Sonos Vs IKEA image.... Do you think they go well together? I own products from both companies, however the reason I purchase from IKEA is very different to what I'm looking to when buying from a company like Sonos. In my mind IKEA is cheap, need some bedroom furniture for the kids. Sonos I consider a premium product that will last me a lifetime.... In my head the two don't go together and even if it was the same product inside the speaker case, I'd never buy it if it had IKEA stuck on the outside. Perhaps I sound snobby.
With the forthcoming deletion of the ability to play music on Sonos directly from iPhones/Pads, Airplay 2 is widely being seen as a solution. Before investing to bring in that ability via new Sonos hardware as opposed to the more straightforward route of adding a NAS, some questions perhaps need to be answered; questions that arise from not so good experiences with Airplay as it existed before Airplay 2 was released.

Is music play via Airplay 2 to a target Sonos speaker as stable as it is via the "On this Phone" route it is seen to replace ?
Is such music play to a group of speakers also just as stable?
Is music play in both modes above as stable as it is via Sonos net?
Can two phones on the same WiFi network simultaneously stream music each contains via Airplay 2 to unique Sonos speakers in two different rooms?
Can the phones be used as such when music is being streamed from them? Either via the existing feature or via Airplay 2?
These are questions tha
Hi I have two ones and one of these feels strange when on even if it's not playing music. When you touch it there is a slight vibrating/static feeling which is hard to describe. The other device does not have this feeling at all. The strange feeling isn't accompanied by any strange noise just the feeling. Any ideas what could cause this?
Look, the good thinks about the app are: to control the EQ, set Trueplay (ONLY in iPhones, no iPads or Android devices…) and to set the voice or night mode. I find it useful for those things I just mentioned. Then if you want to search your music is a nightmare. The users, We love to use out streaming music services such as Spotify and go to Spotify Connect and select your device or speaker and play our music on that selected device. We like to go simple without complicate our life. Also, the interface in Spotify for searching music is more dynamic and accurate than the Sonos App.Now here is the problem, when I go to Tidal or Qobuz apps and try to look for the Sonos speakers in their Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect I don't see them. So I have to go to the boring and ugly Sonos app and search for the Song, which it is not as accurate as searching from the Streaming Music App. In addition If I found the song and then I want to start the Song’s Radio in the Sonos app, this is not possible.
I purchased a Sonos 5 to replace a dead Bose sound dock. First, I really like the sound quality of this product. Regretfully, I encountered a playback/song skipping issue that Sonos doesn't seem to have an answer for. During playback, at random times, Sonos skips to the next song. Sometimes a few seconds into a song. Sometimes a few minutes into a song. Incredibly annoying. I tried (tirelessly) to work with Sonos to resolve the issue, but to no avail. They say to call with any problems, but don't tell you that there is often an hour plus hold time. That leaves you with e-mail support with a different technician every time you get a response. Every time the issue was blamed on my wireless router, which works perfectly with EVERY OTHER DEVICE IN MY HOME (TVs, phones, laptops, iPods, doorbells, thermostats, etc.). They also say that this is an uncommon problem. Judging from the number of folks on this forum with the same issue, this is something they need to shine a light on a
Hi I'm adding outdoor speakers to my sonos system. Have the connect Amp and have been researching outdoor speakers to buy for my house. Does anyone recommend any particular speakers? I see Polk is pretty good but most outdoor speakers don't get good reviews on bass. I'm not looking for booming but I don't want all high end either. Bose looks good but is that worth the money?
When I use the Bluetooth connection for my MOVE it’s volume is half what it is with wiFi music. I’ve tried turning the speaker up all the way over wiFi before I switch th Bluetooth and max out the volume on my MacBook as well. I bought the move specifically for outdoor movies and I’m really disappointed with the lack of volume.
New to Sonos, have the app on iphone 5c. i have created a Sonos playlist and the onscreen instructions tell me to pres the 3 dots when browesing or listening to a song and then select add to playlist. when i press the 3 dots this isn't an option i am given. while a song is playing i am only given the option of crossfade and sleep timer when i am scrolling through songs i am given the options of play now, play next, add to que and replace queue. no option to add to a playlist am i doing something wrong?
