Hi. I have configured Google Assistant to read the latest news broadcasts on request. This works fine on my phone where I first get a summary of the cast to be read, describing news source/radio station, then the timestamp for the latest news and finally the news broadcast. When trying the same on Sonos the initial summary is read but then nothing of the broadcast is read at all. Is this a known issue? I find it strange that it can be played by phone but not on Sonos. Some issue with file format/codec not supported by Sonos?
Hi,I've been trying to set up Google assistant on my two Beams.Neither of them allow me to turn the Microphone on.I have successfully added Google assistant to my Sonos One.Although I can turn the Microphone on for my Move, I cannot add the Google assistant to it either.Any tips would be greatly appreciated before I submit a support ticket. All of my speakers software have been updated.Thanks.
I have a Sonos Beam connected to my Sony TV and usually control the volume by asking Google. It it still working but rather than asking Google to increase the volume to say 4 or 5 I now have to ask for volume to increase to 60 or more. I don’t think I’ve changed anything but maybe I’ve done something weird? I also sometimes change volume through my iPhone (mentioning this in case it’s relevant). Can anyone shed some light on this please? Many thanks
I have two different rooms set up in the Sonos app (Living Room and Game Room). I see this reflected in the Google Home app. However, whenever I ask google to do anything for the Game Room (e.g. “Play music in Game Room”, “Set Game Room sonos volume to 30%”, etc.) it always executes for the living room.Is there a way to get the assistant to understand the different rooms?
I use Assistant on my Pixel 2XL. I also use it on a Sonos One, which is used by my whole household. We use Spotify for music. I originally had my Spotify account linked to my Google account on the Sonos, but quickly found that if someone else used the Sonos while I was listening to Spotify elsewhere (like at work), then my music would stop. To fix this, I created a house Google account, and linked that Assistant to the Sonos. Then I created a house Spotify account, and linked that account to my house Google Assistant. This works great, no problems. Now I am trying to link Tile to my Google account, so I can ask the Assistant on the Sonos to find my Tile items. This is more difficult. I set up my house Google account on an old, unused Android phone. I am able to link Tile to that account. But since Tile needs Bluetooth, I can't use Tile on Sonos unless that old phone is turned on and in range of the Tile items. I don’t really want to have that old phone sitting around, chargi
Hi,I just set up my Sonos One, adding YouTube music and Google assistant. It doesn’t work right at, it’s very annoying.I say “hey google, play X by Y”Is then plays some stupid random song I never asked for. If I look what has happened it has found some playlist (not one of mine) called “Mix X’ and started to play the first (of hundreds) on that playlist!!Example;I say “hey google, play blue monday by new order”And i hear small town boy by bronski beat!!!!!!!!!!!!! wtf!!If I look in the Sonos app, I see it’s decided to play some random playlist called “Mix Blue Monday” of which smalltown boy is first track.Btw, after I have ask it (as above)“sure, playing blue monday on your tube music”, then plays fade to grey by visage,
Can I record output from the Sonos microphone to test/playback. I am having trouble getting the Sonos to hear me as I'm having too shout for it to even recognise I am saying something and even then it will not understand what I am saying. Google assistant has no trouble on my iPhone so I assume its not my voice thats the problem?
I am currently experiencing this problem as well… All i want my sonos to do is to play the music and listen to the news through GA.. THAT IS ALL I WANT.. IT WORKED PERFECTLY FOR THE FIRST HALF A YEAR AND IT SUDDENLY JUST KEEPS CUTTING OFF HALFWAY.. ALL I WANT TO DO IS TO LISTEN TO THE NEWS EVERY MORNING….. I am honestly very frustrated… For the longest time i thought that maybe they were just playing the snippets of the news? I factory reset the device twice and tried connecting to 2 different google accounts, re added the google assistant. I thought it might be a problem with my wifi, which was exactly the same set up as it was the whole 6months. I plugged in the ethernet cable, nope still the same thing. “Here is the latest news” 10 seconds later “That’s all for now” If i am lucky i can maybe listen to 15 seconds of the news right after that.. or maybe abit 20 seconds if i am extremely lucky… There is no way the news ended then because HE WAS TALKING HALF WAY AND IF I USED G
I would like to create a “group” for all my Sonos speakers within Google Assistant so I can adjust volume, play music etc. on ALL the Sonos speakers at once. I have them assigned to separate rooms, but still would like to address them as one. I have tried creating a “speaker group” in Google Assistant, but the only device that shows up is my Google Home speaker and my Sonos Beam.
