Bass Shaker/ Transducer

Hi, I want to attach a bass shaker (https://www.buttkickergear.com/Wireless_or a ButtKicker_kit_BKA300_p/bk-kit-4.htm) or a motion transducer (http://www.crowsontech.com/go/crowsontech/3450/en-US/DesktopDefault.aspx?Alias=crowsontech&TabID=3450&lang=en-us) to my home theatre seats. Currently my home theatre setup consist of playbar, sub and 2 play 1's. The playbar is connected to the optical out of a Oppo BDP 103. Since the sub does not have an in/out port, I was wondering if I could directly connect the bass shaker to the tsub woofer out of the Oppo or do I need to purchase a connect amp for this purpose. Fading in and out

When I start my system (nine speakers) they usually work find but then begin to fade out and then in. Is it my Internet connection or am I overloading the system?

Hate this new app 8.0

Just trying this new app on both android tablet and iPad. Still boring but now more difficult to use. Not intuitive or user friendly. I didn't like the app before now I hate it more. SONOS you need to get better app designers. This app is the only thing that would put me off recommending sonos to all friends and family. HORRIBLE,HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. BORING colours, BORING design, BORING LAYOUT.

Sonos automatically play when entering the bathroom

I have Sonos in the house and want to put Sonos in the bathroom that will automatically play when entering. The only way I can think of doing this is to have a movement sensor they switches both the light on and power to the Sonos speaker ... but is it possible to get the Sonos to play music when power is provided (ie on power on). I would like a Sonos group for the bathrooms that eternally plays a mix of chart hits, coming into action when someone is in the bathroom, turning off when they leave. However I also want to be able to occasionally play the same music as I have playing throughout the house (ie for a party) - this is the reason I think of a Sonos. Is my idea possible ?

TV button missing

I have a sonos surround sound system in my living room and I like to swap back and forth from the tv sound to online music. The old app had a button that allowed me to switch back to the tv sound but the new app does not have this feature. How do you return to tv sound? Right now I have to cycle my tv input to get sonos to play the tv sound. It’s frustrsting. Surely I’m missing something.

Why are the Connect products so expensive!

I have a Connect, Connect Amp and Play 5. I want to put Sonos in the master bathroom and would rather use Ceiling Speakers than have a Play 1, since outlets are not in great places in the bathroom. Why is a Connect Amp three times the price of a Play 1?

Rooms Disappear, Reappear, Disappear again, and So On...

After upgrading to the latest software to enable Alexa integration, my "Rooms" don't all appear on the desktop nor the mobile app. I rebooted all the devices, bridge, and router and they will gradually all re-appear but then disappear again. I can literally watch them disappear from the screen on the desktop app. Diagnostics #7985207 Thank you in advance for any help/guidance.

Version 8.2 broke my system:-)

Unless the rare thing has happened and I am an outlier that is far out, the very useful part of the app - Favourites - is now messed up for playlists, though it appears to be ok for Stations, though these now are in List view. Fortunately for me, since the App store did not have the 8.2 right away, I did not update it on a recently received old iPhone 5 now dedicated for controller duty. So I can do a side by side comparison and verbalise - I don't know how to do screenshots of these. 1. My Sonos playlists are the same large icon view in both. But in 8.2, they now have all of my 12 on view after scrolling plus 5 from service for a total of 17. While 8.1.1. has just 5, the favourites. Defeats the purpose and the meaning of Favourites. 2, See all on 8.2 yields a list of 17 lists, doing the same in 8.1.1 yields just the same 5, choses as Favourites. 3. As I recall, the merging of ALL Sonos playlists, and favourite ones from service under see All, is new. Perhaps useful if the mai

Sonos 8.2 for Android runs permanently in the background

Just got the upgrade for Sonos 8.2 and noticed that now the app runs non-stop in the background. If it's a bug then fine, but if it's intentional to run the app permanently in the background then it's really not good. You could get away with it in previous versions of Android, but on Oreo you get very clear notification about apps not used but still running. Is the app permanently running in the background a 'new feature' or a bug? I really can't justify keeping on my phone an application draining resources all the time.

Sonos Play : 5 + Sonos SUB will it live up to my expectation ?

