I have been talking to SONOS support who have been very helpful, but couldn't resolve my problem......I want better sound from my smaller LED TV's <36"............and they eventually suggested that I get as many followers for this idea as possible, which would enhance the possibility of it becoming a reality. So, please, please, all you supporters of a smaller/mini Playbar, please like and follow this conversation to continue to pile on the pressure on SONOS to take this request seriously. Thanks :) This was my question to SONOS support:------ "Thank-you for spending the time to respond to my query, I appreciate your efforts in trying to find an answer to my problem. However, it would seem that there really isn’t a SONOS solution for smaller TV’s, or to put it another way, a SONOS solution for all the TV’s in a home. What it needs is a mini wall mountable version of the Soundbar, one that doesn’t necessarily have to produce full surround sound, but one that could provide bet
Dear Sonos, I have bought 2x play 1 for in the living room. I want connect the speakers to my Samsung smart tv, is this possible? As I just graduated I am obviously not going to spend a lot of money to buy another Sonos system. If there is no other way, I suggest you figure something out to connect the sonos play 1 to the tv, otherwhise you will lose another customer. To be honest, I can think of a billion ways to make it work. Best regards, Bram
New to Sonos, have the app on iphone 5c. i have created a Sonos playlist and the onscreen instructions tell me to pres the 3 dots when browesing or listening to a song and then select add to playlist. when i press the 3 dots this isn't an option i am given. while a song is playing i am only given the option of crossfade and sleep timer when i am scrolling through songs i am given the options of play now, play next, add to que and replace queue. no option to add to a playlist am i doing something wrong?
I left my Sonos Play1 out in the rain for three days. It still works. I can't believe it. Yes, I am a moron. That said, I really need a Sonos outdoor speaker, because I am 100% sure I will leave my Play1 out in the rain again, and I don't know how many lives it has. I'm actually quite surprised there isn't already an outdoor Sonos.
I have recently got Sonos play 3 and to my disappointment it lack versatility on every single level. Can't play any music unless it is through the dreadful and unusable app supplied by Sonos. It's integration with Spotify leaves a lot to be desired and the fact that I'm unable to play music direct from laptop makes this purchase even more pointless. Maybe I should of done my research better but a product that cost this amount of money should be far more versatile and there is no excuse that app should be so bad when it advertises itself as fully integrating with Spotify. I will certainly not be purchasing anymore speakers in the future and most likely be adding my Play 3 to eBay.
g'day all. i have bought the Sonance SLS LS47 SUB10 System system which comes with a Crown CDi 1000 Amp. I have connected the ZP90 to the balanced input (phoenix connector) from the unbalanced zp90 by cutting the RCA cable and connecting it as instructed by the manual (with jumper cables between the channels and ground). the amp deliver 500w per channel and is feeding 8 sat speakers and 1 sub (4 sat's on one channel + 4 sat's and the sub on the other channel). if the vol control on the amp is turned up more than 65-70% per channel, and i turn the vol control on the sonos over 80% the amp starts to clipp. my questions is, do the ZP90 deliver sufficient gain to this amp? or do i need another pre-amp between the amp and the ZP90? it makes no sense to me that an amp this powerful start to clipp this "early", thus im trying to find out if it could be the output signal from the zp90 which is too weak. any ideas?
Hi All, I have just bought an Onkyo TX-NR626 7.2-Channel Network Audio/Video Receiver (Black) @ Amazon.com and I am planning to buy Sonos system to have it all configured in my apartment, but I am not sure If this would be possible. Am I able to have my receiver playing all my devices and sound been handled by Sonos Connect and its different types of wireless speakers? If I have my Xbox One been used with my receiver, does the sound plays @ the speakers available within Sonos' network created? Let me know how should I proceed. Rgds Marcelo
Recently the playlists I created in Spotify wont play through my Sonos system. The lists work fine on my PC's and sevices when using the Spotify app. While the playlist title appears in the playlist on the Sonos interface (desktop, Ipod and android) the songs themselves are greyed out.
