As Smart Home enthusiast i want to control my home by voice without the cloud. There are solutions like rhasspy (https://rhasspy.readthedocs.io/en/latest/) for this. But there is no out of the box Hardware like Sonos Speakers which can be used for input. To not reinventing the wheel for every solution of this kind a streaming server as option for voice assistants would be very helpfull. So each third party service can hookup this stream and do its thing with the audio.
Since a few days the integration between IFTTT and Sonos stopped working. I can connect from IFTTT to Sonos but no room/favorite infos show up. Has there been any change?
Sonos, After all this waiting. And after multiple articles. And after multiple phone calls to your service reps (including today), I’m now being told that you cannot group your Sonos system devices with your Google Home devices (after being told for months and more than a year that the aid be able to group them). Even the rep I spoke with today tried to help me and didn’t find out it wasn’t possible until he spoke to a system engineer. You can do it with Amazon devices, but STILL not with Google devices In all honesty, what is the point of adding Google assistant to Sonos if you can’t even use Sonos speakers with Google Speakers together in a group? It’s pretty useless for me to be in living room, have to get up and walk to my kitchen to say “hey google, play x in my Living Room” and then walk back.
I’m about to install Logitech Circle View Doorbell and Camera. I’d like to utilize one or more of my Sonos One Speakers through AirPlay on Apple HomeKit. Is this possible? I’d like to avoid buying Apple’s Home Hub.
Currently, I have all my office equipment (monitor, lights, computer, etc) connected to a single Philips Hue Smart Plug. I have a Google Home speaker that is linked with the Philips Hue plug via bluetooth. I can give my Google speaker commands like “Turn on the office” or “Turn off the office” and it will turn the plug on or off. It works great. The Google Home speaker is not great in terms of audio quality and I would like to replace it with a SONOS speaker to match all the other SONOS speakers I have around the house. Will any SONOS speaker be able to control my Philips Smart Plug using a voice assistant? Keep in mind that I do not have a Philips Hue Bridge, so the speaker needs to have the ability to connect via bluetooth.
All of my Sonos speakers recently starting asking for an Airplay password even though I have the password requirement disabled in Apple’s home app. I have not been able to figure out how to disable the password prompt and can no longer use Airplay.Anyone know how to fix?
With the prospect of having parties once more now on the horizon perhaps you're looking for a way to make sure yours are going to be the talk of the town? If you have a Sonos system, a Sonos Port or Connect, a PC and the Philips Hue lighting system in your home, here’s one way of guaranteeing your friends and family will be talking about your parties for some time:This is a guide on how to use a Port/Connect and a PC/laptop to link your Sonos system and your Philips Hue system together so that you can have your Hue lights react to the music playing on Sonos. This method does require the Hue Bridge v2 device but does not require the Philips Hue HDMI Sync box.If you don’t have a Connect or Port, but do have a first-generation Play:5, you could use the headphone socket on it and a 3.5mm to 3.5mm lead. The volume control for the Play:5 would come into play, however. For now, instructions are for Microsoft Windows 10 and macOS but the troubleshooting/help steps in red are for Windows only. St
Hi guys, A year ago when I moved, I fulfilled myself a long-held dream and got a Sonos multiroom sound system that I am really happy with. Also, this flat has a smart home system that, using KNX, operates everything from heating and light to sun blinds. To control it I can use wall switches or a very simple app. Since I have Sonos microphones in every room, I asked a technician if it’s possible to somehow make use of those mics to control the KNX smart home via voice commands using my Sonos speakers. He was under the impression that the “RealKNX Air Server” would achieve this, however I was informed they are only able to control Sonos speakers for sound output, not the other way around as voice command input for the smart home system (which is ironic since Sonos bought RealKNX in 2019 and now feature their offline voice assistant Snips as “Sonos Voice Control”). This means that with a RealKNX Air server (in combination with their gateway config called “ProServ”) I would need additional
Yonomi has now sunsetted. I was using that app to group all of my speakers in the middle of the night prior to my morning alarm going off. My alarm is a radio station and I want to hear it in the whole house as I get ready in the morning. I have looked at IFTTT and it doesn’t look like that is possible. I have also looked at Apple shortcuts but that isn’t possible. I have Apple products only, no android. I have Alexa as well as Google at home. Any suggestions??? It is just maddening that Sonos hasn’t made this possible yet!!!
I am willing to pay someone in Sono to produce an app to be able to sound on the hour and on the 1/2 hour of choosing various church Bells that would even stop the music for the on the hour church bell and 1/2 hour bell sound. I would even let sonos rent the app to make some monies . I live in the mountains and work outside and would love to know what time it is by listening to the church Bells.
