So I'm going to be out in the country at a barn where there is no wi-fi (bad cell coverage too), but plenty of electricity. How do I play music from my iPhone via spotify (saved songs) or Apple Music?. I have a Play 5 with a line in, I have the right cable, but when I test it at home, it doesn't work. I can't seem to follow the steps in this FAQ https://sonos.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1091/~/using-line-in-on-sonos#autoplay I connect my iPhone, open up sonos do all the steps then try to play music from Apple Music and no sound I didn't know what "level" to choose, it didn't list iPhone, so I went with level 3 then level 10... nothing at either. Help? Suggestions?
I have successfully setup my Play5 via ethernet into my router. When I go to the wireless setup, Sonos is able to see my wireless network. When I connect and provide the password to the Sonos setup, the setup spins for a long time, then fails. My router is b/g capable, and I have no problem connecting to it with smartphones or computers. Any thoughts as to why Sonos is unable to connect to it?
I have an Amazon Echo Dot connected to the line-in on my connect amp. It's set to auto-select the line-in source whenever there's a signal on the line-in connectors. This "sort of" works, but the switching time is so slow that the first part of Alexa's response to an instruction is cut off, and short responses aren't heard at all. Anyone had success with this set up and can offer advice to reduce the switch-on time? It's not usable at the moment.
Hey I'm having what seems to be the very common spotify playback issues on my sonos system. Other services work fine (such as playing from my iPhone, internet radio) but spotify constantly stops playback mid track and skips tracks in the queue. I've tried removing the Spotify service from the controller and adding it back again, but no luck. Assistance would be appreciated! My diagnostic confirmation number is: 6938526.
Hi, I notice after the new beta the tv sound is rather sharp, and only coming from the playbar, not from surround speakers and sub. After switching to spotify with the sonos app, playing a song ( sound okay from all speakers) i switched back to tv in the app. Now the surround sound is ok. Seems to be a problem when sonos is switched on triggered by tv! Known problem?
I recently bought 2x play5 systems and 1 Play1 system. The problem that I experience is that the Play1 sometime stops a few seconds. I already placed the Play1 system on different places in room and also different rooms, but problem still remain. The 2x Play5 systems don't have this problem.
I have a ZP100 (way out of warrenty), that is "broken". It will connect with the Sonos Network and work for 10-15 minutes, after which time it simply turns itself off... no music, no lights, no signs of life. I can unplug it for a few minutes and plug it back in.... and voila! it good for another 10-15 minutes. Has anyone seen a similar problem? My first thought was that perhaps the power supply went bad. If I could fine a replacement power supply cheap enough I would diy replace. Any suggestions for how to troubleshoot? Thanks in advance
Allright, this is a weird one. I've got 2 Play:1's set up (2 different rooms) and 1 Connect in my living room, going to my amp with my TV as the line in to the Connect. So i've got 3 groups, each in a different room. When i select line in for the connect, to get my tv to play over the speakers, it works fine. When the input stops for a while (for instance when i pause netflix and select a new program to watch), my system suddenly decides to put the tv audio through to my Play 1 in the kitchen (always this one, never the other) instead of through the connect. This happens even when the play:1 has music playing. The connect still shows 'connection' with the line in input, but I need to press play again and need to stop the audio on the play:1. has anyone experienced this before, and/or is there anyone around to help me here? thanks in advance.
Hi. My sonos 1 does not turn up as an option in spotify when the speaker is wireless. (But I can play spotify songs from the sonos app. ) When i go through the setup i and have the speaker connected to the router with an ethernet cable everything works fine and i can play music from the spotify app, but as soon as I unplug the cable my speaker disappears from the spotify app. The same behaviour for all control sources (pc, android phone and a really ancient ipad2) From another thread on the board i read about that this maybe could have something to do with the routers MAC filter, but I dont have the MAC filter enabled.
I have 6 sonos connect devices on a Packedge SE18 network switch. They work fine for awhile, then sonos app stops working (iphone cannot connect) and everything else hanging on the switch stops working. When this happens I cannot see the sonos devices on the router, or one or two will show up as wired devices then will disappear next time I refresh the router to see what is connected. Oddly I can see them on FING which is looking at devices on my wireless network. The router doesn't report them as wireless devices. Since I'm using ethernet, isn't; leaving the sonos wireless on asking for trouble? On FING the IP addresses assigned to the Sonos MAC addresses are IP's not assigned to anyone on the router. The big clue here is the router cannot see my sonos connects. The installer daisy chained the sonos devices instead of running them directly to the switch. Is this correct?
