Hi..I have a big Sonos solution at a company. It works fine. But if the fire alarm goes on they need to shut down the music. We solved it by turning the internet off to Sonos. When they play radio channels, the music stops after 10/15 sec, it is ok. But if they use Soundtrack/Spotify it plays the complete song to the end, and stops. Is there any way to adjust the buffer, or any another idea :) Thanks.
“Beam, Sub Mini, 2 x Sonos One SL. The App SUUUUUUCCCCKKKKSSSSS. It took me 5 weeks just to get the thing working and it kept cutting out. Then this morning a power outage and the freakin thing is out again. Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
HelloI currently use different sonos product under my account in my main residence. I have replaced my Playbase with a Beam and would like to install the Playbase in my summer house. This requires me to cretae a new system with a different wifi network, correct ? How should I proceed ? May I still use the same account ?Kind regards,Xavier
Hello Everyone,I have just built a mother in suite above my garage. I would like to split my current Sonos system into two separate systems so that guests can listen to music independent of the main house. Both systems would be using the same WIFI network. I would like to move over 2 sonos move 2, 2 sonos five, and 1 sonos sub. 1-How do I create a second system on my Android S22utra to control the new and old system separately?2-I am guessing that the speakers being moved from the main house to the mother in law suite need to be reset?3-Will both systems be able to be operated at the same time independently of each other?4-I have EERO pro WIFI. Thanks for any help. Please dumb it down so that I can actually be successful in following your instructions!
We have 2x Play 5s (Gen 1), a Play 3 and a Play 1. We want to add new gen speakers (a move and two Era 100s) but want to continue using the old ones as well.I understand we will have to set up a second Sonos group using S2 (I think) and that they will not be in sync. Do we need a separate controller for each or can the S1 and S2 apps coexist on the same controller (iPhone 14s in this case)? What else should I do or watch out for! Thanks to those who've gone before.
How do I let renters access the Sonos system in our vacation property?
We currently have 2 x ONE: one in the lounge, one in the kitchen and both grouped. Music is streamed all day as we WFH.We’re thinking of buying a Beam soundbar for the lounge, and using that to listen all day in the lounge and grouped with the kitchen, and then when we watch TV. We’ve not really thought about what to do with the current lounge ONE.When we watch TV, will we need to un-group the lounge Beam and kitchen ONE, or is there a way to set this up so we don’t have to ungroup/group each time we watch TV?We could have the spare ONE in the lounge too, can I set up sub-groups? e.g.Group 1(ALL) > kitchen ONE, Lounge ONE, Lounge BeamGroup 2 (LOUNGE) > Lounge ONE, Lounge BeamAnd still stream music in the kitche whilst watching TV in the lounge? Thanks in advance, hope that I’ve managed to ask this in an understandable way!
In the first of many Community hosted events, we are happy to announce a Technical Q&A with Coen Westerveld, Principal Product Manager. Coen is a long-time veteran at Sonos joining back in 2013. Recently, he helped to bring Move 2 to life and will be able to answer questions pulled directly from this thread, as well as the thread on the Sonos subreddit. We will close for questions in about a week (5th of November).Need some inspiration for what questions to ask? Maybe a question or two comes to mind after reading our Essential Guide to Move 2. Or after reading the product page for the Move 2, you feel there is something else that you would love to know more about. So what’s on your mind? Have any questions for Coen about Move 2? Drop them down below! We’ll compile all the questions and share them back here.PS, we also got a video showing how the Move 2 is made 👀EDIT: After a lot of work from Coen and his team, we got answers to your questions.Coen and his team could not answer them
For the rear speakers, I purchased the Sanus One Floor Stand. After use, I don't find it very practical, because the speakers are not really attached. Are there more suitable supports?Waiting for your return, I send you my best regards.
I have 14 Sonos units (1 unplugged) and have over recent years experienced poorer performance with multiple drop-outs, refusal to connect, lost speakers and so on.I’ve spent a lot of time with telephone support but feel progress is slow. Over the ears I’ve been told to Replace Bridge with Boost Wire a Sonos unit to router Remove Boost Un-wire Sonos unit and connect directly to Wi-Fi Then more recently it was gently suggested I consider a Wi-Fi mesh would be a good idea - I duly bought a TP-Link system and then when I continued to have issues Sonos suggested I change the channel only to discover this system chooses automatically and cannot change manually. Wire a unit - After that last suggestion last week I decided to move one of the TP-Link nodes near my new ERA 100s and wire that. - Nope. Need additional hardware to do that now. So I connected to one of my Play 3s (It means the node is not roughly midday between the main router and most distant ERA100 so presume not ideal). Then to
Moved to VA from PA. Plugged in soundbar using optical cable and it played TV feed. Plugged in sub and nothing. I tried using app to control everything but it can’t find my system at all. I also have a couple small speakers for other rooms and I haven’t even tried to set those up yet as I’m working on the living room first.