Hello, Over the past years, I have managed all my music using iTunes, i.e. converting albums to the proper format and creating playlists. During all those years, I had to convert the playlists (the m3u files) from the Unicode UTF-8 encoding to ASCII/ANSI (this is the default Windows Encoding) coding since the Sonos players do not support UTF8. This is a multi-step process which is very prone to errors (don’t ask me why since this shouldn’t be necessary at all). ASCII is well and truly dead and buried. See this quote from https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100927014115AAiRExF: "Nowadays both ASCII and ANSI character sets are most effectively obsolete as we now have Unicode which currently provides 107,156 characters in a single character set and is expanding. I love the Sonos system but I am really disappointed there is no support for bookmarks in audiobooks (and podcasts). I love listening to audiobooks and since I'm from Sweden Audible is not an option if I want to listen to Swedish audiobooks. I buy my books in MP3 or on CD and make them real bookmarkable audiobooks in the .m4b-format with the program Audiobook Builder so they are not DRM-protected. It's also annoying that I can't play the audiobooks I have on my iPhone in the Sonos app, I need to use the computer version. So please Sonos, fix support for bookmarks in audiobook (and podcasts) so all your audiobook loving customer can bookmark their audiobooks. :)
I have a playbar, sub, and two play:1 speakers. I have a new Sony 4k TV and I am trying to watch Netflix in 4K with 5.1 surround. When I go to About in the Sonos controller I can see it says 5.1 but I am not hearing anything from the play:1s, not sure if I hear the subwoofer.
Hello all, I'm designing a whole home audio system for my house which is currently under reconstruction. I'd like to go with Sonos. I think it'll be more cost effective than going with a multi-room audio system that they're marketing nowadays. I also am in desperate need of great sound quality and power. I plan to entertain a lot. Because of pitched ceilings, I'm really leaning towards the SpeakerCraft in-ceiling speakers so I can direct the speaker downwards. Some rooms are larger, others are smaller. I have about 8 zones all with two speakers except one which has four. I plan to use 8 individual connects to control each zone individually and/or multiple zones simultaneously. I want separate amps (not a Connect:AMP) that won't break the bank to give me the power Connect:AMP won't. The SpeakerCraft speakers I'm leaning towards are 8 ohms/125W. I'm stuck when it comes to amplifiers. Some say pre-amp + amp for the Connect, others say not necessarily. I would prefer a multi-input/multi-
Hey, So i'm getting a playbar soon and i want to connect my existing and new Play1's to the playbar. From reading online it would appear i can connect two providing i use a bridge however im keen to know if I can connect more than the two and if so is it the same process? Also, can i connect Play 3 or 5's to my playbar. thinking of buying some with the playbar and unsure if i should stay with P1's Thanks
This topic has been in the "question" section for a year, and recently been marked as "answered", without actually being answered! So here we go again. Please incorporate a way of creating groups that consist of speakers across different rooms, which are permanent. A kind of favourite groupings. E.g. In the morning I want to use one group of speakers (all of them) to listen to the radio, as everybody in the house is awake. In the evening I want some rooms excluded, because our son is sleeping. When we have friends for dinner, I have another constellation I would like to use. BUT!!! I don't want to have to go through grouping and ungrouping every time. I would like to have easily selectable predetermined (setup by the user) groups of several rooms, where I can save certain volume settings for each group and have these synced as well (instead of having to do this each and every time as well) and am able to use the volume buttons on any of the groups speaker to change the volume si
After much testing trying to get my new Play:5 to connect to my network music library share on my Windows Server 2012 R2 server, it appears that Sonos does not support NTLMv2. It would appear from another post on this forum at https://ask.sonos.com/sonos/topics/sonos_with_osx_mavericks_server that OS X Mavericks now requires NTLMv2 by default for SMB share connections. Requiring users to lower the security of their system to enable NTLMv1 connections is not really a viable solution as NTLMv1 is a very old protocol and has many security vulnerabilities and is exactly the reason why Apple have decided to move to blocking NTLMv1 connections, something Microsoft will no doubt do at some point in the future (by default as it's already possible to configure a policy to block these connections). [b]Sonos need to add support for NTLMv2 and cease using NTLMv1 connections. Additionally, Sonos should support the
I know this is a recurrent topic, but I actually believe it would be very helpful if Sonos address this issue in a concise webpage with continuous updates. Right now the whole forum is full of questions about TV's ability to pass-through a 5.1 HDMI signal. The (so voted) most helpful comment on amazon about the playbar is about the problem of not getting a real surround but an artificial constructions from a PCM 2.0 signal from the TV. And this is also the main issue mentioned in CNET for the review of the playbar. So, guys, could you make a systematic and compressive study/review of which TV's will work with the Sonos surround system? I'm currently considering to get a full sonos surround pack, but I cant not make a decision before knowing if my LG 65UB930T (LG65UB9500 in USA) is able to pass the signal form the devices connected to the HDMI ports. And I believe this situation is generalized for all potential consumers, many of them buying your product without being aware o
