I have a Beam and two Ones setup up with my TV, but I would like to be able to continue to play music with the TV on mute. Anytime the TV is turned on though the music playing in the entire house system is automatically dropped from the TV rooms (Beam and two Ones). Does anyone know if there is a work around from keeping the current music playing despite the TV being turned on.
Is it definitely possible to pair a Beam (Gen 2) with two Roams, and somehow use the equalizer to get only bass notes out of the Beam, if this makes sense. I've been told that it is not possible to use the Sonos subwoofer (or the possibly-upcoming mini-sub) with the Roams. All three speakers would be in my kitchen (not connected to any other Sonos system), and I first simply need to know that it would be technically feasible to pair a Beam with 2 Roams, and second if it would be possible to set up the Beam to primarily output low (bass) notes.I've looked through the Support questions, and I haven't seen an answer. Any knowledgeable, informed response would be appreciated. if there are any alternative solutions, I’d love to hear them as well. ty
I have noticed that can group rooms from the Sonos app. Are you only able to set an alarm for one speaker or can you group speakers for certain time periods (morning wake-ups in multi rooms) I want to wake up with music in several rooms on weekdays, but in afternoon my need for playing music is different and then I need to re-group. setting them individually does work as it is out of sync
It Seems that a lot of people experiences problems with the power supply of the Playbar. I’m trying to repair one of those… here are a picture of the blowned composants I need the values of those composants : R20R21R19R18R38C27C26 Am I missing something burned on the pictures ? I really need help on this…. Many Thanks Piermo
I haven’t found an answer to this one via the search so apologies if this has already been answered.I see that the S1 Sub is compatible with the S2 app, but the Beam S2 is only compatible with the S2 app. So why can't I add my S1 Sub to my media room with the S2 Beam via the S2 app? Just doesn’t see the Sub which I have disconnected from a S1 room completely. My media room is run on my S2 App. Every other room is via S1 and is working just fine. Thanks
Hey all, I have a Sonos Beam, a sub and two One SLs for rear channels for my TV in the living room / kitchen. I also have two more One SLs in my bedroom and office and a Sonos Roam in both bathrooms. I find that Dolby Atmos sounds best in the main room because of the separation of sounds. However, if I want to listen to music throughout the house, Dolby Atmos is deactivated in the main room and I get what appears to be ultra-HD, which may or may not be 5.1, but certainly has less sound separation in the main room. I assume this is normal behavior so stream the same signal to every speaker. Is there a way to get Dolby Atmos in the main room and also have music playing in the whole house? If not, I would strongly suggest this as a future update.
Hi,I currently have an ARC soundbar, Sub, and Set of Ones surrounds setup. (Via eHDMI)I have some unused in-ceiling speakers as well. If I buy an Amp and connect these via banana clips...will the original setup still function the same too?Or do I loose the functionality of the Ones in order for the Amp to work with the other in-ceiling speakers? Note: this room is only used for watching TV, no music playing Thanks!
As above.I am not sure if anybody here use Untangle firewall but there seems to be a problem with Multicast traffic from the Beam. I can see the Beam issued with my assigned static IP but other than that, it doesnt to be able to setup properly.Any ideas to solve it?
I have a client that has 3 ci200qr kef in ceiling speakers, however he only has 1 sonos amp. He wants them all on the same amp, any issue connecting all 3 and using dual mono mode? 1 speaker is in bathroom, other 2 are in kitchen, would like the 2 in kitchen to be same volume level.
I have a decent size setup (~13 amp, 2 beam, 2 ARC, 2 playbar, 3 sub, 1 boost, assorted smaller older units) as well as Google Wifi. It's set up in "wired" mode - the boost is the only thing currently hardwired, the rest is on sonosnet (channel 6 currently). Most of the Amps are in a single room (powering speakers all over the house), along with the Boost. I have read plenty of horror stories of Google wifi and sonos causing spanning tree storms. I have very occasional wifi problems, which may or may not be related. However, I would like to endeavor to reduce wifi congestion, as I currently have 113 devices on my wifi network. I understand if I connect the amps that are all in the same room to the ethernet, but don’t disable wifi then they have the potential to cause some pretty complex spanning tree problems, but my question is this - if I use the "disable wifi" setting on my amps (and any other units that I hardwire), does sonos remove them from the spanning tree so the two spannin
OK, so I have a Velop Mesh system (3 nodes) 2 Play 1’s, Play 3 and a Play One.I’ve read many posts about this but still can’t get a clear answer. The access to each device depends on which room I am in and the house, and still can’t get any grouping to work.Is there a simple solution (ideally other than buying Boost!) and even then I’m not sure that will work...will it?!
Hi,I am looking for help. Would it be possible to connect two TV’s to a single Sonos AMP by using a Switch? If so, is anyone aware of an auto switching Switch that could do this? For context, I have an LG CX 48” for PC and above it I have an LG CX 65” for movies. I only use one of them at the time. I would love to find a solution where I could connect them both through the HDMI ARC port and not have to introduce extra steps when switching screens. Thanks for looking.
I have a SonosAmp with a fried wireless card and accordingly has to be hardwired. Once I hardwire it, Sonos defaults to SonosNet. However, due to the layout of my home/speaker locations, SonosNet actually leads to worse performance (I have a big physical gap between sonos speakers) as compared to wifi which has better overall coverage. Is it possible to force Sonos to use wifi, even if one of the units is hardwired? I’d like to avoid buying a Boost.
