I have a play 5 gen 2 that takes analogue sound from TV via headphone mini jack line out.Could I use an IKEA bookshelf as a surround speaker. Would the play 5 send surround data to the rear . Or am I limited due to the analogue in . Technically I could get pro logic at the least.
When the 14.18 update came along I loved the sound from my arc, sub gen 3 & 2 SLs After running trueplay it feels like I'm back to square one!! Its taken out any impact the sub had, vocals sounds terrible. Dialogue to low! Tried EQ settings, hate putting speech enhancement on as it makes vocals sound tinny! if you're happy with the sound don't run trueplay! Sick of this sonos setup being so inconsistent
Hi,Recently purchased a brand new sealed Sonos Arc and upon opening, I’ve noticed some oil/grease marks on the side grills. I spoke to the retailer who is well known in the UK and a swap was arranged. Just opened the new unit today and the same issue. The retailer has been sent the pictures and they are going to swap it again for me tomorrow.Anyone here experienced similar issues? It’s annoying as I’ve never had issues with Sonos and the packaging was intact on both deliveries including all seals etc. Thanks.
This issue has been driving me INSANE for weeks and finally I found the answer on YouTube: Simply hold the input and volume down button on your Apple TV 4K remote for about 5 seconds and 🪄🧙♂️ …issue fixed!!!! Your Apple Remote will now control your Sonos sound bar volume again.
I just purchased the 935 directly from OREI using the current 10% discount ($116.10/no sales tax) to use with my Beam Gen 2, Sub Mini, and One SLs with a 2016 Samsung W/Arc. Anyone else have the 935; if so, how’s it working? The only difference I can see from the 931 is that you can connect 3 external devices. I considered the HD Fury Arcana, but at $299 it was a little pricey, since I spent a wad on the Beam and Sub a month ago. I’m hoping, “You get what you pay for.” doesn’t apply with the 935.
Hi- Amateur at bestI have an existing Beam Surround Set working on my HDMI-ARC input on my tv. Love it! I am considering upgrading to a projector and am looking at HDMI Multiview Switches to be able to watch multiple games simultaneously sometimes. The video part is straight forward; the audio I’m having problems.I haven’t found a multiview switch that would support surround sound from Sonos- I haven’t seen anything with HDMI-ARC. I believe that is needed for audio (is it even possible to get Atmos?), then an HDMI from the multiview switch to the projector.Open to all suggestion on products, thanks!
I have been reading a lot of comments about vibration on a Sonos beam. I was watching 6 Underground yesterday & yes the rattle/ vibration started. However it was nothing to do with the beam, it was the cables I had put under the TV stand that were vibrating against it. Removed them away from the stand & problem solved, thanks to my wonderful wife Wendy for spotting this. So check this first, you never know it might not be your brilliant beam.😃
hi guys i recently bought a LG G2 and connected it to my SONOS Playbar (7 years old). things seemed well for a day or 2 but it started to get intermittent issues.very frequently, when i turn on the power for both, and i turn on the TV, the there is no sound from the Playbar (output from TV is set to Optical Output). when i press the tv remote, the sonos only flashes the white LED when i Volume Down, but no light nor sound when i press Volume Up. Controls also not working from my iphone Sonos app when this happens.then i go to the tv sound settings and change it to hdmi, and back to Optical, the sound comes back and everything works as it should. Both devices are on the latest firmware.the optical cable is connected properly (no issues on previous Sony TV).could i have damaged the optical cable during the change of TV? what could have caused the above issue. or could it be the Ethernet cable that has issues? Thanks!
Hi, I have sonos arc, sonos sub and two Sonos one speakers in my setup. I want to add two more sonos ones in the exisiting setup. I want to add them as surround for the rear sides. If I buy two more will I be able to add them to the exisiting setup or will it have any problems adding all of them in one group. Please suggest. TIA.
I’m able to connect arc & sub wirelessly and connect via Ethernet for the Sl one but when I try to connect sl one wirelessly it says “ your Sonos one sl couldn’t be connected” anyone else experienced this issue? I’ve updated Sonos recommended router settings but still doesn’t work!customer service hasn’t been able to help either .