I have an older Sonos Play 1 and Play 3 and they are great. They are all communicating with my Orbi mesh router and have been for years. Smartthings can’t seem to control them via the current app on my iPhone 14. I have several routines on Smartthings that will pause/play the speakers at given times. Here’s the rub...the Sonos speakers will no longer accept commands from the Smartthings app. However, the Smartthings app DOES recognize a change in status! If I try to control the Sonos via the Smartthings app, nothing happens. Yet, if I control a speaker via the Sonos app, the Smartthings app notices the change! So, we know that the Smartthings “sees” the speakers and knows status but won’t control. I’ve deleted and reconnected the Sonos devices to the Smartthings app and it works...ONCE. I’m thinking that the Smartthings app is the issue as the Sonos app and Alexa all control the Sonos with no problem. iPhone 14 iOS 16.6Oh… and what is the WAP Tigger (trigger?). I look up the definition
My SmartThings Hub can’t find my 3 Amp. I have try connected Amp by ethernet and wifi. My other speaker (Play1, Play5, Symfonisk) work great with SmartThings. But my Amp isn’t find.I have try with the Search near by and by the Sonos make.My SmartThings Hub is connected by ethernet on the same network. How can I have my Amp in the ST Hub ?
I own an Arc connected to 2 symfonisk as surround. Is it possible to turn on and off the lights of the symfonisk via the Arc’s voice control?
Hello,I have 4 zoneplayers100. THey work great, but recently one of them stopped responding to API call from third party. In my smarthome (home assistant), the sonos keeps appearing and disappearing and is not controllable. When I try to reach the webpage, I get ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED.Does anybody have an idea how to solve this?
I keep getting the error “Could not connect Sonos right now. Please try again later.” when trying to connect Sonos to IFTTT. Any ideas?
SAMSUNG OLEDSONOS BEAM GEN2 ERA 100 MINI WOOFERALEXA AND SONOS VOICE ENABLED.Any update on the ability to voice command "tv off" using sonos or alexa voice? The post I see are a few years old. The older post do explain that Samsung has disabled the TV off command. Any work arounds?
Hi, Do you now if i can have the Sonos S2 app on a FireTV by the store? I didn’t found any information about. My setup is 6 One, 1 beam and 1 sub. I got an Amazon Echo Show 15 to have a pannel to control all my other devices. On this tablet,i got FireTV. I wan’t to control the music all round my house whit it but Spotify Connect is not enabled on FireTV by the spotify app and Sonos didn’t make an app on FireTVAnyone have a solution? :( (sorry for my worst english)
My ARC tends to rob the microphone over my Amazon Dot in a nearby room. So, when the ARC Alexa responds, it really can’t be heard from the other room where the Alexa wake request was issued.is there a way to make the microphone less sensitive on the Arc? I don’t want to disable it entirely as I do use the functionality when in that room, but want it to play well with my Amazon Echo and dots in other rooms.
My Samsung frame TV’s can pop up a video alert on my TV when my Ring Pro Doorbell or Arlo Security cameras detect motion. I received a motion notification on-screen along with the triggered camera’s video stream. This works perfectly until I connect a Sonos ARC sound bar. When I use the sound bar I get the motion notification on screen but no video from the camera appears. If I go through the menus and trigger the cameras I can see the video on the TV but it will not display the video stream when using the Sonos ARC sound bars. It does work if I use a Samsung sound bar. Any ideas how to rectify this issue. I’d hate to throw out 3 Sonos ARC sound bars due to this issue.
I have a brand new Sonos Amp that I just set up to control a set of outdoor speakers. Everything is working great except that I cannot change the Sonos amp volume using Siri voice control. I have the Amp added to HomeKit and it is listed as an AirPlay option. Should I set the Sonos amp volume to a midpoint level and then use the volume option in say Apple Music to adjust the volume being said from the iPhone or is there a better way? Thanks,
Can’t add my Sonos to Apple homekit. Searched all on the web and no solution works. Have tried everything i found. Is there any plan to solve this issue? Loosing my faith in Sonos soon if this not will be fixed imidiatly.
I have made a simple automation with Apple Home on iPhone to start music when I got home. I have an Apple TV to manage Apple Home. It has worked at first attempt and also I made an interesting discover.Basically the music is played from the Apple TV and airplayed to my Beam and One, but the Apple TV stays off (at least: the led light is off). also the TV has not been turned on.So it seems that the Apple TV is capable of airplaying music without turning on the TV, but only with an automation. would be nice to use this features also from Apple Music, this would be a very good alternative to Sonos App, because basically your smartphone is not streaming anything, just link with the Sonos app
Hello. I am a very happy user of Logitech Media Server and now have Control4. Unfortunately, there is no LMS api for Control4. Does anyone know of a way that the Sonos App can access my Logitech Media Servier? (I am not asking if LMS can control sonos end points -- it does via the UPNP plugins but I don’t have any Sonos end points.) Thanks much… darien
Following situation:I have an Interkom (Fibaro) device which is connected to a Home Center 3 Hub. I am using Sonos as a sound speaker. Now, when I install the Sonos Plug-In in the HC3 web app, I can only start / pause / stop playing music on Sonos. Is there a way to trigger just a simple Door Bell (eg. MP3) in Sonos ? I have also enabled Alexa / Sonos Skills, but not quite clear where and how I could trigger some Door Bell Sounds in Sonos ?Can someone help ? Thanks Tom