I just upgraded to 7.1 this weekend and have not been able to get Sonos to work properly -- I have a Connect:Amp, Connect, Soundbar, Sub, Play 7 and two Play 1s -- Sonos usually 'finds' the soundbar and 2 Play 1s -- never 'finds' the Connects. I've rebooted my entire system, rebooted my wifi, installed and re-installed Sonos app -- twice!! -- but with no improvement. I've contacted customer support, but they're useless -- anyone got any suggestions?? -- Please!!!!!!!
I have an entire house driven by Sonos Connect Amps (9) and stream music all the time from my favorite stations like 30A Radio. The fidelity is good but when I switch to Apple Music (30-day trial) the music sounds muddy regardless of their radio source. This is a persistent issue (day-to-day) so this has to be something in the Codecs/setup. I am considering the online streaming sources (Pandora, Spotify, Apple, Google) for their higher fidelity but am pausing until I sort this out. I know that Sonos does not currently support higher resolution files so I'm wondering if this could be the issue I'm encountering. Any thoughts on what could be the issue?
Hi - My system was stable for almost a year, then suddenly one zone has begun dropping out. My system: 3 Sonos Connects Running through an 8 channel power amp Sonos Playbar, Sub, and 2 Sonos 1's set up as a surround zone 1 Sonos 1 "Floater" One of the three connects has stopped appearing. I've tried rebooting it, rebooting the router then it, etc. Usually when I reboot, it appears, plays music, then after about 5 minutes drops out. We haven't changed modems, routers, or anything hardware related. Any suggestions? Thanks. -Scott
Connection to Spotify has stopped working. I was listening to a Spotify playlist and it stopped mid-song. Now I can't browse Spotify library, can't even connect to reauthorise the account. Spotify app on the phone is working and other services on Sonos are working. It's just Spotify on the Sonos.
I'd like to know if it is possible to configure the play/pause button on top of the play 1, 3, and/or 5 to execute somekind of "command"? In my case, I'd think it would be awesome if I could press that button and a pre-chosen radiostation from tune in starts to play on my future play 3 in the kitchen. Does anyone know if it's possible?
I need to plug an echo dot into either my PLAY5 or Soundbar but the line in sockets are already being used to connect to TV's. Can I use a splitter that will automatically work without needing to switch it. Is there a way around this problem by getting a connect amp and using a 3.5mm mini stereo jack to phono L&R as an analogue line input from the echo dot?
Hello, I cannot connect to any of my 5 players around the house, but they still respond to the play/start button on each Player. I made the playlist before I became unable to connect with any player thru my Sonos app. The Sonos app tries to get me to add a player, as if I'm starting from scratch, but then can't complete the task so I am unable to control my players. It hasn't been problematic for the past 3 years or so. I've done things like cycling the power of my router and Boost to no avail. The "Not Connected" error message appears when I try to add a player, even though I've not changed the location of my router. Any advice?
I've recently powered down my playbar and after switching the power back on there is no sound and my Sonos controller can't find the playbar either. I've never powered down the player since it was set-up years ago. The LED on the side of the playbar is a solid white light. I decided to 'Add a player' in the controller menu but when i get to the stage where i have to press and release the two buttons on the side of the playbar and wait for the chime there is no chime. Can you guys please advise?
Hi- I have paired to Play 5s and since the recent system update yesterday the right channel of the pair keeps dropping. The system was running on wired Ethernet so far but I have now also tried Wireless both with a Sonos Bridge and Standard WiFi. Problem persists. Interestingly I can still use the dropped Play 5 keys to adjust volume on -the left Stereo channle but the device does not play the stream anymore. Any ideas? Stefan
I have a Play1 hardwired to router and another play 1 and playbar wireless. All three devices can be seen by my mac which is also hardwired to the router but the app on iPhone doesn't always show all devices. It only shows the play1 connected to the router but not the other two. sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Any ideas?