So guys I am using a JBL Authentics L8 speakers as my wireless Speakers as it has AirPlay and Bluetooth and almost everything to stream music wirelessly! It has 120 Watts of sound output with two tweeters and two woofers 30 Watts for each driver. I want a thunderous BASS which somewhere the JBL Authentics L8 is lacking obviously because of the compact size, but even if for a moment I come to think about contemplating the Sonos Play :5 second generation, due to even its compact size it is not going to give me a thunderous BASS either ? I was told that you can add a Sonos Sub to it which will give you more BASS but my question is will the entire set up not get messed up with this arrangement ? Firstly Sonos does not give details about its drivers (That is again a big problem) so my question is let's say the tweeter of Sonos is 25 watts and there are two of them and let's say it has two woofers (By the way I don't know how many woofers does the Play :5 second generation have?) two woofers

Multi channel stereo

Hi, In a configuration playbar + 2 play 1 as surround, is it possible to have always a multichannel stereo configuration always? I mean music and TV? Because of noisy neighbors I need to always have audio also in the surround. Thank you Camillo

system password

I have had Sonos for years and on the odd occasion I have had a problem with the system Sonos support has been superb. I have just tried to carry out a system update on a mac (rather then a windows based laptop which is the usual route) and the update gets so far and asks for a password ( not when I use the windows laptop) I get a box with a padlock pictured, it shows my user name and asks for a password. I don't remember setting up a password?? is there a standard password? I tried "admin" and it doesn't want to know. Has any body got any ideas please? Kind regards Greg

Sonos ones, weather in c or f

I have to sonos ones, let's call them A and B for simplicity, sonos A tells me the weather in Celsius and Sonos B tells me it on Fahrenheit. The settings for each player in the Amazon alexa app are fixed, I can see the sliders but they will not move:( same goes for the location settings for each speaker, I can select uk and so on, but once I leave the settings page, then return, all my details have been lost and returned to a default state. Any ideas. I've factory reset the speaker who's settings are wrong, but I end up at square one. Status quo.

Can Sonos help improve muddy sound caused by high ceilings and hard surfaces?

Our living room/dining room (about 20' x 40' has 18' ceiling open to the second floor. We currently have a Bose speaker system connected to a Yamaha receiver. The problem is that television audio is very muddy and it's really hard for us to hear conversation in movies and shows. I am thinking that if we had more speakers distributed around the room it might get the sound closer to our ears at a lower volume and counteract the echo effect. The Bose system has 5 speakers but only one actually carries the main audio so it is never in the right place for listening. Does Sonos have speakers that we could hook up that could do this? Would they hook up directly to the Yamaha receiver or to the TV? Any suggestions to get the sound closer to our ears?

Chromecast to Connect, and multi inputs

I bought the (2) Sonos Play:1 speakers and the Connect with the understanding that I could connect older audio components to the Connect, which is the idea behind Connect. I did not realize that for $350 it only has one input! what the? So, I can connect my CD player - that works fine. But, I cannot connect anything else because there is no other input options. what i really want to do is connect a Chromecast Audio to the Connect so that I can use Google Home through Sonos. I know that sometime next year Sonos will work with Google Home, but not yet. My understanding was that Chromecast could be connected to Connect, but there with only one input, its either Chromecast OR CD player, not both. Anyone have any ideas? Is there a way to run two components into the RCA inputs at the same time?

What to Do With In-Ceiling Speakers

Hi There - I recently bought a new home, and there are about 8 brand new speakers pre-wired throughout the ceilings in each room. These all lead to a plate in my closet which houses all of the unconnected speaker wires (pic below). I'd like to avoid purchasing new speakers, because these are brand new and why wouldn't I just use them. Is there a SONOS (or comparable) product where I can connect the speaker wires and be able to easily control audio throughout my home? Thanks in advance! Record player with Sonos

Hi Sonos community, I have been bequeathed some records, but I don't have a record player. I would like to create a solution (involving Sonos) that allows me to play the records with minimal hardware/equipment. Based on my research and reading on this forum, I believe the simplest solution is that I need to buy: (1) a record player (turntable) that has a built-in pre-amplifier, and (2) a Sonos device that has an analog audio input (i.e., Sonos Line-in). For (2), it is my understanding that my options are PLAY:5, CONNECT, or CONNECT:AMP. The only twist is that I already have a PLAY:1, so I would also like to keep using that as well. Have I understood everything correctly? Is any option preferable? I would greatly appreciate any feedback or guidance. Thank you in advance.

New home theatre

Hi everyone, First post from me..just took delivery (today) of a playbase, sub and a couple of Play 1's for a home theatre setup. This replaces a Q acoustics 2000 series 5.1 system (with 2050 floor standers) and yammy av amp I've had for 8 years. Well what can I say, seriously impressed, I'm still tweaking a bit, but I can't believe how good it sounds (I have a tv that passes DD5.1 thru optical). The bass is much tighter, the highs and the mids are more crisp and the clarity of speech is so much better. The stereo separation isn't quite as good, but it's nearly there after a trueplay run. Reason for switching, well the better half wasn't impressed anymore with a lounge full of speakers, so I was therefore forced into a more minimalist approach. I wasn't sure if in reality it may have been a downgrade..we'll not where I'm sitting!!
