5.1 speaker set up
I’m looking into getting a Sonos Home Theatre system and I have been getting conflicting information from reps at Best Buy and (old) posts on the sonos community. Can the following set up work for a true 5.1 surround system; 1 x Ray, 4 x OneSLs, 1 x Sub (gen 3) ?Also, will the system mesh into the three IKEA speakers I’ve got already for music?I’ve seen (very old) posts that say ‘no’. And I spoke to reps at Best Buy who say ‘yes’ (some times definite and sometimes ‘hypothetically’)
Sonos Arc + PS5 + Linear PCM
There’s been a lot of discussion around this issue but I’ve seen no definitive answer from a Sonos rep so let me try asking based on my personal setup. I have a Sony PS5 connected to a Sony AG9 OLED via the HDMI 1 port (enhanced). That TV is connected to a Sonos ARC via the HDMI 3 port (eARC, enhanced) with the Sub (gen 3) and x2 One SLs.The TV sound settings are as follows:Speakers: Audio System A/V sync: Auto eARC mode: Auto Digital audio out: Auto 1 Digital audio out volume: Max Dolby Digital Plus output: Dolby Digital Plus Pass through mode: Auto The Arc has successfully output Dolby Digital Plus, DD+ and Atmos in testing with various Android TV streaming apps including Netflix, Prime, Disney+ and Apple TV+. So the TV using it’s built-in apps are performing great. The PS5 however is a different story... The PS5 settings are as follows:HDMI Device Type: AV Amplifier Number of Channels: 5.1 Audio Format: Linear PCMThe Sonos App tells me that the audio in this configuration is Multich
Why doesn't Netflix play 5.1 through Dish? Does work directly from tv though.
Brand new Sonos Arc, subwoofer, and 2x 1SL’s. Brand new Samsung QN90B. Sonos is hooked up to eARC port with high speed new HDMI cables. The Dish gives 5.1 sound on regular tv channels and Amazon app on Dish. But when I stream Netflix movie through Dish app, it’s flat stereo sound and nothing from rear speakers. If I use the Netflix app on the Samsung tv, I do get 5.1 sound. Why?And where on the Sonos app on Android phone does it show what the sound quality/type is?

audio vers tv vers Sonos Amp Connect -
Cdt

Playing TV Sound In Other Rooms - ISSUE
I have a 2022 Sonos Arc, Sub, 2x Rear One SL speakers in the TV Area. When grouping the Sonos Five in the kitchen or Sonos One SL in the Bedroom, both these speakers are cutting out. This only happens when listening to sound through the TV. (YouTube, regular TV channels etc).It does not happen when listening to Spotify through the Sonos app. When speaking to Sonos customer service for the 3rd time this week about the issue, the 3rd person has now confirmed it is not possible to play sound from the TV through more than the Arc, Sub and 2x SL rear speakers (5.1 surround set up).Any speakers grouped outside of the 5.1 set up will get this intermittent cutting out. I have even tried Ethernet directly into these speakers from the router. Which I suspect the Sonos Boost will replicate if purchased. Sometimes it can work without issues and sometimes it’s really bad. More so than not it is bad. Network speed here is:150mb Download (Fibre to premises)30mb Upload (Fibre to premises) Does anyone ha
AMP+Ceiling Speaker+A Sonos Sound Bar = TV stereo sound?
Hi Here is my current setup. Four Sonos Ceiling Speakers hard wired to an Sonos AMP. A Bluetooth receive Line-In to the Amp. Have my TV connecting to the Bluetooth Receive. From this, I am able to listen to the TV using the Ceiling Speaker. It’s somewhat surrounded. I frankly like it. The problem being the bluetooth connection is not stable. Plus, every-time, I have to manually connect TV to the Bluetooth receiver. The TV is far away from the AMP, connect through cable is just not happening. I’m looking for a better solution to wireless connect TV to the AMP. Would a Sonos sound bar, such as Arc or Beam help? I’ve read something like connect Beam with TV through HTMI and as long as Beam and Amp in the same WIfi, they can play together. Is that true? If so, is this gonna actually add more channels or just making it “sound louder”? What would be the ideal setup to create the best TV surround sound using the In-Ceiling speakers? Or are they just not meant for TV but for Music instead?
Sonos Streaming Device (selector?)
So many of us heard the rumors that one of the upcoming devices is a streaming unit. I'm all in on that (apple tv and firestick is awful). At the same time, many of us using an Arc or Beam have either an issue of no E-arc on our TVs or on some units (samsungs for example) the TVs really struggle to connect and transfer data properly. As a result ma y of us have had to spend quit a bit on HDfury products to get around these issues. I'd hope had hoped Sonos's streaming device would include a selector and the option to seperate the audio similar to an HDfury Arcana, but I'm sure this isn't going to be the case. So I am really hoping now that they produce an hdmi selector that also acts in the manner that the Arcana and Vrroom works.
UK TV for Virgin Media 360 Box and Beam 2
Just hoping someone can help me sort out my sound issues. I am new here and a bit of a beginner in this stuff so please bear with me. My TV is a Samsung QR49Q7FAM. I have recently bought a Beam 2 and two Sonos 1 as surrounds using the Sonos 2 App. My TV doesn't have E-Arc (as far as I know) so I have a 3 way optical splitter and have connected my TV, Virgin Media 360 Box and a Samsung BluRay DVD player by optical cables as inputs with the output going by optical cable to the Beam 2, using the Sonos supplied adapter. If I watch a movie or sport with 5.1 output from my Virgin Media 360 Box the surround sound is working as 5.1 and I can hear the rear speakers. Its good! Recently I watched some of the Rugby Internationals through the Amazon Prime App on my Virgin Media 360 Box and the sound was also 5.1. I started watching The Rings of Power through the Amazon Prime App on my Virgin Media 360 Box and got no sound at all from the Virgin Media 360 Box output. I switched to the TV in
Where is the best placement for the sub in my basmenet set up?
I have two One Sl for my surround sound system with the arc below my tv. One of them is behind the couch that is on the back wall and the second is between the two couches on the side wall. I was looking to buy a sub and don’t know where is the best placement. I don’t want it under my arc. I was thinking fo put it either behind the couch on the back wall and I would move the one sl to the other outlet where I marked on the picture. Or I would put it when I mark the number 1 in the picture and I would move the One Sl to the outlet I mark. Let me know what you guys think.
