Does playbar actually work with television content. I have previously tried to connect television audio to the auxiliary device on my sonos system and the buffering creates a lip sync issue. I always assumed that Sonos buffered in order to maintain adjusted synchronization between devices.
Hi All, I have added a Play:1 to my set up and mounted it in the bathroom, because the UK dont alllow sockets in the bathroom I have mounted in the top corner of the room(on the wall) and dropped the power lead down from the loft. The speaker is mounted above head height, the problem here is that the bottom of the paly:1 looks unsightly with the sticker/plug/feet so I have mounted it upside down with the status light and buttons facing down. Also the buttons are reachable/usable and as sonos can be read both ways the speaker looks the correct way up!! Looks great!:) My only concern is with the humidity proof claims, with the plug being on the top is there more potential for condensated water to seep in to the AC connection? Had several showers and seems fine but thought I would gather a few peoples opinions??
I received my pair of Play:1's a couple of days ago, and set them up as a stereo pair in the living room. I already owned a Play:5, and I'm really disappointed about the sound quality of the Play:1 stereo pair vs. the single Play:5. I hear significant distortion in some songs, and really flat sound overall. I know I cannot expect the sound quality of the Play:5, but based on all the very positive reviews concerning sound quality, and the fact that I set them up as a stereo pair, I expected much better sound quality. I already tried to tweak with loudness and equalizer, but don't get a sound which meets my expectations Has anyone else already experience (positive or negative) with these speakers? I contacted via the web form the Support Desk to see if I can change the speakers for another pair, in case something would be wrong, but I doubt so...
I got my 2 Play1's and they're awesome . I read some of the threads on what stand to get and it seemed that the Omnimount Gemini 1 was one way to go ... Well , I got them ...and they're NOT the way to go .... they definitely work but the things are so flimsy that it would seem a mild breeze would blow them over. In addition to that, there is no way to hide the cables so I'm thinking of just trashing these things and starting over. Has anyone found a stand that they are really happy with? ?
I have the Playbar and 2xPlay:1 set up as surround sound, this works great for tv but when playing music I would like the Play:1s to revert to standalone or stereo, but it appears the only way to do this would be to ungroup them. It would be good to see a software driven update to this issue to make switching between modes simpler. Just wondering how many others would like to see this implemented. Thanks
Have been the happy owner of a Play:5 and two Play:3's. I've always been careful to watch the volume levels on them (more for preservation of my hearing), but my girlfriend tends to run them pretty loud as she's doing chores around the house. Are blown speakers an issue with Sonos? I quick google search appears to say "no", but just wanted to check with you guys. I thought I remember reading that Sonos has it's own protection circuitry built in. Also, with "active" speakers, are the chances of blowing a speaker pretty small?
It would be great to use play 1 as computer speaker. i dont want to buy other third party speakers, i just want to add to my sonos system! buy 2 and pair them. and if I need them elsewhere i can just move them and use them as normal. maybe an added feature on the mac app that would allow it to be mirrored the same way you can play music from you ipad now.
I'm using the TuneInApp for several years now on my smartphone, tablet, Mac and - of course - on my Sonos devices. iTunes offers hearers the possibility to choose from different stream qualities a radio station provides. It would be great if I also may choose them from within the Sonos controller apps. This may also practical when a user is on holidays: when the user takes his Sonos Play: loudspeaker with him ;) and connects it to a mobile 3G/LTE router this could help saving bandwidth.
I have a TV sound bar and play 1 speaker. Both items were added to the Sonos system and are activated however I am unable to group them. I have Living room 1 and Room 2. When I go to either of the rooms in rooms menu it is not giving me the "group" option. I tried several times. Any ideas how to fix this problem? I have no clue why "grouping" option is not coming up in either of the rooms settings. Any help will be appreciated! Paul
Hi guys I've bought a Playbar to go with our TV. The TV is currently on its stand which takes up most of the space on the TV cabinet, so no room for the Playbar. My two options are leaving the TV on the stand and wall mounting the Playbar above the TV - would having it so high cause any negative affect on the sound displacement? Or the second option is wall mounting the TV and having the Playbar either sat or wall mounted below the TV. My preferred option is number 1, as I'd rather have the TV as low as possible - the middle of it is currently eye height when on the sofa so that's ideal, and wall mounting it means raising it so we'll be looking upward a little. I've attached a pic of the set up. The TV is a 65" so if wall mounted it will be fairly high (around 5 foot if just above the telly). Also, if above the telly, is there a minimum it should be above to not have the back of the telly affecting the sound? Thanks!
Hi all, I would like connect my Bose SR1 soundbar with Sonos. Will I need Sonos Connect or the Sonos Connect:Amp? Currently, I cannot get any sound out of my Bose soundbar, which is connected to the Sonos Connect being in turn connected to my internet router. Is it my stupidity or just the wrong set-up? Cheers, Twoshade
LEDs for Ethernet connection blink and are distracting in dark rooms (my Sonos that is connected to the Ethernet is in the bedroom). Can we have option to turn those LEDs OFF? There is option to turn on main indicator light but not Ethernet LEDs. I have seen similar feature on Cisco routers.
New portable travel SONOS Speaker with Bluetooth for stand-alone usage & WiFi for use at home with your SONOS system
Would you please create a portable travel speaker (like the cool new Bose Soundlink Mini or Jambox or Beats Pill) with Bluetooth and also links with your WiFi setup at home? I only use a travel speaker 3 times a year, so it would be great if I could also use it in my Sonos setup at home.
