Hello, my Sonos system worked well with Google Assistant for years. I use roam and beam for voice control. All my Sonos products are shown in Google Home, while lately when I ask Google Assistant to play music on any named Sonos player, it just replies "the mode is not available". I have tried restart wifi router, reset Sonos system, re-connect Google assistant, nothing works. Any help is very much welcomed.
I just set up Move with google assistant. GA recognizes the device and I can say “turn volume up/down” etc and it works. However when I say “pause music (on move)” GA says nothing is playing although it actually is. Also, cannot start any playback from Sonos (eg. TuneIn radio station or my playlists). GA says it needs more info. So GA seems to recognize the device but not Sonos.I have removed and re-installed GA and Move (factory reset). I have tried re-linking my Sonos account to GA. No change. Any suggestions please?
Hi community, (and sonos dev team I hope )I find two post regarding this issue but I can’t get any solution about it…Google Assistant come with a great feature named “Voice Match” that permit multiple users from a same house to retrieve custom data from their own data account (Google Home can share device to different Google account invited in a “house” and retrieve custom information from calendar and other)When I enable the Google Assistant on my Sonos One, I’m able to add the “Voice Match” feature on the Google Home app from the Google account that owned the Sonos One device. When another Google member from my house try to enable the “Voice Match” feature, they are able to list the Sonos One but the get an auth error about an auth check failure. The same test work on Google Nest device.Any idea on that ?there is some picture about that issue :Working (account that own the Sonos device)Not Working (another member from the house) Moderator Edit: Removed images with personally identif
I’m thinking about buying a Sonos One to replace my google home. I would like to know if the Sonos One can accept the following voice commands seamlessly: "Hey Google, play What's Up by Miles Davis" (using Google Play Music) and "Hey Google, play Seventies on Seven on SiriusXM" (using SiriusXM)
Hi just got my first Sonos product, a Beam. I’ve got google assistant speakers (Google Home and minis) set up a group to play music all together. I’ve tried to set up my Sonos Beam into this group to play music etc… all together so Google home Max, Nest minis and Sonos Beam together but cannot seem to include my new Beam. Can I please get some advice, this was one of the key reasons for me purchasing the Beam so that I could add it to my existing Google Home group of Speakers. I’m really quite disappointed now. Thanks
Until 2 days ago I did not experience this problem. When I ask Google Assistant to play something on Spotify I first get a conformation it will play it. Followed directly by a message that it cannot play because my Spotify Premium account is not configured correctly. It’s not ‘same same’ in the Sonos app as it in in Assistant according to the error message. The thing is… it is as far as I know. On Sonos we have 4 accounts (mine, wife, kids), the last one used is mine. And on Assistant it is mine.I’ve disconnected and reconnected Assistant, Spotify on the Assistant and Spotify on Sonos. But I keep getting this message.I can still voice control the playlist I put on manually with the app. It will pause and resume the music for example.I saw an older topic also mention this, but that it just ‘fixed itself’.
I have just bought a new TV (LG OLED 48cx -= WEB OS 5). The sound output from the TV to the Sonos Arc works fine, but the google assistant won’t budge from trying to turn on the old Android TV box instead of interacting with the new TV. Old setup: antenna->Android TV with coax->TV with HDMI->Sonos Arc with TOSLINK to HDMI adapter (the Arc port on the the old TV was fried). With that setup, the Google assistant was able to turn the android TV on/off New setup: antenna→ LG TV with coax → Sonos Arc with HDMI through eArc port. The sound output works fine but the google assistant says “the living room TV is not available” when trying to gt it to urn the TV on/off.This morning I connected the android TV to the old TV upstairs to watch the Euro2020. The Android box is connected over wifi to the modem and with HDMI to the old TV, and when I asked the google assistant to turn the TV on, it switched the android box on over the network…I tried to uninstall it and reinstall + let it conn
Hi Folks, I recently got an email from Sonos saying that we can now play music from Apple Music using Google Assistant. However, whenever I try to play music using my Sonos One I get an error "Okay, playing music using Apple Music... I'm sorry there was an error with Sonos One". Can anyone help me out with this? The email states that the Google Assistant integration leverages the Apple Music subscription using the Sonos App, so there shouldn't be any issues. Below is a picture of the email. Thank you, Phillip K
Still trying to get my GA routines working again on my Sonos Ones, but I’m just encountering one error after another that makes it difficult to even pinpoint the specific problems. That’s very frustrating! First of all the GA routines invoked on my Sonos speakers are now failing about 30% of the time in the last few weeks. It tends to come and go in bursts - if there’s one failure, there are lots more for a while, then things settle down. (Just to be clear, there are no failures on my Google Home speakers, no failures on the Echo Dot located right next to the Sonos speakers, and no failures if I switch to Alexa as the voice assistant on Sonos). Whenever there is a failure, GA on Sonos locks up for more than a minute with the “active” LED on, then says something went wrong. Sometimes it’s worse - for example if I ask it to play my news briefing, the response is sometimes delayed for several minutes, during which time the active LED is not on, and GA on Sonos will not respond to any
Many of us were waiting for Google Assistant integration to Sonos and the most important thing for us was the hope that it brings Chromecast built-in to Sonos but today we can see that... No. No Chromecast on Sonos. That is very very sad. Assistant is useless with some artists and songs with complicated names and often it is not the most suitable way to play music. And Android users still can't cast any sound from their phones to Sonos (iOS users can via Airplay 2). Sad but true.
