I am getting rid of Sonos crap

how many times will we support Sonos abruptly setting new rules that makes the products that we own and paid for unable to be used. there was the change from S1 to S2 they finally reverted by maintaining the old app, and now the new crappy app that simply offer LESS features than the previous one.  This is in their DNA, sorry I don’t want to be on the hook with this kind of company. It might be attracting for a business to be able to stop their customers enjoying their product forcing them to buy new ones, but not for me.

Moving to a new house

Here’s a possibly dumb question, but I don’t like surprises so I thought I’d ask. We’re moving to a new house in a few months. In the new house, I will set up the same WiFi we have in our current house. I’m just going to unplug the WiFi router in our current house, and plug it in at the new house.I’m wondering if moving my Sonos system will be as simple as unplugging all our speakers in our current house, and plugging them all in at the new house. Since the speakers will find the same WiFi present, I’m thinking everything will just work.But, I’m not exactly sure I understand where my system configuration information is stored. I think I understand the speakers form a distributed system and I assume full system configuration is stored in each speaker. I assume any changes I make to the system are synchronized from speaker to speaker until all have the latest change. But, in order for the configuration to persist during power outages, etc, the speakers would have to have something like t

Was the Sonos 2 app created by a competitor trying to ruin the business? If so they have done a good job.Poor functionality, terrible user experience, its quite unbelievable in this day and age that a piece of software this bad has been launched.If the idea is to make us all buy new sonos products - DREAM ON.

sonos speaker being temoved from my profile

I went to turn on my system yesterday and noticed that 3 speakers and my Sonos amp were missing from my profile. I have around 10 speakers and one amp.  I tried to add them back but they were not found by the app. So I factory reseat them. The Beam added back but the Ray continued to have issues. Once I had them added back a few minutes past and they disappeared from my app again.   these are all store bought with no previous owners.  anyone see this before.

Wait, you are phasing out the desktop app in favor of a web app??  I live in a remote area, and Sonos has always worked without internet, our internet sucks at times. So without a desktop app, how will Sonos reach my large music file on my computer? This isn't what I wanted when I invested money in speakers. Will be looking at other options and not buying any more Sonos if this is the case.  Why are you guys destroying what Sonos was supposed to be? Sounds like you are losing lots of customers this way....

App amd Firmware updates have made all my speakers near worthless ! Am i alonr!?

Since the New ‘improved’ app came out and the latest firmware releases All my speakers are horribly unreliable.I also can no longer stream Apple music . i have removed and reset and reinstalled and factory reset and re-added and reregkstered and still extreme disfuntion. heck for a while my beam and Sub mini were coming on and off at extreme volumes and was incredibly annoying ( hard power cycle has seemed to help that one )  I am to the point i may take them all to Goodwill and let some other poor soul experience these things . Surely, i am not the only one !!! I know sorry i won’t call you Shirley…

setup loop. speaker not working

I can not Update my speaker. There is a constant loop saying log in to owner account. But nowhere to log out. Come on Sonos. You must solve this. Now

I got a prompt today on my SONOS app saying that an upcoming version of the App would remove support for some kind of local files.  Unfortunately I neglected to save a screenshot.  Does anybody know what this is about?

update so slow! please just bring the old back

I can’t believe with the technology out there the upgrade is worse than what it was. Skipping a song or adjusting the volume takes 30 seconds and we have a great WiFi connection. Can you please fix asap? It’s terrible

Firewall: Blocking Cloud Services

In one of the few responses out of the many questions asked at the AMA yesterday, there was mention of new cloud services and speaker control from the web.Does anyone know more about the security model used here?Is there any guidance around what ports need to be blocked if you *never* want access outside of your home?

​Then, I suggest that you give this podcast a listen.It is an excellent episode from the "How I Built This"-podcast, featuring John MacFarlane telling the story of Sonos's early days.There were parts of the story I didn't know, like the confrontation with Apple at a convention. Product suggestion: WiFi speakers that actually connect!?

When I bought my first Sonos speaker in 2010 or ‘12 I gave Sonos the benefit of the doubt. Company is new.. working out the kinks… but 14 years later and the newer devices I bought in 2018 still be struggling?? Occasionally people change their WiFi setup. Why must it be such an arduous task to get these damn WiFi speakers to connect to WiFi?!?!!🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬quit spending resources on beautifying the app… just make the speakers connect to the damn WIFI!!! Or Bluetooth, or WHATEVER… it boggles my mind that Tesla can update how a car drives over the air, as can apple, as can EVERY DAMN DEVICE I OWN… except Sonos, the WiFi speakers… don’t connect to WiFi!!!!