I have 2 routers. One in my house, and one in my shop. I have the router in my shop hard wired into my house. I am having problems connecting my Sonos One to the router in my shop. It wants to grab the weak Wi-Fi signal from my house. How do I connect the One speaker to the Wi-Fi router in my shop?
Hello allI received an alert of my router that my Arc SL soundbar tried to connect to http://pagead2.googlesyndication-cn.com:443/. Thankfully, the router did it’s job and blocked the request. Why is my soundbar attempting to reach google servers in China? What possible reason could there be for a soundbar to attempt to contact a website irrespective of the fact that no one was home and no media was being played through it? I bought the Arc SL specifically for the point of it having no microphone and was ostensibly more privacy focused. Turns out, this may be misguided thinking...
I want to connect iPhone directly to the beam via a lightning to hdmi cable? Is this possible? If I buy a lightning to hdmi and plug the hdmi into the Sonos beam will the iphone be able to control the Sonos beam and play music , my ultimate goal is to set the beam up in a car with a power inverter because my car speakers suck , is this a way ? Or hotspot but I need two devices right ?
I have many speakers around the house. Sonos1, Play 1, Play 3, Play Base, Move, and Roam. Until the other day when the power went out everything worked fine. When the power came back on all units reconnected except the Roam and the Move. After multiple factory resets and re-adds (per the guidance on the app) I am still not able to add either of these to the network. Spent a couple of hours on this now so it’s time to post and get some group help or be contacted directly by a technical SONOS person who can resolve this for me ASAP. Quite frustrating that this is not easier. And both units behaving the same when adding and the along the way status messages. Appreciate the help
Equipment - Sonos playbar, sub, xbox one, Arrias cable box, western digital MP, Optoma projector, 4 x 1 HDMI switch with toslink/optical audio output. I have been running this system for a couple years and worked fine until halloween. I disconnected and relocated the projector, switch and media player for special effects for halloween. One problem I know for sure is that I did power up the switch with the wrong ac adapter (higher voltage). Went to rehook system after halloween was over and nothing seemed to work. Logically, I assumed I fried something in the switch and bought a new one. New one was same manufacturer but a 6 x 1 (all they had at Memory Express). Hooked it up and exact same problem. Problem is that the cable box has to bypass switch completely (direct hdmi to projector and optical to playbar). I powerup xbox and the HDMI works through switch but optical has to be direct from xbox to playbar. The game I typically play on xbox is NHL17 and as soon as I try to
Currently, I am living on campus as a freshman in a dorm in college. The wifi used here is a roaming wifi called "Eduroam," and both my Iphone SE and MacBook Pro use it as the primary wireless internet source for my room. I have an Airport Time Capsule used as, basically, a giant backup flashdrive since I was unable to connect it as a router for my room. I realize that the new Sonos systems require, in most cases from what I have seen on other threads, a wireless internet source to receive updates and operate with a phone or tablet as the controller. However, my Play:1 detects the Eduroam and attempts to connect to it; but when I insert my given school password (each student has a unique password based on their student i.d. number), there is a long delay and it claims that it (the Play:1 through my Sonos phone application) is unable to connect to the Eduroam network. Is there anyway I can simply connect my Play:1 to my laptop via ethernet cable to access it directly or into my Airport
I apologise for this question not being Sonos specific. Hopefully you guys can give me a couple pointers to potential solutions. I have an extensive iTunes music library stored on a NAS. Most of the files are ALAC, a few are mp3 and aac. I use a Sonos system to play this library in my home. Now I have an Android phone. Is there an app that would allow the phone to access the NAS, convert-copy selected music/playlists from the NAS to the phone for playing offsite? I tried copying some ALAC files to the phone but they are darned big! I need to dumb them down to mp3 or something so they fit. I was able to convert selected songs down to aac/mp3 within iTunes but that is cumbersome. And I don't want the whole library, cause it's darned big, too! Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Dwayne
Hi All. I'm relatively new to Sonos as of last year. My query is how to add artwork to Artist Folders on a shared drive. My setup is via a NAS drive. Now i'm not talking about Album Artwork. This displays fine. What I am talking about is when browsing my Music Library which is on a NAS Network drive and scrolling though Artist selection there does not appear to be anyway to display artwork on a folder to display on the sonos app. I tried everything from embedding artwork to the folder itself but no joy. Looking at other posts from 2013 has suggested it is not possible? Surely this is not the case?
We live in New Orleans in a 140 year old home, yes its historic and I wouldn't dream of removing any of the original plaster to install recessed lighting or wall / ceiling speakers in the main part of the house... However...termite problems caused a MAJOR remodel of the servants quarters and we opened up walls to make a family room / kitchen area... We use the Play5 and Play3 speakers in the front part of the house and they work great... In the renovated part we installed ceiling speakers and have two zones, which we will call "Kitchen" (3 truaudio ceiling mount speakers) and "Family Room" (2 truaudio ceiling mount speakers + subwoofer) Question.....? How do I achieve the following.... (At the present, I have no idea how to wire, though I think I have all the needed equipment) - (see below for detailed list) 1. When we are watching TV, Movies, etc... I only want the "Family Room" speakers + subwoofer to work, and not the "Kitchen" speakers - 2. When we are entertaining, I want
