Jannik
I set up Google Assistant in my two sonos one (gen 2) and i try to use sleep timer and it not work. When I have spotify playing, if I say "Sleep Timer for 10 minutes", Google Assistant responds "Sleep timers can only be set when media is playing".Is there any way to get this to work?
Hey! So, I added GA to my Sonos Beam about a month ago, which worked perfectly. Suddenly GA got removed from the services page so I tried to hook it up again. Now when I try to connect the two again, there is no Sonos login pop-up showing up anymore and the loading screens just keeps on spinning with an error message as a result. There’s just no way to remove the connection that has ever been made between Google and Sonos. Is there anyone who has experienced the same issue and know how to fix it? Thanks!
Hi! So with the recent integration of the Google Assistant onto the Sonos platform I decided to pick up a pair of Sonos Ones (Gen1) to connect with my current Playbar. From everything I've read when being used as a surround pair one of the surround speakers will act as the hub for the voice assistant being used. I've been successful at linking my Ones with Google, and when they are on their own in a stereo pair the Google Assistant works as expected. However, whenever I connect them with my Playbar as a surround pair the Google Assistant becomes unusable. Any query or command results in a long pause followed by a response from the assistant stating that something went wrong or a glitch happened and to try again in a few seconds. Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue? I have a few Google Home Minis that I can use to still have access to the Google Assistant but I'd much rather use the capabilities of the Sonos One.
Goodday, I have multiple Sonos speakers in my living room, but if i change the volume by GA voice it only changes the volume on the one that is 'listing'. This is really annoying and removes the use of voice commands for sonos. It's quicker with the app then changing the volume for every individual speaker by voice... Did i miss something? These would be perfect: 'Volume to 30 percent' 'Group volume to 30 percent' 'All Groups/Speakers volume to 30 percent' Thanks
When I set my preferred music service as Youtube Music and try to place music on Sonos One using my voice (Google Assistant), I keep getting “To play Youtube you need Chromecast or cast-enabled TV linked to your account”. But I don’t want to watch a video, I just want to play music from Youtube Music! Anybody have any idea how to fix this? I don’t get the same issue if I set Spotify as my default.
Another weird one: I usually stop playback of my Sonos playlists on Sonos One by saying “Hey Google, stop”, because Stop works with all types of media playback on all my Sonos, Google Home, and Alexa speakers. That is, it did until this week. Now suddenly Stop no longer works with Sonos playlists - I have to say “pause” instead. Google Assistant still hears “Stop” - it’s in the Activity log. It just ignores it now. If I say “Hey Google, stop bedroom speaker”, that still works. Can anyone explain why this quirk would happen suddenly?
One of my favorite features of my Google Home was that after asking it to play a song, it would continue playing similar music after the song finished (in other words, it would start a radio based on the song). When I ask my new Sonos Beam to play a song, it goes silent after playing the one song. Is there any way to get it to do the same thing Google Home does? I can't seem to find anything in the settings...
I've been waiting for Google assistant to come. But when I set it up it won't play any of my Google play music. When I ask it to play it says it's not apart of my subscription. This happens with my own music that the sonos app can see also. But I was hoping it would play my Google music that I can play with thr Google home minis. Is this normal?
I got my new Sonos One, installed the app and installed google assistance. I can play music on the Sonos, but the google assistance is not working. I added the device in my google account, but it doesn’t respond. I cannot activate the microphone on the Sonos. How can I solve this?
I have the Beam newly setup in place of my home mini. For some reason although it’s in the right room and all that when I give the lights off command it insists on handling every light in the house rather than just the room it’s in. antone got any ideas
Hi Sonos I've just bought a beam and the answers provided by assistant are ridiculously loud (when the beam volume is set just right). Is there any way this can be adjusted? I've got a 100 day trial and the device will be returned if this is not fixable. I don't want to be waking the neighbours every time I get an assistant reply. Looked elsewhere and seems to have been a frequent complaint for quite some time so I presume a fix is imminent??
Clearly our Sonos Beam has mics and the ability to output sound. It also has Internet access. Are there any actual hardware limitations preventing voice calls being enabled, or is this a business decision by Sonos and/or Google? Will Sonos ever enable Google Assistant voice calling?
When I tell Google assistant 'lights out' either on a google home or on my phone I get the response "ok turning off 15 lights" and every light in my house turns off. When I give this same command to any one of my 9 sonos ones I get "ok. Turning off the kitchen light" or "ok turning off the livingroom lights" etc. It only turns off the lights in the same room as the sonos one to which I am speaking.. It's completely useless. If I'm going to go room to room telling Google assistant to turn off lights before I leave the house I may as well just use the switches..
Google recently released an update allowing us to cancel alarms by merely saying "stop". My Sonos Beam will only cancel alarms in response to the wake phrase plus "stop", i.e. I must use "Ok Google, stop" or "Hey Google, stop". This is a confusing and unhelpful user experience as the Beam requires different commands to the other Google Home devices in our household. Why doesn't "stop" work, does this indicate that the Sonos integration is not a current version of Google Assistant? What does this mean for the future? I've no idea whether this needs to be fixed by Google or Sonos, I've already reported it to Google, and encourage anyone else experiencing this problem to do so also.
Hi Google Assistant is now available, great I thought so linked it all up and went to add a music service. The only one i can choose or want to is Spotify. It states that the free will work on Google Home, Assistant speakers and Android TV devices. It does not work and Google asks me to look at the app for more help. I am assuming it won’t work with free Spotify then? M
I have successfully linked Google Home (on my android phone) with Sonos, so I can play music on the Sonos Play 1 by saying "Hey Google play in the kitchen" (where "kitchen" is the name of my Sonos Play 1 in the kitchen). So far, so good! : ) Google Home has "routines" such as playing the news and weather when you say "OK Google, good morning". But I don't know how to have the "routine" play from the Sonos speaker. On the Google Home app on my phone if I select "Routines" then it gives me the option to "Play routines on" and an Edit link If I click the Edit link I can select from

This device
Google mini
but I can't select the Sonos speakers (e.g. "kitchen") Is there a way to achieve this? Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Hi, wondering when Google Assistant support is coming to New Zealand? It's available in Australia... seems strange to not be available in NZ. When purchased my Sonos gear was under understanding that Google Assistant support was coming - would be great if roadmap for NZ could be provided. Cheers
I was surprised to learn that you cannot setup a ‘Routine’ on a Sonos One speaker. This was confirmed by Sonos Customer Care. Specifically I was informed that “Google Assistant doesn't have Routine support within Sonos yet”. Needless to say I was disappointed given the price of the Sonos One vs. a simpler Google Nest Mini. Yes, the sound quality is no comparison between the two which is why I opted for the Sonos. And I just assumed (incorrectly, obviously) that a Sonos One would provide all the setup features you’d find in the Nest Mini. If a $50 speaker can provide daily ‘routines’ then why doesn’t a $200 speaker???I’m hoping the Engineers at Sonos will resolve this issue shortly.