Spotify volume becomes quiet and unchangeable after I use the Google Assistant on my Arc. I use Spotify direct cast and it will work normally (I can change the volume in Spotify app, Sonos app, or speaker volume buttons) until I use Google Assistant. Then the volume becomes quiet and I can’t change it using any method until I unplug the Arc. I can still change the volume of TV and Google Assistant voice responses, just not Spotify. Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas how to fix?
I bought the new Sonos One Second Generation speaker a few days ago. Over the last few days I have uploaded all of my record library onto the Google Play Music program (free sevice). However, I can play any track on the speaker from the Sonos App on my phone but when I use a voice command I keep getting the message “Sorry, the requested content isn’t available for your Google Play music subscription here”. I bought the Sonos One on the assumption that I would be able to do this without having to subscribe to any other service. Please advise.
HiThe Sonos App does not support Google Play Music very well.I have a Windows PC, Android Phone and Android Tablet. All software are updated.I have Sonos Play 1, Sonos Play One and Sonos Connect.I have read earlier threads regarding this, but i still miss sine og the described issues.- Earlier the app. supported "radio" when a got to an artist. This have been gone a year or more.- In Google Play Music app. a can search for Artist, Song, Genre and more. In Sonos App I cant search for genres. When i eg. Search for Rock ord Jazz i get a empty result.- When in Google Play go to radio stations, there are alot to choose among (and many genres to choose among) The Sonos App only has 7 genres two choose among. I go via browse -> Google Play Music-> Browse Radio channels -> genre Sonos is a superb audio system, and the app is quite cool - but it can get event better. Kind regards Thomas
I cannot reliably use my Sonos for voice alarms with Google Assistant. I had hoped the S2 update would fix it, but it has not. If I set an alarm by voice for 8:30 AM, it acknowledges, but sets it for: -either- “You have set an alarm for 1:30 PM snoozed until 8:30 AM tomorrow.” -or- “You have set an alarm for 8:30 AM snoozed until 3:30 AM tomorrow.” Clearly this is a time zone issue. Since I am in CDT, the offset from UTC is 5 hours. If the alarm is set to the second option, then I don’t get my morning alarm, and am instead woken up at 3:30 AM the next night. If I set the alarm for 8:30 AM for weekdays, which alarm I get on a particular day is random.
I use my Sonos as the default speaker with my Google Nest. Music can be controlled on the Sonos by the Google Nest, no issues. However, the Google Nest feature ‘Lower volume when listening” does not work with my Sonos. This is very annoying as I have to shout Google commands when music is playing on my Sonos speakers. Ive tried re-lnking my Sonos speakers with Google Home, I’ve update the Sonos software to the latest. Is there a fix for this ?
Hello, In my living room I have a Playbase and 2 Ones as surrounds, when I have my Playbase directly connected to my network I cannot enable Assistant in this room. The Sonos ones I have in my bedroom have no issues. Once I remove the physical connection and use Wi-Fi, I am able to configure this without issues. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue?
I have 4 Ones(sec gen) 2 Ones(first gen)they are part of my home theater set up and 2 Beam's They were all controlled by Alexa until the GA download. I never had any problems with Alexa however A was not as good as GA. I was and am a fan of GA. It's on both my phone and tablet The sec gen Ones and Beam's were changed from A to GA as soon as I received the GA update. No problems straight away however soon had many problems with the GA on the One(sec gen) No response to requests ask for music, radio, turn on/off. No GA problems whatsoever with the Beam's. Got so bad put A back on the two of the Ones. A works perfectly unlike GA. Will soon have A on all the Ones. Other members of the community have had similar issues with GA on Ones(sec gen) how big is the problem
Hey! So, I added GA to my Sonos Beam about a month ago, which worked perfectly. Suddenly GA got removed from the services page so I tried to hook it up again. Now when I try to connect the two again, there is no Sonos login pop-up showing up anymore and the loading screens just keeps on spinning with an error message as a result. There’s just no way to remove the connection that has ever been made between Google and Sonos. Is there anyone who has experienced the same issue and know how to fix it? Thanks!
