Really want to fill my house with Sonos but won't buy anything until we can use our windows phones as controllers.
Found out today from Sonos Customer Care that they have no intention of releasing a Windows App.  Have you wondered why the last "Official Response" is over 6 months old?  Call Sonos yourself at 1.800.680.2345 Mon-Fri 9am to 8pm EST

Looking to pick up a wireless solution for 2014 I was all set to load a few sonos products into my cart until I found out there wasn't an official windows phone 8 or windows 8 app.

On top of that - unlike B&O who have just announced a lovely remote control, sonos have discontinued their remotes! Yes, there are work-arounds I could get an unofficial app for my phone, or I could download the desktop app for my PC, but I'm not looking to invest a grand in speakers to then compromise on how I control the music.

Put out a windows phone app at least and you have my money.
Please wake up and launch a WP App for the growing penetration of WP.

IDC: More Windows Phone units shipped than iPhones in 24 markets during Q3 2013

Keeping customers in the cold is not good for your reputation. Surely it's a no-brainer to develop a Window 8 app, especially since it's on the rise. With support for XP coming to an end in April, there will be even more people moving to a Win8 environment along with many new wp8 customers.
What is the status? Does it take so long to develop an app??
The Windows Phone community is growing! I recently switched to Windows Phone (company policy) and really would like an official Windows Phone app and not the crap some people have developed and selling for too much money!
hurry up !
I will stop purchasing sonos products until they keep up with the times, either they will add support for Windows 8 (how is this not done yet) and DTS added to the playbar (also how is this not done yet!) or the new guys who have started offering alternatives will and i'll switch. Simple. Update PLEASE!
Sonos used to be the marketleader. No competition at all. Now there are several high end alternatives. The first one that releases a native windows 8/ Windows Phone app will be my standard. I now have a Connect and an :amp but I want to equip 3 more rooms. I won't invest anymore. With these WW marketshares of Windows, Sonos is disrespecting their customers.
Come on Sonos. What are you waiting for? Windows Phone platform is growing and we are really many who prefer our Windows Phone because of the way it is working. I am sure that Sonos market share will grow much more with an Windows Phone App.
Please oh please Windows 8/Windows Phone support!!!!

2013 came and went... still no Windows 8/Phone support. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.
We are now 1524 who want this. What do we have to do to make you understand that we realy want this..
show up at Your doorstep?
windows 8 and windows phone have been here for over a year now, and you have not yet gotten the finger out!
How hard can it be.
I just bought my first Sonos Play 3 and I am really loving it!!! I am really considering to equip the whole house with many more Sonos products but I won't - at least for now.
Currently we are controlling the system with the unofficial “Phonos” app on our Windows Phones and I have an extra Android device used just as Sonos remote control. But as long as there is no official Windows Phone app AND a Windows 8 store app from Sonos, I will not extend my Sonos system.

And the way how Sonos official reps deal with this (and other popular !) request is also not confidence-building. Sorry!
would be great to get a little more information on where this development is, 6 months is a long time with no official news! I am eagerly awaiting an official windows phone/rt app...
Awful customer service ... clearly aren't listening to us... last reply was 6 months ago!!!!!! I have friends in AV media circles .... I'm going to get them onto this story and shame SONOS I've only become aware of this since my xmas Windows phone gift...... i'm really shocked
SunOS is the best thing to happen to music and surface is the best tablet its grown up and is an invaluable tool not just a big phone. Surface. Will be big please don't be left behind.
With Microsoft now owning Nokia the time is really there to start developing Sonos controller software for the Windows Mobile platform.
If Microsoft is committed to breaking into a market they will succeed.  For dinosaurs like myself, I like to remember the days when DOS replaced CPM, the Windows system overtook Apple's OS, Lotus 1,2,3 was wiped out by Excel and Dbase was replaced by Access.
I called SONOS Customer Support at 800-680-2345 to request status of Windows app, and they told me to buy a used I Phone from ebay.  OUCH!
This is BS.  It took a year of requests to get an official response 6 months ago.  Building an app does not take that long.  What is the deal SONOS.  It's time to come clean.  Is MS holding you hostage?
Still waiting for the SONOS support for Windows Phone 8.
Our entire family has WP8 phones, but we are waiting until the app is released to buy 2x SONOS Play 3 for the childrens rooms.
We need the app for WP8.

Any news???
Replaced our iPad2 & 4 for Surface 2 a few weeks ago and what an upgrade! Went in to my local Sonos reseller today to buy a multiroom system just to find out that Sonos doesn´t have an app for Windows RT?! Went home empty handed and found this thread. An Windows RT app seems to have very low priority at Sonos, so will take my money elsewhere.
Any update on whether or not you are going to develop one - I just bought the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 (which is awesome btw) but I would love to get an update on whether or not I can control the sonos with the device sometime in the near future.  Please update!