My Play 5 just stopped working (no power, no lights), and Technical support said the unit was dead and only offered an out of warranty replacement. I've only had the unit for 2 years and used it lightly (compared to the play 3 that I use daily). Is a 2 year life span standard for the Play 5? I like the Sonos products, but I'm really disappointed at how quickly the unit died and Support's response. For $500, I was expecting it to last a lot longer and am hesitant to get another. Have others had a similar issue? How long have other Play 5s lasted? Should I try to fix it on my own? Thanks for your input!
I’m traveling with my ROAM, so not on my home wifi-network (where all my other sonos devices are connecfed; all other devices show in Sonos app on my phone, but wilth an error as they are not on the wifi where I’m at)ROAM is connected on iPhone via bluetooth, but the device is never shown as a device option in the music apps so I can’t get the music to play through the ROAM.How do I get the music being streamed on my iPhone (iOS 15.5)No clue what firmware/version the ROAM is on -- have never had it connected to a wifi: only time I ever try to make it work I’m away from home and can’t figure out if changing the network in my Sonos app will impact the home-based devices (that my husband is using).
Five ideas / suggestions / wishes:

Make Sonos Playlists exportable, importable and editable
Extend the Sonos Playlist name character limit from 20 to 50
Have the new 5.0 option Universal Search include "Contributing Artists"
Eliminate the barrier of 65,000 music library items
Display scrolling long track and album names on controller apps
Thank you.
Still can't access my computer library. I can through Ethernet cable but when it's just wifi the above message comes up. Does anyone know how to help? The Sonos guy who took hold of my computer said it was an service provider issue when he saw my computer listed as 'N/A' rather than its name. I am so stuck!
Should we be concerned? I think we should be. Yesterday owners of the Sonos Dock were emailed telling them that from October onwards, with their next software update, that the Dock will no longer be supported and made obsolete and no longer work within the Sonos system. Earlier in the year owners of the CR-100 controller were also told that their controller would no longer be supported and no longer work. Two Sonos products in less than a year have been made obsolete. Let me repeat that, in less than a year 2 Sonos components have been planned by Sonos to be made obsolete. You can understand if the product failed due to its age but a software update planned and intended to make the components obsolete is quite worrying. And where does that leave Sonos owners who were earlier adopters of the technology? And where does that leave all Sonos owners? Yesterday The "Sonos Support Team" tweeted that "Supporting the Dock within the modern Sonos system is no longer sustainable due to the
Hi all. First time poster so be gentle with me. ;) I have an R1 and R3 speaker set up wirelessly to my router and I control them through the sonos app on my mobile. Everything has been working flawlessly for the past few months. This week however when listening to the radio it keeps cutting in and out. Streaming music from my mobile is fine. I have rebooted my router and the speakers. A speed test on my Internet connection comes in at 100+ Meg. My gut feeling is that the problem must be internet based. Just asking if anyone else out there has experienced a similar issue or if there is anything else you folks might suggest I try.
Sort-of just for fun, but I am curious how many Sonos devices do you own, and what does your setup look like? I feel I have developed a bit of an addiction with more than 14 in my 4-bedroom home, ha! I tell my wife "some folks get tattoos, I get SONOS". Curious what the rest of the community has in their setup :)
I am thinking of connecting my ZP80 directly to a Power Amplifier (using RCA cables from the analogue out). Does anyone have any experience of doing this? I am not an expert in music engineering, so I have a few questions that I do not seem to be able to Google my way out of: 1. What is a suitable Input Impedance and Input Sensitivity for the Power Amplifier? 2. Will I find that the results are extremely loud (i.e. I will only be able to use the very bottom of the volume control and risk blow-out if I accidentally switch to fixed volume). 3. Is the volume control on the ZP80 an attenuator or is the volume controlled by altering the digital signal? (This question relates to the analogue out.) Thanks for any help! John
Hard to say what exactly this is from the limited documents posted, but it has 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios, and BLE (bluetooth low energy). The controls look like those on the One, but that's all I can really see there. Embargo on documents ends in June. Check the docs out yourself at https://fccid.io/SBVRM016
