Does Sonos share user data with its servers in China?
From investigative journalist Brian Krebs:Little Snitch reported today that Sonos tried to connect to a domain called tmp.sonoschina.com. I can't find much information about this domain, other than it is China-based but is out of a US ARIN IP block. This is the first time I've seen something like that from Sonos. I said no thanks. I get that the hardware is made an assembled there, but this makes me worry maybe the data's going there, too. Flying with a Sonos Beam 2
Hi! I am interested in buying a Sonos Beam 2 abroad in Australia, as it has much better pricing than what's available locally where I am based. But of course the challenge will be getting it home on the plane. Ideally would handcarry this in it's packaging, but I think it's a little too long for carryon dimensions both boxed or unboxed. I think it should be able to fit in checked baggage for sure unboxed, but of course that eats up a lot of space. Has anyone actually tried transporting a Sonos Beam via plane before?
Sonos One (2nd Gen) installation fails
I have been a long time user of Sonos S1 products -- Connect. After our move SWMBO demanded that wires be eliminated from the new home. So I purchased a Sonos One Gen 2, knowing that I would either need to downgrade it to work on S1 or I’d have to set up a separate Sonos system. I won’t go into the headaches and failure to connect using S1. I decided to go with a clean installation with the S2 model in hopes that this would work. In preparation I (a) unplugged the three Connect devices, (b) removed the S1 controller from the iPhone, (c) logged into my Unifi wifi access points to convert them all to 2.4 ghz signal only, (d) powered down the entire system so that access points, router and modem were all shut down and hopefully clean, (e) downloaded S2 controller and (e) rebooted the entire mess. S2 controller finds and configures the Sonos One Gen 2, but will not connect to my network with wifi. Yes, I tried the password several times, including copying it from the password manage
Surround drivers angle in Arc
Does anyone know what’s the firing angle of the drivers that produce the virtual surrounds in the Arc? (the second and the one before the last one). I can’t get them to impact on the rear wall, so I’m suspecting the room might be too big, making them to impact on the side walls. If there’s a chart for this, it would really come in handy. Thanks for any input!
Internet radio stream (AAC) not playing
I’ve followed the process of adding a new internet radio station to Sonos (AAC streaming). It appears to add ok, but when ‘Play’ is pressed, nothing happens. Other radio stations play fine through TuneIn and other radio services such as myTuner Radio.I used the advice in https://support.sonos.com/s/article/260?language=en_US, and have added the station using both the Windows client application, and the Android app. Neither will play in Sonos. The station URL in question (https://edge.iono.fm/xice/fmr_live_high.aac) plays just fine in a web browser. There are a number of threads that discuss issues with TuneIn in the UK, but the workaround suggested was to add the URL manually - but that doesn’t work for me either.Any tips?
Could we get clarification on what ports are used for the source and destination from configure your firewall page?
Hi,I’m trying to setup a network firewall with multiple VLANs. I found the page telling us which ports that we need to open up for sonos to work with a firewall in place. Currently the page only tells us what port and protocol (TCP / UDP) that sonos uses.I would like to know the source and destination for the firewall rules. Could we get more clarification in a format that also tells us the reasoning, source, destination, port, and protocol? Possible example below:Music Services Source: Sonos Device Destination: Internet Port 80 and 443 Protocol: TCP Sonos App Control Source: Client (iOS, Android, Mac, etc...) Destination: Sonos Device Port: xxx Protocol: UDP Casting Music: Source: Sonos Device Destination: Client (iOS, Android, Mac, etc...) Port: 30000-65,535 Protocol: TCP Reference to the page that lists all the ports that sonos uses:https://support.sonos.com/s/article/688?language=en_US
Roam Speaker WIGs OUT
Has anyone had a Roam Speaker emit a loud and disturbing sound that couldn’t be stopped unless the speaker is powered down? It sounded like a giant amplified cicada was hovering above me. Support had me power down and then up again. It’s again playing as designed. I’m told if it happens again, they will replace. It was a very unpleasant experience.
Sirius channel 793
I’ve been listening to channel 793 Court TV on Sirius through Sonos and today it says channel is no longer available. On their channel lineup it goes from 792 to 794. I know this is a Sirius issue but their customer service is awful. Does anyone know what is going on please? Thank you.
Meraki MS250 - Communication between VLANS - Multicast
Hello everyone.I’m desesperate. I have a switch CORE ms250 (support multicast (IGMP and multicast routing).SONOS device is on VLAN 13I have different devices on VLAN 14, for this example I have mi laptop with SONOS app and wired connected on one port of the MS250 on VLAN 14. I have enable multicast routing on SVI 13 and SVI 14, and setup the RP (I tested many configuration about the RP, sometimes for VLAN 13 or VLAN 14 but doesn’t work).Unfortunely my SONOS app on VLAN 14 doesn’t detect the SONOS device on vlan13 with all features that Meraki recommends.I have call Meraki TAC and I don’t have any answer about this behavior. Is there anybody that can HELP ME to know the correct configuration to enable communication between SONOS and my device from different VLANS?

Can't access my itunes library
I have submitted diagnostics 288056268I can no longer access my iTunes library or shared music folders currently stored on my Mac. Both my Play 1 speakers and the Mac controller are version 13.4.1 - all have been updated today to see if that was the issue. Firewall is set up correctly and it makes no difference whether the firewall is on or off. I tried to update the shared folder but received a 1002 error message. The mac controller has now been updating the music library for over an hour to no avail. Thanks in advance for your help!
