Hi All, Im looking for some help to understand the best way of fixing lip sync issue between these two devices LG GX OLED 55’ and Sonos Arc. What i'm seeing is the sound is outta sync with the TV on a number of different devices and outputs. For context I have the Tv wall mounted with all external HDMI ports connected with Maxonar HDMI 2.1certified cables, these cables are capable are using earc, they are linked to a virgin media HD 360 box, a PS4, and I am using the Earc port to connect the sonos to the tv. I am experiencing sync issue using the above devices as well as native tv apps, Netflix, Disney, YT etc. The Tv is hard wired to my home network and the sonos is on a wifi network, Could it be down to internet connect? The Sonos will not pick my 5G network for some reason. Questions does anyone know what settings in terms of sound will remove this issue? Are there certain sound formats which work better so PCM, Pass Through, Dolby Digital etc. The sonos support team said switch yo
Just upgraded my gen 1 Sonos 5 to an Arc. Have a Sonos amp in the same room but behind the sofa driving speakers facing the TV. The amp and TV are on the same LAN network but are too far apart to connect by HDMI cable, Is there a way to connect the TV or Arc to the amp for surround sound?TIA
Hi,My son’s bedroom has ceiling speakers which are wired back to an amplifier in the living room. We currently have a Sonos Connect connected to the amplifier which he uses to stream music to listen via his ceiling speakers. He is now keen to get a turntable, and I’m thinking the best thing to do would be to get a 2nd Sonos Connect, wire that up to the turntable in his bedroom and group it with the Connect in the living room so that the audio comes out of the speakers in his ceiling.Would that work? Would it matter that the Connect in his bedroom would have an input (the turntable) but no output? I guess the other option would be to get him a 2nd hand Play 5, but it seems a shame not to make use of his ceiling speakers. Thanks
I have a very old analog turntable with a preamp and an old Panasonic “smart” TV that has NO Bluetooth (yes it’s old). I want to be able to both connect the turntable and stream sound from the TV to a Sonos speaker system. Can anyone make suggestions?
When watching Atmos content, we will experience the sound dropping/cutting out for a quick second, sometimes only once or twice throughout an whole movie.
We have tried both wifi and ethernet connections, have changed all the HDMI cords. TV is a Samsung Q8DT and we also use an apple tv 4k as well as PS5. We mostly use the apple tv, but have experienced the issue with apple tv and native samsung apps. I think its been happening ever since I got the Arc, I love the Atmos but this happens every time we watch Atmos content and really kills the movie.
My Setup:Plex Media Server + Nvidia Shield + TV(not eARC compatiable) + Arcana + Sonos ARC Previously this setup was playing my 4k Atmos TRUEHD content no issues. But recently it stopped playing it all together. Will only play content if I switch the audio stream to AC3. I read this thread below and it seemed to be pointing to an issue with the latest 13.x Sonos firmware causing the issue. So I updated my Arcana firmware to .84 but it doesn't seemed to have fixed the issue? Am I missing anything in terms of Arcana settings to get this working?
I can buy a Sonos Arc sub - Gen 1 for $400 Canadian versus a new sub Gen 3 for over $1000 Canadian after tax. From what I understand the Sub Gen 1 will work with the Sonos Arc and will work with Sonos app S2 system. Obviously there have been changes but from what I have been able to learn, maybe the changes are not too significant. What would you do?
Hi,I have never owned any Sonos stuff before and was looking at buying some for home cinema experience. I have SkyQ with Sony TV and was going to buy a beam or Arc but then read all the stories about lip sync issues with Sky. If spending that much I just want something that will just plug in and works.Does everyone have lip sync issues or is it only the exception? Thanks
Hi, I have a Sonos 5.1 setup. It’s Arc, Sub and two Play Ones. All in all I am very happy with it. But my room is kinda big, 60 m2 with 5 meter ceiling. Here’s the question: what would be the best upgrade: to get a second sub or replace the Ones with Fives? I should mention that I also use the system for music quite a lot, and have it set up so the Ones and the Sub are the most audible. I like listening to music in a 5.1 setup; you can sort walk around inside the soundfield rather than sit in a narrow sweetspot of stereo-speakers. (I have a very serious vinyl stereo-setup, that sounds better than Sonos (you know: tubes and preamps, poweramps and cables and phonostages, etc.) but I still use Sonos for 80% of my music listening). Hope this makes sense. Thanks
Hello - I have an AMP inside the house that wires through the walls to two outdoor speakers R+L and I was wondering if I can connect these wirelessly to my Samsung Terrace TV. Is there some sort of transmitter that will allow me to do this without having to purchase a weatherized Sonos soundbar to wirelessly connect them together? Best,Chris
hiI need speakers for a rooom 5 meters lenght and 4.5 meters wide and 2.88 height but it is unable to wire to source (wireless data connection required. Whether it's bluetooth, wifi or any other technology) Allows power supply (no batteries required). • Must give good audio throughout the room
I just spent over $2000 on this system, loaded up my music… And it couldn’t finish. I see from past posts that it has something to do with a memory limit of older devices. I have this 32-bit application called Winamp that hasn’t really been updated since before Sonos released its first product. It handles hundreds of thousands of songs with no problem. What’s the work-around? I see support posted a link in a previous thread, but the link doesn’t work anymore. If I pare back my indexed folders, I can live with this, but this feels like it’s going to be the first of a series of software issues for something that’s supposed to be a premium product.
I noticed over the weekend that when I stream from Roon to my Sonos system, 24-bit files are now streamed in their native resolution (up to 24/48). Previously, everything was downsampled to 16-bit. It seems that a Roon update from October enabled 24-bit streaming to Sonos. Anything higher than 24/48 is downsampled to either 24/48 or 24/44.1, but this means that a large portion of my library is able to be streamed natively without being resampled. I appreciate the Sonos and Roon teams for continuing to work on giving us this capability.