Hi Everyone Is there a way to stop Google being so vocal when it replies to commands like turning off the lights? On my Google home device it just chimes but on my Sonos One it replies with some thing like. "OK turning off three lights". All the devices are in the same room. Thanks Ryan
is there a workaround in making voice assistant available? it says not available in your region. this is disappointing. i have an echo show and alexa is available. is there a workaround on this? i live in the philippines. without this voice assistant it’s just another ordinary speaker. for the price i paid i expected this to be available.
Got the speakers based on voice command and True Tone….only to find out that this functionality is not available in NZ….I was also looking to add these speakers to a group using Google home, also not available in NZ…I now have a nice pair of Dumb speakers…Is there a workaround or hack?
My Sonos One, which was working fine until today, suddenly quit responding to voice commands using the Google Assistant. Starting this morning when I gave it any voice command it responded back with an “unable to connect to Sonos” message. I tried a reset on the device. When I attempt to set it up again I get to this point in the process …. ConnectingPlease wait while the connection is completed … It spins its wheels for a few minutes and eventually comes back with this message: Not connectedYour Sonos product was not found. If your product is a long way from your router, you may need to try moving it closer. I’ve tried this multiple times. I also tried the option to re-add the speaker while connected directly to the router but the result was the same. I also rebooted the router. I also quit and restarted the Sonos app. I have another Sonos One speaker which is working fine, so this does not appear to be a network or environmental problem. Help!
A few weeks ago, Google made YouTube Playlists work on Google Assistant devices. While it's great that I can now request and listen to YTM playlists on my Nest Hub and minis, it broke being able to play playlists from YouTube music on all of my Sonos devices. Sonos One:"Play Lady Gaga" -> "Playing Lady Gaga on YouTube Music" (= no problem)"Play Current Favorites" -> "I also need to know which device to use""Play Current Favorites on the Bathroom Speaker" -> "Sorry, I can only play videos on devices using Chromecast or on cast enabled devices" Nest Hub"Play Lady Gaga" -> "Playing Lady Gaga on YouTube Music" (= no problem)"Play Current Favorites" -> "ok, your youtube music playlist called Current Favorites. Here you go" (= no problem) Nest Hub with Sonos Play:1 as default speaker"Play Lady Gaga" -> "Sure, Lady Gaga from YouTube Music. Playing on Bedroom Sonos" (= no problem)"Play Current Favorites" -> "I can't do that here but you can ask me to do that on one of your
Since recent update Google Assistant can't find or connect with One and Playbase and although previously the One would work with Google Assistant voice control after the update Google cannot find / connect with One. Anyone know how to fix this?
Since S2, I no longer seem to be able to say Play BBC Radion 2 in the office. Google replies with “OK, BBC Radio 2 from TuneIn. Playing on Office” followed immediately by “Sorry, I can't find what you asked for” If I say “Play some Queen in the office” I get “Playing the album Greatest Hits on Spotify…” and that works fine. Playing Tunein from the app also works OK.
I have successfully linked Google Home (on my android phone) with Sonos, so I can play music on the Sonos Play 1 by saying "Hey Google play in the kitchen" (where "kitchen" is the name of my Sonos Play 1 in the kitchen). So far, so good! : ) Google Home has "routines" such as playing the news and weather when you say "OK Google, good morning". But I don't know how to have the "routine" play from the Sonos speaker. On the Google Home app on my phone if I select "Routines" then it gives me the option to "Play routines on" and an Edit link If I click the Edit link I can select from

This device
Google mini
but I can't select the Sonos speakers (e.g. "kitchen") Is there a way to achieve this? Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
I have Play5 and Play3 speakers throughout our home. My Sonos account is logged in through the same email address I use for my Google Assistant. My Sonos account correctly lists all of my speakers I own as part of my system. So why, when setting up the Google Assistant skill, am I unable to get the setup wizard to recognize that fact and continue through the setup? I am located in the USA and I get the error saying its not available however a few days prior it would allow me to add the service but I never completed the setup. Am I missing something here? Don't see a location or language setting that would now cause this error.
Where in my Sonos options do I select the country? Or is this a case of needing to use a VPN temporarily? I would like to change it to the USA so I can enable Google Assistant. I imagine this means I'll start hearing dates in the wrong order, and temperature in fahrenheit, but I can put up with that for the time being until GA is launched in Australia.
I keep getting the message “looks like there aren’t any other speakers connected on your home network so I can’t broadcast your message.” I am able to group and play on my play one speakers with the the sonos app and I can also use Spotify direct control so I know they are on the network. I am also able to see the speakers in the google home app. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this? From the home app I try to broadcast and it says broadcasting now but nothing is broadcasted. TIA -Tom