Merci ENGLISH :Hello,My neighbor managed to access our sonos system (play 5, sonos one, sonos roam) using Spotify. He set it off in the middle of the night at 3 a.m., playing the music at full volume. It woke up the whole family. We're in conflict with him, so it was malicious use.His internet box was visible in the "manage networks" menu. What can I do to secure access to my devices? We bought these wall mounts and are having difficulty in unlocking the Mount in order to pivot the speakers……..help! we would appreciate it some one could assist us in this matter. thanks.
I have an existing Sonos Gen 1 system (Play 5, Play 3, Play 1) working with the Gen 1 app. All’s well with that. Yesterday I bought a Sonos Beam Gen 2 which I found out won’t work with the Gen 1 speakers I already have. It doesn’t want to connect at all - I get a message that says: “This system includes products that aren’t compatible with Sonos S2. You have options: (1) Open Sonos S1 Controller to control or update the system, (2) Set up a new system using the Sonos S2 app. All products must be S2 compatible.”I would think that I could still use my existing S1 system with the S1 app and use the S2 app to control the Beam Gen 2. That doesn’t seem to be the case. There’s another message I get while trying to set up the Beam Gen 2 telling me I could set it up in the S1 app and lose functionality. Is it possible to have Gen 1 in the S1 app and also Gen 2 in the S2 app simultaneously on the same WiFi network? How can I deal with problems getting the Beam Gen 2 set up? Do I have t
I gave my Playbar and Sub to a relative without properly removing them from my system. I now can’t access any rooms in my app, and they can’t setup the speakers I gave them.Do I need to go so far as to bring the speakers back to my home? Suggestions?
Thought I would simply share this.My better half & I were discussing a room redesign and the following observation was made“You have a lot of records that are taking up space that we could use, I don’t want you to get rid of them but maybe some of them could go elsewhere and you get them out when you want to listen to them. And, lets be honest, you don’t sit down and listen to them very often and even then it is probably only a small subset as you spend most of your time with the Sonos on”This was fair comment and it got me thinking. These LPs were bought to be listened to and that wasn’t happening, yes of course I could listen via Deezer or other streaming services but somehow that didn’t happen very often and I had to remember that I had the specific LP, and of course never when I was out and about. They were all bought for a reason and in most cases they are still good albums (although one or two make me question my teenager taste).Over the years I have ripped a few of them to F
I am not getting anywhere with Sonos support and am wondering if someone here knows someone who can help. I’ve been a Sonos customer since 2007 (I had Controller 100s and ZonePlayers!) and have purchased hundreds of dollars worth of equipment over the years. This is unbelievably frustrating. Apologies for the length, but I want to lay out the entire story. In March of this year I bought two Era 100s, one white and one black. A couple months ago, I started to notice that the grille on the white one had cracks. I’m pretty sure they were not there when I unboxed it: The black Era 100 did not show this issue. The speaker functioned fine, but it was very unsightly and these speakers are expensive, so I thought I should request a replacement under the warranty.I did a support chat (ticket ********) in late September and was told I would be contacted via email. On September 26 I received an email that gave me RMA number RO-****** and a link to process my return, which I did.The same day I rece
I have a Sonos amp and I want to connect it only to a Sonos five. it's possible? how is it done?
Update to Sonos app from Apple App Store then IOS17.4 dev beta now the app does not work? Is there a work around to allow Sonos app to work in new iOS beta?

Hi I am moving from states to Germany and seeking any information on using my system in Germany. Will it work with simple plug converters
I recently upgraded my Sonos Playbar for an Arc with the discount and I wonder if I can gift the old Playbar to my daughter or has it been made unusable?Thank you.
SHORT VERSIONI will soon do a hardware upgrade of the S1-only components of a Sonos system that is currently split between S1 and S2, and want to unify those separate systems into a single S2 system. What is the correct process for doing this, particularly in regards to when I add the new components? The online documentation I have found does not directly address some of the concerns I mention in the long version. In several places it just says to follow the prompts, but that gives no overview of what to expect.LONG VERSIONMy current Sonos configuration consists of: S1-only compatible components running S1: Play:5 (Gen 1) x2, Connect:Amp (Gen 1) S1/S2 compatible components running S1: Move, Play:1 S2-only compatible components running S2: Roam I have ordered hardware upgrades for the Play:5s and Connect:Amp (Fives and an Amp), but am unsure of the best process for unifying the separate systems into a single S2 system. The only step I feel certain of is using the Product Removal Tool
Link Google has successfully convinced a California federal judge that it did not infringe on Sonos' multi-room audio patents. As Reuters reports, US District Judge William Alsup has thrown out a previous verdict that slapped the tech giant with a $32.5 million fine for infringing on patents held by Sonos related to managing groups of speakers. The judge explained that Sonos' patents for the lawsuit "ostensibly descended from [a] 2006 provisional application." However, the company apparently didn't file the applications for the patents in question until 2019, and it didn't roll out the technology to its own products until 2020. That's years after Google, in 2014, presented Sonos with a plan to use multi-room audio technology while exploring a collaboration. Maybe we can get Chromecast on Sonos now, or Google Assistant on new speakers :) (JOKING)
