Atmos showing as Dolby Digital plus in Sonos App

Beam Gen 2 with LG C1 and Firestick 4k Max.

Firestick is plugged into TV and the Beam Gen 2 is connected to the TV eArc port. Everything set to passthrough. I think all is set up correctly as some streams are fine.


The problem I have is the Beam (according to the App) is detecting some streams as DD+ even though I’m pretty sure they are Atmos. Any suggestions?

Make sure the Surround Sound setting on the Fire TV Stick is set to Best Available.

And set the TV to these settings:

HDMI Input Audio Format: Bitstream
Digital Sound Output: Pass Through
eARC Support: On

Thanks yes it is.

I’ve since discovered that it can vary  with the same stream, one that previously I just could not get to be recognised as Atmos is now streaming correctly. No change of parameters just lots of ‘fiddling around’ so restarts and stuff but all parameters are the same.
