of company I see in action here...
I'm fully aware the sonos beam is not designed for production use but I really like the sound from it and want to use it as my reference monitor for music production. Although, I can't get over the fact there is a slight delay when playing real-time instruments through it. Like a drum pad or other virtual instruments. I think this is due to the input being hdmi. I think there's some kind of processing going on there that introduces a bit of delay. I think it's ~35ms. That's a lot for my purposes. I was thinking there has to be a way to hack the beam and diy another type of stereo input. Maybe I'm asking for too much from this and I should just get some 'real' speakers?
Hi guys, sorry if this question has been asked before but I am wanting to playing my vinyl through my existing set up (multiple One’s, Move and a Beam) but I have a DJ setup i.e. I’m using a mixer. I understand that there is a delay so the port/amp is not great for DJing but is there a way of when I’m playing to use my powered speakers (not necessarily linked to the other speakers) and then when I want to just play a record to send it to the multi rooms? Would the port be my best option? As I have powered speakers.thanks in advance for your help and hope this makes sense!!
For 2+ years I had no issues using Sonos speakers and AirPods off the same devices. All great. I typically play to Sonos using AirPlay rather than the Sonos app.In the last ~1 month, I am getting really annoying behavior where I can’t successfully switch from AirPods to Sonos - I get the spinning wheel of death on the speaker glyph in OSx/iOS. The variation is that it’ll connect, but when I close the AirPods case, it’ll drop the Sonos connection and I can’t re-establish it. When I check the Sonos app, it thinks the speaker is playing the stream but it is actually coming out of my laptop/phone speaker. The fix is to reboot the speaker. Any ideas?
I feel like I’m way off base here.My Mac remained connected to the internet despite wifi turned off, the mesh access point being unplugged from an 8-port switch.A dumb way to troubleshoot, but I’ve been getting 5mbs down on my Mac and lots of other network issues. I go and basically unplug everything one by one until finally my Mac lost internet. The Sonos Port *seems* to have been acting as a terrible network access point for my devices on the 8-port switch. There is no way that’s possible right? Now that the port power is unplugged, my network is going strong again. The only things plugged in to my switch are 2 Sonos Ones, 1 Sonos Port, printer, Mac. The printer is not connected to wifi, neither is the Mac, at least it is turned off in the UI.
I have a quite old HD tv (Pioneer) that I love and still has lots of legs. On Installation of the amp, we tried hooking up the tv to the in wall speakers from SONOS and the AMP as well. What occurred was about a 2 second latency on the relationship between the visual words spoken and the sound occurring which was quite distracting. The tech moved it to PDM on the settings which had only marginal if any effect. Is there any way to obtain added hardware to narrow/eliminate this issue? The aesthetic of where the speakers had to be placed really necessitates removing the existing tv speakers (either side of the tv which is wall mounted also) to achieve a more pleasing wall.
I currently have a 5.1 surround set up using a gen 1 sub, beam, and 2 One SLs. My sub randomly stopped working the other day and upon trying to reconnect/reset/repair everything, it will not play any audio. Prior to it stop working it was making a random periodic popping sound. This is when I tried resetting it and reconnecting. At first it wouldn't connect, now it'll show it connects fine but will not play any audio when linked to my 5.1 or my other Sonos one in the kitchen. Is the sub just toast now? I've also tried using WiFi and Ethernet, no luck with either. Here's the diagnostic code: 1200403642
Currently I have a pair of Sonos P1 and additional PC speakers connected via 3.5mm to a PC in Office.I have been thinking of ways I can replace these with maybe a Beam or new Beam and combine them in some way. I can then re use the P1’s in another room.My PC monitors/screens are connected via Display Port, and looking in manual they have a Display Port out, for connecting additional monitors/screens. I don’t use this port currently. My thoughts are I could use a passive Display Port to HDMI cable and connect the Display Port out to HDMI to a Sonos Beam.Has anyone done anything similar and had a working system with no sound delay due to processing etc?Is there a better to use Sonos Beam for PC speakers, key is no delay in sound.