including turning off tv speakers, i just got arc and sub. set was a breeze but i did have to use the optical cable. set up went fine played tv ok, switched to spotify ok. in the evening turned on tv and sound was skipping. turned set off and next morning I did a reset, after reset tv (regular cable and streaming) and spotify working ok. turned everything off for awhile then played spotify for a few hours. Hi to everyone. I just configurated the ARC+SUB+SL system in my living room and when I pair the SUB with the ARC, the system advise me that the SUB is currently linked to another device, and if I want to pair it to the current one.Does this mean that SONOS has sent me an already used SUB? Or is it a normal issue for these device?Your help would be great appreciated. Thanks
Afternoon all, first time posting and could use some help please. In advance of moving into a new build house, I bought the home theatre system from SONOS including the ARC, Play 1’s and Sub. Honestly cannot wait to get them set up. As part of this I have purchased a Samsung QN90B 85inch TV which will be paired with the SONOS system. My wife purchased a TV unit which has also arrived, she wanted to pick the decor hence I gave her requirements for width etc on the TV and she has purchased a Next Bronx 2m Superwide stand, so far so good. That was until I looked at the depth of the TV stand combined with the depth of the ARC. I may have made a reasonably large error. The stand for the TV is a centre stand, 43cm wide to support the TV’s 40-odd kg weight. The tv stand depth is 40cm, the TV Stand is 36.5cm and the ARC is 11.5cm deep which means the ARC will have to sit over the stand. My question is - can this work? Does the ARC have feet on it that would mean it would sit over the stand? Or
I realise there are previous threads about this, but I can’t find one which has not been closed for further comments, so I’m having to create a new thread to add my voice.Feature request Please enable Sonos Roams to act as rear surround speakers in a home theatre setup (or enable this on a future generation of the product if the current gen does not include necessary internal hardware).Why?1. Not everyone wants rear surrounds installed all the time. I only occasionally watch a movie where I want surrounds. It would be much easier for me to repurpose Sonos Roam’s from elsewhere in the house to serve as temporary surrounds for a few hours than it would with any other Sonos speaker. Furthermore, other companies seem to think there is a market for customers who want temporary battery powered surround speakers - e.g. see Philips Fidelio 7.1.2 and JBL Bar 5.1 / 9.1 / 800 / 1000. 2. Even for those who want surrounds installed all the time, I am expect there are some who would prefer to use sp
Ok SO I am an Avid Sonos User. I have a house with 3 Beams, 5 Subs, Six Fives, Four Ones, An Amp and a Port. I also have a High Output DJ system in my theater area. My question is my basement/theater area has a beam, Sub and 3 fives. The Fives are not setup as surrounds. When the theater is in use I have a beam and sub as my main TV sounds but from time to time I have a port that uses my DJ equipment as an input and outputs to a mixer with a mic that also runs to two 15” Active Ev Speakers and an 18” Ev Sub. Yes, I like it loud. So the issue I am having, and curious to see if there is a workaround for, is a delay. Sometimes I use the port to stream the TV audio to the PA setup for a very loud movie experience. But there is a delay. It seems to be more than the app is able to compensate for using the various delay correction options. I am trying to figure out where the source of the delay is coming from. The TV is connected to the Beam Via ARC. There is no DSP in the Mixer or the PA spe
I own a Beam2 connected with my LG OLED TV via eARC.I have a problem… If I choose to hear from TV speakers or BT headphones, after I choose it from the TV, Beam2 retake the control and the sound exit from there and not from TV speakers or BT headphones I choose…In other words, I can choose to hear from TV speakers or BT headphones only if disconnect the Sonos Beam2 from the TV…Do you think it is acceptable????
Hi everyone,I thought this might be useful for people who plan to ditch their wired surround system for a system such as this. I went for a Sonos ARC, Sub (Gen 3), and One SLs. I came from a system consisting of B&W floor stand speakers and center channel, rears and sub coupled with a pretty high end Pioneer AV receiver (I manage to offload it for a decent price on the used market). I have a 2019 model Sony TV with just a standard ARC connection. Before getting this system I owned 2 other Sonos products - a pair of Ones stereo paired in a seperate room and the Sonos Roam (to which I think is by far their weakest product). So here are my thoughts:For movies & TV, I am pretty happy by and large. Calibrating the system with True Play yields very good results and the general usability of the system is great. Its also far more attractive than my old bulky set up. The immersion is great and dialogue is easy to hear even without turning speech enhancement on. For music, its
My TV is connected to a HD machine and a Bluray player using HDMI. The Sonos system is configured to 5.1 surround using HDMI ARC. If I set my HD and Bluray to Bitstream output I get full 5.1 surround but the lipsync delay is noticeable (the audio is delayed). If I set the inputs from the two units to PCM the lipsync delay is resolved but I only get stereo sound. So frustrating! Is there anyway to resolve this?
After installation, turning, and running everything else available on both the App and my Samsung TV using ARC cable for voice, I can only get a whisper out of the speakers, currently TV volumes is set to 49 out 70 and the speakers still are silent… Room size isn’t a problem, if there a magically solution I’m all for it, if not returning them tomorrow…. Slowly upgrading my home theater setup. I have a ceiling projector with HDMI in but no optical or HDMI out. If this works I’m planning to update from a Roku to Apple TV and old stereo setup to a Beam Gen 2. Due to my projector’s limitations and the fact that it’s on the ceiling across the room I’m hoping that I can project while streaming the audio via Airplay. I recognize this isn’t the ideal setup (a new projector comes later) and I would have to turn on the beam and select airplay each time but would it even work for TV/movies or is the delay too much or I just really don’t understand and have to have the HDMI in?Thanks in advance for any input. I’ve searched this a bit but haven’t found my exact situation or it’s from a few years ago and the answer isn’t for the latest hardware.
