Hi, I own a Play5 (2 gen) for a few months and I am considering the benefits of buying another one for stereo pairing. For that, I would like to hear the honest opinion of people who tried both setups regarding whether the improvements with 2 speakers worth the money or not. What might affect my decision: -It stands in a medium size bedroom, plays mostly for personal use and in volumes from 15% to 50%, -I bought the Play5 simply for the sound quality over Play1 and Play3, not exactly for loudness. -I send my TV audio to it as well, but 90% of the time it's for music straight from Spotify. -I am more a fan of clean than powerful sound. Thanks in advance
I would like to use my Sonos as a speaker and just send whatever I'm listening to directly to one of my Sonos devices. Shouldn't that be possible when we are on the same wifi? As an example I like to listen to audiobooks from Storytel, and would like to "forward" that to sonos. Any ideas on how to accomplish that? Thanks
Mike English: Goodevening, i have recently purchased two play 5's and one sonos Sub, the play 5's are positioned vertically on a dresser, but the sub is placed om the floor. This is a nasty place for the sub because of possible damage due to vacuuming etc. I would like to mount the sub onto the wall. I am familiar with two brands that make and sell brackets for the sonos Sub, Flexs
I don't believe this is yet possible, but wanted to confirm. Is there a way to control my Sonos Connect with my Echo? It would be nice to be able to play different play lists or artists via Sonos Connect. I know you can do this with the speakers but was looking for Echo-Connect integration too.
Located in Italy, I'm a recent owner of a Play:1 - mostly devoted and die hard fan of Bang & Olufsen brand for my main setup. I'm a long standing IT consultant, working for a leading consultancy brand since too many (two figures) years. :) I'm getting a great experience and quality, paired with outstanding support, looking forward to enjoy the commmunity. Feeling already home.
From my phone, iPad, or desktop, I can reach Pandora and play music. From Sonos, I can reach Tune In Radio and play stations. However, from Sonos I cannot reach Pandora at all. I get a message: "Unable to browse music - there was a problem connecting to Pandora" I'm using two Play 1 speakers via wi-fi; both are HW version 184.108.40.206-1 and Version 7.0 build 34735162c. The controller version on my iPad and iPhone is 7.0.1. The desktop is 7.0. I've reset the controller from the desktop and stopped the app on both the iPad and iPhone. I've cycled power on one of the Play 1's, though not the other. So, what's my next step?
Hi I purchased a play 5 as a present to myself over the Christmas which I'm loving. So much so I have it in my head to buy a second to set up a stereo pair. But I'm weary as the only place I can leave them is at a height over the presses in the kitchen. My existing one is in the same place but on the other side of the same wall (see pic) but in the horizontal position and I also have it tilted down. My main worry is that the natural position of the play 5 is pointing up when vertical as is the horizontal but I feel I won't get as much of a tilt out of them when they are in the vertical position i.e they will be still pointing up. Do I have to put them in the vertical position or can I leave them horizontal as a stereo pair? And if I do put them vertical do u think I'm wasting my money putting them in that position? I know the easy solution is to find somewhere lower but there really is no where else I can leave them. All advise appreciated
Has anyone had success using a Sonos system with multiple components in a large, corporate-type network? I work in an office of about 100 people with a wired & wifi network throughout the building. I do consultations in 3 different rooms during the day and would like to have a Play:1 unit in each room to stream music or radio while clients are waiting for me. Ideally I would like to do this in Party Mode, so that each Play:1 unit is playing the same content in a different room, then when I come to the room I can "pause" that Play:1, and "unpause" when I leave so it resumes playing. For my setup I would like to wire a Boost to an ethernet port, and have the Play:1 systems stream wirelessly through the hard-wired Boost (they are close enough that the wireless will be strong). My question is: how should the corporate network be configured to allow the Sonos system to stream Spotify, Pandora, etc? The network is highly restricted to prevent everyone watching YouTube, stre
As far as I know, 2xPlay:1 speakers I've always remain power on not matter what. Of course you don't listen to music or use them all the time. I wonder if these speakers could be put in the standby mode when not in use after a defined period of non-functioning? When someone wants to listen to the music, the app will power them back up. Is this something possible to add? Thanks
Hi. I currently have a Sonos Play 1, 3 & 5, and a bridge. I am moving to Singapore soon, and am considering expanding my Sonos equipment in advance of my move as it seems to be quite a lot cheaper here in the US. I am looking to purchase a Sonos 5.1 surround sound package (SUB, Player, & two Play 1s). Would anyone be able to advise on the wisdom of buying in the US versus waiting until I move to Singapore - specifically concerning international warranties and the workability of my equipment in Singapore. (I already appreciate that Sonos is dual voltage. Furthermore I am not using Spotify or similar services at this point in time, so I'm not so concerned about subscription to such services at this stage.) Thanks for any feedback anyone might have. LEDs for Ethernet connection blink and are distracting in dark rooms (my Sonos that is connected to the Ethernet is in the bedroom). Can we have option to turn those LEDs OFF? There is option to turn on main indicator light but not Ethernet LEDs. I have seen similar feature on Cisco routers.
1. Sonos removed Audible because an update caused the service to be incompatible with the Sonos system. 2. Sonos is planning for compatibility with Alexa, the Amazon VI or digital assistant or whatever you want to call them. 3. Amazon owns Audible So, my question is: Will Alexa-Sonos integration solve the problem with Audible-Sonos integration?
We got a new iPad and a new wireless router so we had to set up our two Play 1s all over and we can't get them to work. I get stuck at the point it tells me to find the sonos network. It doesn't appear on my list of available networks. I have the boost also and it can't connect to that either. I've unplugged the equipment several times and still haven't had any luck. My network connects great to the iPad. Thanks for helping!
Have just invested in a Sonos set up for the first time, and took the plunge with a pair of Play 1's, figuring that every single review without exception said they sounded fantastic. I'm slight underwhelmed to be honest. They're on wall brackets about 8 foot apart, have run Trueplay & the sound quality is not blowing me away. Listening to radio stations on tune in does sound pretty damn good, but streaming spotify/Google play music, it sounds a bit flat and undynamic. Anything with a bit of complexity, there is no detail, the bass is a dull thud and it all sounds a bit muddled. I did so much research before buying and reviewers and consumers alike rave about the crystal clear sound and finding details they've never heard before etc. Am not finding any of that. I'm far from an audiophile, I just like clear dynamic sounds from my system Any thoughts? Run trueplay again?
Hi all I have a Play 5 speaker which was distorted in the high range (tweeter) from time to time. It had only been in use less than a week, thou it was bought 8 month ago. I called the Danish supportline, who was very kind and serviceminded. he could also see, from the log file, that the first time it was power up, was less than a week ago. So after a little conversation, he said he would send me a new speaker, and then could i return the old one. Was really pleased by his knowledge, and kindness. I have now received my new speaker, but now im not so sure if it´s a new speaker or a "old" return speaker which they have repacked, because og the label, and that the corner of the inside case was damaged even thou the outer case (from the shipment) wasn't. I can se that it has been assigned a new VPN number (please see the attached photo), is there any good explanation for that, and what is that number ??