I have two completely different music setups - the first is a Sonos network with 4 S2 speakers and a Roam. The second comprises Radford amp plus Cambridge pre-amp, Linn Selekt, Tannoy Arden speakers. I like to listen to music on the Ardens but often would like to send a song to a Sonos speaker so my wife can hear in her den! Is there any way that I could connect the two systems in this way. I use Qobuz a lot and whilst this is accessible through Sonos or through the Selekt I want them joined! Is this possible? Many thanks.
HiAm I right in thinking that I can add a old Sonos5 series1" to my Sonos Arc & x2 Sonos1 surrounds Setup/Room & play my vinyls through the 5s but enable playback through my arc & 1sThink that make sense 😳!🤣!& will there be any issue with the 5 being Series1 & the appI'll control everything from the new Sonos App so I can't see any As far as I can understand I'll just be using the 5 as a vinyl bridge into my Sonos Setup 😉!🤔!......
I am setting up a new sonos ecosystem in a basement and could use some help.My planned setup is to have two Sonos Amps. Amp 1 will power 6 in-ceiling Sonos Sonance speakers, and Amp 2 will power two large floor standing Cerwin Vega VS-150 speakers. I am going to purchase a turn table that will have a pre-amp built in, and I’d like to understand the best way to connect the turn table to both amps. I expect that most of the time I will want to listen to vinyl through Amp 2, but there may be times when I want to push a record to the entire basement via the ceiling speakers.I’ve read that switch boxes are not the best option, and I am not sure that a simple Y-Cable is going to be sufficient. What I don’t want to do is need to move the line in from one Amp to the other manually.Really appreciate your input!Mike
I’m wanting to up Grade to the Sonos ARC from a JBL 3.1 Sound bar. I really like the JBL 10” powered wireless Sub. Its Fills the room so well and nothing is wrong with it. Will this Wireless Sub be able to connect to the Sonos ARC?I have heard the Sonos Subs and they sound very nice but i see no reason to spend the extra money when i already have a sub that works well in this room.
I have an Arc with the Sonos wall mount which is mounted into a brick wall. The amount of sound that goes into the wall and therefore into the room on the other side of the wall is too much.Has anyone tried dampening the sound, such as putting in a sound absorbent panel cut to the shape of the mount in between the wall and the mount? As it is it’s just too loud in the other room.I see Sanus make a different wall mount that extends from the wall and also a mount that attaches to the TV, so perhaps I will have to use a different mounting method if there’s nothing that can be done here with the Sonos wall mount. Thanks for any advice!
I’m a software developer creating a service for SONOS. I used to be able to use the form at http://:1400/customsd.htm to add my test service to the device, but it no longer works (although the form tells me “Success!” when I submit it). Is there still a way to do this? I’ve factory-reset the SONOS several times and uninstalled and reinstalled the app.
Hi wonderful Sonos Family!Hope you are doing well.I am in need of your expert help in one of my Sonos Setup!I have three rooms listed below1- TV Room (Sonos Arc, 2 One SLs & Sub Gen3). Arc is connected to TV2- Living Room - Two Sonos Five3- Media Room - Sonos PortI have external Device (Clock play specific sound on different set) connected to my Sonos Port (Media Room) as Line in to Sonos System. In Sonos App on my Media room which is Port device having Auto Play Setup. In Sonos App there is option which room you want to choose for Auto Play so I choose TV Room for Auto play and when Sonos Port detects any audio signal then it plays that music on my TV room automatically even though some media is played on TV because auto play take priority on that room. That is totally fine and I really want that but there is option in the Auto Play to Include Grouped Rooms so I choose that option so I can play to my all other rooms but its not working.I believe the issue is even though I have gr
I purchased the Amp outdoor speaker combo from Best Buy and now want to add a pair of sonance rk63 rock speakers. I know you can hookup up 4 8ohm speakers to the Amp. The RK83 ohm ratings says 8 ohm nominal and 6ohm minimum. Can I connect all 4 of these in parallel without any problems? Speakers that came with the Best Buy kit are MAGO6V3. Thanks!
I have a sonos beam that I use in my room and I will swap between using it for my TV and for my PC. At the moment, I just unplug it from the PC and then plug it into the TV hdmi arc port when I want but this is actually quite a hassel with my cord management. My question is: is there any way that I can employ an HDMi switch so that way at the click of a button I can listen to either my PC or TV on the beam?
My setup for daily use is Arc with LG C9 which works great. I would occasionally like to use my BenQ W2000 projector for movies and gaming. Movies would use Apple TV 4K as source and gaming would happen with PC or consoles such as Nintendo Switch or PS5. With these I would like the audio to go to Arc and video to the projector. Ideally I could keep these source systems permanently connected to LG C9 as well via splitter or switch so that I wouldn’t need unplug and plug devices when using the projector. Is there a switch or a splitter that would keep the audio quality as good as the original source (e.g. Atmos)? From video point of view the W2000 is capable only for 1920x1080 but in case I would upgrade that at some point it would be nice if the video would also be of original quality.Any advice would be appreciated!
I am remodeling my den and changing out my in-ceiling speakers to Sonos Architectural. My bedroom sits above and I am doing some soundproofing. Part of that entails putting the speakers in enclosures. I am trying to decide if the Sonance Acoustic Enclosure will fit the Sonos Architectural ceiling speakers. Everything tells me yes, but it would be great if someone has done this.Enclosures:https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sonance-acoustic-enclosure-for-select-sonance-visual-performance-6-5-round-speakers-each-unfinished-wood/6290835.p?skuId=6290835&ref=212&loc=1&ref=212&loc=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4Lb1_q6x8wIVsWpvBB0UtAEGEAQYAyABEgIKCPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.dshttps://www.sonance.com/in-wall-in-ceiling/visual-performance/accessories/visualperformanceseriesacousticenclosuresThe CAD drawing of the Sonance Enclosure calls for a 8.20” cutout while the Sonos speakers call for a 8.25” cutout, which I don’t think is an issue. The Sonance speaker is 4.72” tall, while the Sonos is 4.84”,
I have a sonos port that runs my outdoor non spa os speakers as well as a sonos play in the family room and a 2nd sonos play in the living room.I am unable to put the Sonos play from the living room in a group with the pool and family room speakers because the living roomsonos automatically connects to the wife extender.I get a message that says devices on wifi extenders cannot be grouped. if I move the same speaker that doesn’t connect the the family room it catches a closer connection and plays with no issue.this problem just started happened. Before all played well together. So question is: can I program the so is play so it never goes after tue wife extender connection? Is there any solution here?
Hey Gurus,I want to use a BEAM for 5.1 sound on my PC. And also a SONOS SUB and a couple of SONOS 1. Here is my PC configuration. HP ZBook Create G7 Notebook PC. It has a Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10885H CPU @ 2.40GHz. It is connected to a HP Thunderbolt Dock G2 with the most recent USB C standards USB 3.1 Gen 2. The PC has a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 with Max-Q Design card which supports NVIDIA High Definition Audio for 5.1. I will use a Rankie DisplayPort to 4k HDMI with audio adaptor to connect from the HP Thunderbolt Dock Display Port to the BEAM HMDI input. Will this work? Anyone have suggestions.
I have a connect amp that is connected to a record player on my main floor. On my 2nd floor, I have a porch with 2 Sonance 62 outdoor speakers. I want to connect these speakers to my Sonos system, but am not sure how I can do so without buying another connect amp, or running wires, which i would rather not do. Here is my idea. Could I connect a rocket fish wireless rear speaker kit to my speakers. And then connect the receiver to my amp? https://www.rocketfishproducts.com/pdp/RF-WHTIB/8275528 In my head, it makes sense. I believe the rocket fish should have enough power for the speakers but not sure how to actually tell. I don't care about any delays as it's just for music. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
